Opening Round of the New Frontiers Cup
A.J. Fairchild vs. Golden Dragon Yashimoto
[/b][/center]
A loud foghorn sounds three times, the smoke machine fogs the black curtain as "Busy Being Born" by the band Middle Class Rut plays over the the venue's P.A. sound system.
Emerging from the back curtain is A.J. Fairchild who, hops up and down on the tip of his toes getting pumped for his match. A.J. then jogs down the ramp and high fives a few people on his way to the ring.
Cruz: The following contest is an Opening Round Match in the New Frontiers Cup. It is scheduled for one fall with a fifteen minute time limit. Introducing first from Dallas, Texas.... weighing in at 194 pounds.... A.J. FAIRCHILD!
A.J. slides in the ring, and runs towards the nearest turnbuckle. A.J. scales the top of the turnbuckle and throws up a hook'em horns hand sign before jumping down from the turnbuckle.
Clement: A.J. Fairchild at one point was looked at as the future of FGA. He may still very well be perceived as such. But at the time, Fairchild was as hot as they come. But after a losing encounter to Mike Smith, things took a turn for the worse.
Grayson: Go ahead, you can say it. He freefalled. He even admitted himself. He got lazy. He got complacent. The motivation wasn't there. Now it is. But is it too late? Is it too late for A.J. Fairchild to finally grow up and take what he wants?
Clement: Wait, what is this?
The camera turns to A.J. Fairchild in the ring, getting ready for his match against Golden Dragon when suddenly
(The lights dim in the Du Burns Arena. The crowd is confused as there seems to be a power outage in the arena. Then, "Hall Of Freedom" by Tyr hits the PA as the arena is filled with strobing purple lights. There is a scattering of cheers in the arena but most still have no idea what is going on. The music abruptly stops and the arena goes dark again. After a couple seconds, the lights come back up and Brandon "B2" Barajas is standing in the entrance way. The fans see him and he is met by a chorus of boos from the FGA fans. He raises his arms to bask in the hatred of the fans for a few moments.)
B2: So apparently all you shit sippers know who I am.
(He quickly dodges a cup of beer thrown his way and grins. After the crowd settles down, he points towards the ring where A.J. Fairchild stands.)
B2: But who in the hell are you?
(B2 begins to scratch his head, then points at the ring.)
B2: You are A.J. Fairchild! One of the fresh faces of Frontier Grappling Arts. Well let me say A.J., it is a pleasure to meet such an up and coming blue chipper such as yourself. Allow me to introduce myself for those of you who think the wrestling world begins and ends with FGA. I'm Brandon Barajas and I am the agent for one of the most devastating forces to ever grace a wrestling ring...Maximum Violence.
(Another wave of boos at the mention of Maximum Violence's name.)
B2: Oh, you've heard of him? That's good to know. A.J., I'm sure you know who Maximum Violence is.
A.J. Fairchild: No I really don't I think I maybe was still in capri pants watching nickelodeon at the time. Maybe if I dust off some old betamax or vhs tapes I'll see who you're talking about.
B2: Well your opinion of Max means as much to him as the opinion of these insipid morons. But I'm not here to watch some overrated wrestlers fight it out for some bowling trophy. I'm here because I heard through the grapevine that you were going to call out someone from FRONTIER, the superior organization.
(Chants of "FRONTIER SUCKS" ring through the arena. While the fans voice their hatred of FRONTIER, B2 reaches into his suit and pulls out an envelope and starts to walk down the aisle towards the ring. A.J. blocks B2 from entering the ring, but then slowly backs off as he cautiously enters.)
B2: What I have here is a contract. This contract is for the upcoming pwF vs. FGA Supershow. Maximum Violence wasn't planning on making his debut so early, but I think we can make an exception for such a young upstart like yourself.
(B2 opens the envelope and extends the contract to A.J. which he quickly snatches away. He then pulls out a pen and tosses it to A.J.)
B2: All you have to do is put your name on the dotted line, and you will have a match against a man who takes great pride in putting young punks like you on the shelf. I'll give you some time to think about it.
(B2 turns to leave the ring, but A.J. grabs his shoulder. B2 turns around and his smug look is replaced with worry as A.J. is grinning menacingly.)
A.J. Fairchild: But so you know, that when I sign this paper all bets are off. I don't pull any punches, and I don't stop until your client's heart stops first. Sir, you've just signed off your client's own death warrant.
(A.J. signs the contract and throws the paper in B2's face. While B2 is distracted, A.J. kicks B2 in the gut and sends him crashing to the mat with a DDT. The crowd erupts as he points toward the turnbuckle and begins to ascend the ropes. He waits for a moment as if he is reconsidering his actions, but shrugs it off and flies through the air, nailing B2 with The Fairchild Special. A.J. bends down to pick up a mic and kneels down over the lifeless body of B2.)
A.J. Fairchild: Because when you challenge the pissed off teenager of professional wrestling, you've issued a declaration off war! So tell your Frontier brothers that I'm headhunting you and whoever else dares to cross my path...
("Busy Being Born" by Middle Class Rut starts up as A.J. puts the contract back in B2's suit and exits the ring, leaving FGA officials to help B2 up and to the back.)
[ FADE OUT ]
Clement: And we're back. As you've just heard, it will now be A.J. Fairchild versus Maximum Violence at the FRONTIERvsFGA show in a couple weeks. Hopefully that's the last we'll see of those pwF guys tonight.
Grayson: Who cares. If they want a war, they'll get a war. They can recruit whoever they want. They won't be able to match the best grapplers that FGA has to offer.
"Madhouse" by Anthrax begins to play as GDY and his manager Katana step out from behind the curtain. They threaten to slap or attack any fans within striking range and then make their way toward the ring.
Cruz: And his opponent, being accompanied to the ring by Katana. From Tokyo, Japan... weighing in at 228 pounds.... GOLDEN DRAGON YASHIMOTO!
In the corner Katana and GDY take in the boos of the crowd as they conspire on how to cheat their way to a victory and avoid the initial pat down of the referee.
Clement: Yashimoto shocked fans all over as he tried to fork Ryan Kidd at the conclusion of their match just two weeks ago. And then just recently, he brutally mauled a member of A.J. Fairchild's fan club. This man is truly off his rocker.
Grayson: He's very unstable. But there's a method to his madness. Underneath all that wild behavior is a man who knows exactly what he's doing. Yashimoto is crazy like a fox. And if Fairchild doesn't watch himself, he could get caught in a trap that he can't get out of.
The bell sounds as GDY immediately goes crazy, throwing out random swipes, kicks and punches as he makes his way across the ring and towards A.J. Fairchild.
Clement: And here goes Yashimoto already!
Fairchild quickly drops and rolls out of the ring to safety. Once Fairchild goes to the outside, GDY immediately drops down to all fours. As Fairchild motions to his left, GDY begins to crawl to his right. As Fairchild begins to go to his right, GDY goes to his left. Fairchild then points at GDY as he looks to the crowd with a “what in the hell is going on here?' expression on his face.
Clement: I hear you, A.J. What in the world IS going on here?
Grayson: He's falling into the trap already. Look at him off his game. Look at how he already has no clue.
After the ref motions for GDY to go back the center of the ring, Fairchild cautiously climbs up onto the apron. Just as he's about to step through the ropes, GDY runs over to attack him. But Fairchild quickly hops down just in time. GDY kicks the bottom rope before dropping down on all fours again. The ref once again reprimands GDY and tells him to back up so that Fairchild can get back in the ring. As GDY slowly crawls backwards towards the far corner, Fairchild cautiously climbs up onto the apron and slowly steps back into the ring. Once Fairchild is back in, GDY reaches up, grabs the top ropes with both hands and pulls himself up in the corner. The two begin to circle the ring. The audio picks up GDY muttering his infamous “heh.....heh,heh” as he never takes his eyes off of Fairchild. The two then motion to lock up, but GDY steps back, drops to his back and rolls out of the ring to boos from the crowd.
Clement: What in the world?
Grayson: Yashimoto has everyone in this place confused. What he's doing is absolutely working. While he's got A.J. confused over his antics, he's already thinking five steps ahead to the point where he tries to use that fork on him.
Fairchild stands there frustrated with his arms crossed as GDY slowly circles the ring. After each corner he passes, GDY grabs the ring drapes and pulls it up, looking for something underneath the ring. Just when they least expect it, GDY lunges over towards the barricade and sticks out his tongue, scaring the fans in the front row. The crowd boos as GDY continues to torment the fans by kicking the barricade and making all kinds of unrecognizable noises. While GDY's back is turned, Fairchild is near the ropes. Once GDY turns around, Fairchild knocks him down with a springboard senton to the outside. The crowd cheers before breaking out into a chant.
Crowd: A.J. Fairchild, * CLAP-CLAP, CLAP-CLAP, CLAP * A.J. Fairchild, * CLAP-CLAP, CLAP-CLAP, CLAP * A.J. Fairchild, * CLAP-CLAP, CLAP-CLAP, CLAP *
Clement: A.J. Fairchild has clearly had enough of Yashimoto's antics as he knocks him down with a huge dive.
Grayson: I admit, it was a mistake to keep his back turned for that long. But I still say Yashimoto is still in control.
Fairchild picks up GDY and rolls him back into the ring. He then climbs up onto the apron and waits impatiently for GDY to get up. Once GDY gets up and turns around, Fairchild connects with a springboard dropkick, sending GDY stumbling to the canvas. The crowd cheers as GDY's momentum sends him rolling underneath the bottom rope and to the outside. Fairchild gets in the ring and crouches down, waiting for GDY to get up. Once GDY pulls himself up using the edge of the apron, Fairchild runs towards the ropes. GDY sees this, so he quickly moves out of the way. But Fairchild knew he was going to move, so he doesn't dive to the outside. Instead, he slides to the outside and proceeds to chase GDY around the ring to cheers from the crowd.
Clement: And there goes Yashimoto running for dear life!
Grayson: A.J. is almost within arm's length of him!
GDY rolls back into the ring. As soon as GDY slides back in, GDY nails him with a running punt kick to the side of the head. The crowd boos as Fairchild clutches the side of his head in pain. GDY then picks up Fairchild, runs into the corner and slams his head into the top turnbuckle. He then turns Fairchild around and mudhole stomps him down into the corner. GDY proceeds to give him a series of punches to the face, followed by a series of knee strikes to the face, followed by a choke using his foot. The ref gives him until the count of five to break the hold.
Ref: 1...................2...................3...................4...............5.
The ref goes to scold GDY, but GDY turns and stalks the ref, sending the ref fleeing for his safety. Once GDY turns around, he sees Fairchild pulling himself up slowly in the corner. So GDY charges into the corner and goes for a yakuza kick. But Fairchild moves out of the way, causing GDY's foot to get caught over the turnbuckle. While GDY is stuck, Fairchild takes advantage and kicks GDY's leg out from under him, knocking him down. The crowd cheers. GDY gets back up, but Fairchild knocks him down with a right hand. The crowd cheers. GDY gets back up, but Fairchild knocks him down with another right hand. The crowd cheers. GDY gets up and stumbles into the ropes. As Fairchild goes over to approach him, GDY nails him with a kick to the midsection. He then quickly grabs Fairchild, places him in a side headlock and then rakes his eyes along the top rope to boos from the crowd. After Fairchild stumbles into the corner, GDY comes up from behind and rakes his back. Fairchild can be seen arching his back in pain to boos from the crowd. GDY then turns him around and nails him with a throat thrust, sending Fairchild stumbling from out of the corner. GDY then follows him around the ring, spins him around and knees him in the midsection. He takes Fairchild and whips him into the ropes. When Fairchild comes back, GDY knocks him down with a back elbow to the face. He makes the cover.

Fairchild gets his shoulder up.
Clement: Yashimoto, walking that fine line like he always does. If he doesn't watch himself, he could get himself disqualified.
Grayson: As if he cares. All Yashimoto wants is his fork firmly planted into Fairchild's forehead.
As GDY picks up Fairchild, Fairchild nails him with punches to the midsection. But GDY stops the comeback with a mongolian chop that brings Fairchild down to one knee. The crowd boos. He then picks up Fairchild, snapmares him over and delivers a dropkick to the back of the head. The crowd boos as GDY sticks out his tongue. He then sits Fairchild up, kneels down behind him and bites his forehead to boos from the crowd. Fairchild fails his arms around as the ref gives GDY until the count of five to break it up.
Ref: 1.......................2....................3..................4..............
GDY lets go...........only to fishook Fairchild and try to rip apart his mouth The crowd boos as Fairchild can be heard moaning in pain.
Ref: 1.......................2....................3..................4..............
GDY reluctantly lets go. He then picks up Fairchild and nails him with a punch to the midsection that doubles him over. GDY then grabs Fairchild and goes for a vertical suplex. But Fairchild slips down from behind. Fairchild then tries for a german suplex. But GDY blocks it and counters with an elbow to the face, breaking the hold. While Fairchild is dazed, GDY runs into the ropes. When he comes back, GDY goes for a clothesline. But Fairchild ducks. When GDY turns around, Fairchild connects with a pele kick, sending GDY stumbling through the ropes and to the apron. The crowd cheers.
Clement: Awesome display of athleticism right there by Fairchild with that backflip kick.
Grayson: He's got Yashimoto dazed. He better get on him before he comes back to his senses...
Fairchild turns around, picks up GDY off the apron and goes to suplex him back into the ring. But GDY slips down and nails him with a tomahawk chop to the back of the neck. The crowd boos. He then brings Fairchild away from the ropes and goes for a german suplex. But Fairchild lands on his feet to cheers from the crowd. Fairchild then turns and runs into the ropes as GDY gets up. When Fairchild comes back, he takes down GDY with a flying headscissors takeover. The crowd cheers. GDY gets up, but Fairchild grabs him and whips him into the ropes. When GDY comes back, Fairchild throws him down with a back body drop. The crowd cheers as GDY arches his back in pain. As GDY slowly gets up, Fairchild creeps up from behind, jumps up and brings him down with a backstabber. The crowd cheers as Fairchild makes the cover.

GDY gets his shoulder up. The crowd sighs as Fairchild thought he had it.
Clement: Near fall there for Fairchild.
Grayson: Close, but no cigar. Sort of like his last couple of times out in the ring.
Fairchild picks up GDY, only to double him over with a spinning back kick to the gut. He follows up with a hesitation swinging neckbreaker that takes GDY down. The crowd cheers. Fairchild then gets up and points to the top rope. The crowd cheers. So Fairchild steps through the ropes and begins to climb the turnbuckles. But once he reaches the top, GDY intentionally runs into the ropes, forcing Fairchild to lose his balance, fall and wind up crotched on the top turnbuckle. The crowd boos.
Clement: A.J. now hung up on that top turnbuckle with a bloodthirsty Yashimoto looking to rip him apart.
Grayson: He took too much time and now he's paying for it.
GDY then heads into the corner, climbs up to the second turnbuckle and goes for the Snap Dragon. But Fairchild blocks the move. So GDY lets go, nails him with a throat thrust and then tries again. But again, Fairchild blocks the move. So GDY lets go and bites Fairchild's forehead to boos from the crowd. He then grabs Fairchild and goes for the Snap Dragon again. But again, Fairchild blocks the move. So GDY lets go and throws a right hand. But Fairchild blocks and counters with one of his own. He nails GDY with another one.... and another..... and another. Finally, Fairchild shoves GDY off the turnbuckles and down to the canvas. The crowd cheers as GDY arches his back in pain. Fairchild then stands up on the top turnbuckle, leaps off and connects with the Fairchild Special. The crowd cheers as he hooks the leg.

"Busy Being Born" blasts over the PA to cheers from the crowd.
Cruz: Here is your winner, A.J. FAIRCHILD!
Fairchild gets up and allows the ref to raise his arm to cheers from the crowd. Fairchild quickly peeks behind him to see if GDY is going to attack him.
Clement: Smart move there by Fairchild. The last time someone has their back turned to Yashimoto after a match, they were almost attacked with a fork. But Fairchild avoided the fork and the Snap Dragon as he advances to the semifinals.
Grayson: A.J. Fairchild is trying to get his swagger back. This is a step in the right direction. He said all the right things and had all the quotables going into this event. But can he continue to build off of all that and make it to the finals?
