The scene opens to show Rab sat at a table outside Hennessey's Tavern, by Hermosa Beach.
‘Ah coods very happily jist sit haur aw efternuin an' evening, enjoyin' some drinks in undisturbed tranquillity. However, fur th' next few minutes at leest, Ah need tae talk abit mah upcomin' match.’
Rab is wearing a pair of black shorts and a red t-shirt.
‘Mah first match in 3GW didn’t end th' way Ah woold’ve liked it tae, sae thes week it’s time fur me tae make amends fur 'at, when Ah team wi' Maritza Diaz, against th' debutin' Gold Star Connection: Lukas Gold an' Layla Star.’
Rab wraps his right hand around a bottle of beer that is in front of him, on the table.
‘Efter Maritza an' Ah waur forced tae be opponents fur a second time, in uir match two weeks ago, I’m happier tae noo hae 'er be mah partner, insteid.’
He then has a swig from the bottle.
‘I’ve ne'er competed in a tag team match afair noo, sae thes was always gonnae be quite a test fur me, an' havin' two opponents 'at ur an established team only adds tae th' challenge. In Maritza though, Ah dae at leest hae a partner Ah know Ah can rely oan - someain who, shoods things go sooth, Ah know will hae mah back, which is one less issue fur me tae hae tae contemplate. Ah mean, I’m nae expectin' thes match tae gie it ay hain, but if it diz, Ah know Ah hae a partner 'at will stain shoolder tae shoolder wi' me, an' who will gie as guid as she gits.’
Rab takes another drink from his bottle, before placing it back on the table.
’Ah saw th' interview 'at th' Gold Star Connection gae followin' th' first 3GW shaw, sae Ah heard Lukas state 'at he an' Layla ur targetin' th' tag team titles, which Ah suppose isn’t really surprise. Listenin' tae Lukas say 'at reminded me ay th' bloke 'at Maritza an' Ah waur in th' rin' wi' in uir previoos match - ye know, he who left 3GW efter one match, an' whose nam I’ve awreddy forgotten. Sure, he may hae won 'at match, but whaur is he noo?’
Rab shrugs.
‘He made statements abit gunnin' fur championships, but he hud his five minutes ay fam, an' 'en he fu...flew off; Lukas, Layla, whatever happens oan Thursday - an' obvioosly Ah intend tae hae yer debut in 3GW be an unsuccessful one - Ah hope ye two stick aroond lang enaw tae actually try tae realise yer title aspirations, unlike whatshisnam.’
Rab smiles wryly.
‘I’m nae thinkin' abit winnin' titles - I’ll lae 'at tae everyone else - I’m simply thinkin' abit tryin' tae win matches. Ye see, efter th' ootcome ay mah lest match, I’ve noo lost mair times than I’ve won in mah admittedly short career, an' Ah want tae pit 'at reit quickly; losin' is a bad habit fur onie professional athlete, an' it’s a habit 'at Ah want tae gie it ay at th' earliest opportunity - which means, Ah need tae win thes match oan Thursday. Ah know 'at th' Gold Star Connection will start th' match as favoorites - as Ah mentioned earlier, they’re th' established team - but 'at doesn’t mean I’ve given up hope ay me an' Maritza winnin'.’
Rab shakes his head.
‘Th' Gold Star Connection ur partners inside an' ootside th' rin', sae they may weel hae better chemistry than Maritza an' Ah dae, but one hin' Ah can say fur certain, is 'at they can’t match uir collectife power; we ur stronger...th...’
Rab pauses.
‘Oan second thooght, I’d better nae finish 'at sentence - Ah don’t want tae steal Maritza’s lines.’
Rab winks.
‘In Scootlund, if a bloke said he wanted tae be a cheerleader, he woods promptly gie th' guff beaten it ay heem. I’m gonnae avoid th' temptation, though, tae mock Lukas fur havin' bin a male cheerleader. Besides, I’m sure thaur ur things he coods poke fin at me fur - loch havin' a top-knot.’
Rab smirks. He then scratches his head.
‘Whaur dae cheerleadin' competitions tak' place, anyway? A cheerleadin' coort? A cheerleadin' park?’
He frowns.
‘Ne’er mind.’
He then shrugs again, and continues.
‘Lukas, Layla, I’m nae gonnae sit haur an' teel ye, “this ain’t cheerleadin',” coz yoo’re baith awreddy weel awaur ay 'at. However, Ah doobt 'at yoo’ve come across anyain quite loch thes mad Scot in yer wrestlin' careers sae far, an' oan Thursday, perhaps I’ll help ye relife some ay yer cheerleadin' stunts, by swingin' ye aroond th' rin', oan mah way tae victory.’
As Rab smiles at the camera, the scene fades to black.
