Scott Reave vs. James Weck
The lights quickly cut to black, and there is nothing but the small flicker of flame from lighters in the audience. A startling drum beat is heard throughout the PA system, followed by a voice proclaiming
“We put this festival on you bastards
With a lotta love
We worked for one year for you pigs
And you wanna break our walls down
And you wanna destroy us
Well you go to hell!”
As “Hell” cuts out, it’s replaced by the familiar twang of rhythm guitar from “Fuckin’ in the Bushes” by Oasis. The lights over the entrance way begin to flicker on and off repeatedly, manipulating the world into a series of still shots. We see a figure image from behind the curtain, wearing a black zip-up hoodie with the hood pulled up along with his ring attire. He keeps the hoodie low over his face as he surveys the crowd tonight before walking down the ramp and towards the steel steps. He then quickly jogs up the steps and onto the second turnbuckle, where he poses for the fans in a familiar crucifix position.
Cruz: The following contest is scheduled for one fall with a thirty minute time limit. Introducing first..... from The Bowery.... Weighing in at 225 pounds.... He is The One and Only, SCOTT REAVE!
He then jumps over the turnbuckles and lands firmly in the corner. He walks to the middle of the ring, pauses for a moment, and then lifts the hood to reveal Scott Reave with a shit-eating grin. He then shuffles on over to his corner, where he pulls off the hoodie and leans into the turnbuckle, the lights come up and the music fades as he leans there, awaiting for his opponent.
Roberts: Scott Reave makes his FRONTIER debut tonight against James Weck. Scott is a man who, despite whatever out-of-the-ring activities he may or may not partake in, is a man that has all the tools to get to the very top of FRONTIER Grappling Arts. He's brash. He's arrogant. But he can back it up, as he's garnered a reputation as the ultimate opportunist and in some people's eyes, even the greatest effort. But that remains to be seen as tonight, he faces a tough challenge in the form of Incarnation of Determination.
"Perfect Insanity" from Disturbed hits the P.A., and Weck slowly and purposefully steps out onto the ramp. He stands still, eyes staring dead at the center of the ring, whether there is an opponent inside of it or not. He takes his time, not letting the crowds catcalls or grab handing distract him in the least.
Cruz: And his opponent.... From Paramus, New Jersey..... Weighing in at 245 pounds..... JAMES WECK!
James climbs the apron, then turns and stares out towards the crowd as if he is looking for something. When he does not see it, his eyes become enraged and his head begins to shake. He quickly gets into the ring between the top and middle rope, and marches toward the center of the ring, ready for action.
Roberts: James Weck is fresh off of his loss last week to Jared James. Some have called it an upset. Some have called it a fluke. We've heard what both men have had to say about the other thus far here tonight. But as much as that loss may eat up at James, he has to stay focused on the very dangerous man that stands across the ring from him here tonight.
The bell sounds as both wrestlers circle the ring. After inching closer towards each other, they lock up. After jockeying for position, Weck throws Reave down to the canvas. As Reave rolls up onto his knees, Weck goes over towards him, beats his chest three times and then raises his arms in the air. The crowd boos while Reave looks on with an unimpressed expression on his face. He then gets up to his feet and circles the ring. He moves over towards Weck and locks up with him. After jockeying for position, Weck uses his strength advantage to move Reave over towards the ropes. Once Reave's back is pressed up against the ropes, the ref goes over and tells both men to break it up by the count of five.
Ref: 1.....................2..................3..................4..............
Weck lets go, but not before giving Reave a shove to the chest.
Roberts: Weck now trying to play some mind games. He's trying to establish this ring as his. But I'm not sure how much that will work against a veteran like Scott Reave.
Weck backs away from Reave while Reave nonchalantly wipes off his chest with the back of his hand. After slapping both of his arms, Reave circles the ring. He inches closer and closer. Reave goes for a collar & elbow tie-up. But he quickly shoots down and yanks Weck down to the mat with a single leg takedown. He quickly makes the cover. 1..................Weck kicks out. Reave quickly applies a grounded side headlock. The ref asks Weck if he wants to give up. But Weck refuses to quit. After turning over onto his knees, Weck slowly gets up to his feet. He's then able to reverse the side headlock into a hammerlock from behind. The ref asks Reave is he wants to give up. But Reave declines. He then quickly elbows Weck in the face before performing a standing switch. He follows up with a hammerlock of his own. He repeatedly jerks the arm, increasing the pressure. Weck goes to elbow him, but Reave moves his head out of the way. Weck then quickly reaches down, grabbing one of Reave's legs and yanking it out from under him, breaking the hold and sending Reave falling back-first to the canvas. Weck quickly turns around and goes for a leg hold. But Reave uses his legs to shove Weck away from him. As Reave quickly tries to get up, he's met by a side headlock from Weck. Weck then performs a standing switch, transitioning into a waistlock from behind. He then hoists Reave up and throws him down with a waistlock takedown.
Roberts: Nice takedown there from Weck. Both of these men are accomplished amateur wrestlers, so they should have no problem taking things to the mat....
As Reave pushes himself up from off his stomach and gets up onto his knees, Weck brings him back up to his feet, only to hoist him up and throw him down with another waistlock takedown. Weck spins around Reave's back and applies a front facelock. The ref asks Reave if he wants to give up. But Reave refuses to quit. After Reave slowly gets up on one knee, he gets up on both. He then gets up to his feet. He uses his strength to move Weck into the corner. Once Weck is in the corner, Reave reaches out and grabs the middle rope, forcing the ref to break the hold. The ref gives Weck until the count of five to break the hold.
Ref: 1......................2....................3.....................4.............
Weck reluctantly breaks the hold. Once he's free, Reave returns the favor, giving Weck a shove to the chest before backing away from him. Anger comes across Weck's face while Reave cracks a smirk.
Roberts: Reave now returning the favor for that shove from before. And judging by Weck's face, I think it's clear who is exactly in whose head.
After Weck walks out of the corner, the two begin to circle the ring. They attempt to lock up. But Reave quickly ducks the collar and elbow tie-up attempt and swings around Weck, applying a waistlock from behind. He then quickly transitions over to the arm, trying to bring Weck down to the mat with a fujiwara armbar. But Weck stays on his knees and keeps the palm of his free hand pressed firmly on the canvas, preventing Reave from pushing him flush against the canvas and locking the move on. Reave then gets back to his feet and delivers several clubbing shots to the arm. After bringing Weck back up to his feet, Reave nails him with a kick to the midsection, followed by an arm wrench. He then raises Weck's arm, applying a top wristlock. The ref asks Weck if he wants to give up, but Weck refuses to quit. So Reave kicks him in the ribs and follows up with another arm wrench. Reave takes Weck by the arm and delivers a clubbing shot to the arm before delivering another arm wrench. Reave transitions into a side headlock, but Weck shoves Reave off of him and into the ropes. When Reave comes back, Weck knocks him down with a standing shoulderblock. After shaking off the pain in his arm, Weck heads towards the ropes. Reave then gets back up to his feet. When Weck comes back, Reave leap frogs over him. Weck continues to run into the ropes. When Weck comes back, Reave goes for a hip toss. But Weck steps through it and throws down Reave with a hip toss of his own. Reave gets back up, but Weck knocks him down with a clothesline. Reave gets up, only to get knocked back down by another clothesline. As Reave gets up, Weck goes for another running clothesline. But this time, Reave ducks. When Weck turns around, Reave leaps up and takes him down with a jumping armbreaker. He quickly makes the cover. 1...........................2..................Weck kicks out.
Roberts: A kickout in time by Weck. But Reave has already begun to target his arm. The more Reave works over that arm, the less likely Weck will be able to get him up for the Weck Drop or even the Weck Plex....
Reave sits up Weck and applies a buffalo armlock. Reave can be heard telling the ref to “ask him”. The referee obliges, asking Weck if he wants to give up, but Weck refuses to quit. After slowly turning over onto his knees, Weck begins to get up to his feet. But he's met with a knee strike to the midsection. After a right hand to the face and a shoot kick to the arm, Reave takes Weck and whips him into the ropes. When Weck comes back, Reave goes for a clothesline. But Weck ducks and runs into the ropes. Reave goes for an early leap frog. But Weck hooks himself on the ropes. Once Reave lands back on the canvas, Weck darts over and knocks him down with a running forearm strike to the face. While Reave is down, Weck circles the ring, trying his best to shake off the pain in his arm. Once he sees Reave turning over and attempting to get up, Weck storms over and puts the boots to him. He then reaches down, grabs Reave by his hair, picks him up, runs into the corner and slams his head into the top turnbuckle. After turning Reave around in the corner, Weck unleashes a series of knee strikes to the midsection, followed by an elbow strike to the face. Weck steps back, only to nail Reave with a haymaker to the midsection that doubles him over in pain. While Reave is bent over, Weck nails him with a hard clubbing shot to the back that brings him down to his knee. While Reave arches his back in pain, Weck reaches down, picks him back up in the corner and nails him with a headbutt. Reave stumbles out of the corner, clutching his face with his hand in pain. But Weck is right behind him. He grabs a hold of Reave and whips him into the ropes. When Reave comes back, Weck knocks him down with a back elbow to the face. He makes the cover. 1..............................2.................Reave kicks out.
Roberts: Pin attempt only gets two. Weck is frantically trying to shake off the pain in his arm while he's got Reave down. Weck is trying to gain control of this thing. The more this fight goes to the ground, the more it goes in Reave's favor. Weck wants to stay on top and pummel away at him.
Weck picks up Reave, snapmares him over and kicks him square in the back. The thud from the kick can be heard throughout the building. Reave can be seen cringing in pain while he arches his pain. Weck then reaches down, pulls Reave's head back with one hand and nails him with a hammer fist to the face using the other. He then reaches down, picks up Reave and throws him down with a scoop slam. He follows up with a knee drop to the face. He makes the cover. 1................................2.................Reave kicks out. Weck charges, but Reave nails him with an elbow strike to the face. While Weck stumbles back, Reave quickly hoists himself up onto the middle turnbuckle and leaps off, going for a flying jujigatame. But Weck quickly sidesteps and swats him down. As Reave turns over and tries to get up, Weck runs over and takes him down with a swinging neckbreaker. He makes the cover. 1............................2..................Reave gets his shoulder up. Weck picks up Reave and whips him hard into the corner. As Reave stumbles out, Weck kicks him in the midsection and lifts him up in the air. After holding Reave up for 10 seconds, Weck falls back, hitting a vertical suplex. Weck picks up Reave and whips him into the ropes. When Reave comes back, Weck goes for a clothesline. But Reave ducks and runs into the ropes. When Reave comes back, he goes for a cross body block. But Weck counters and throws him down with a powerslam. Weck then gets up, goes over to Reave's legs, lifts them up and turns him over, applying a kneeling single leg liontamer. Reave can be heard moaning in pain while Weck places his knee into his back.
Roberts: Weck has the liontamer locked in. Reave is square in the middle of the ring with nowhere to go. Weck was working on the back for a reason and now we see why. Will Weck be able to make Reave, the submission specialist tap out?
The ref asks Reave if he wants to give up. But Reave refuses to quit. So Weck pulls back, applying more pressure. Reave can be seen cringing in pain. The ref asks him if he wants to give up. But again, Reave refuses to quit. So Weck pulls back even farther, applying more pressure. Reave lets out a quick scream. The ref asks him if he wants to give up. But Reave refuses to quit. When Weck turns around, Reave gets up and throws a kick to the midsection. But Weck catches his foot and spins him around. When Reave comes back, he quickly takes Weck down with the R.C.D.
Roberts: Reave Crash Dynamite! He's got it locked in! This isn't good for Weck. First Weck had Reave in the liontamer in the middle of the ring. Now Reave's got him locked in with the submission move with nowhere to go!

Reave clutches the back of his head in pain while Weck stumbles into the ropes, clutching his arm in pain.
Weck: Both of these men are hurt. They've given each other nearly everything they have. Which man will be able to capaitalize and gain the upperhand?

Cruz: Here is your winner, SCOTT REAVE!
“Fuckin’ in the Bushes” by Oasis plays as Scott Reave slowly gets up, holding his back in pain. The referee then goes over and raises his arm in the air to boos from the crowd.
Roberts: Scott Reave pulls off the victory over James Weck. It was a hard fought match. Both of these men took it to each other like we knew they would. But in the end, Reave saw his opening and qucikly capitalized, knocking out Weck and earning himself a victory. But I'd hate to be anyone near James Weck once he wakes up. This is two weeks in a row that he has tasted defeat. He isn't the most calm person, anyway. But once he wakes up, I think all hell may break loose....
