Chaifetz Arena St. Louis, MO Kris Cruise: Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Vertigo! I’m Kris Cruise. Stephy Auger is once again on assignment, so joining me tonight is Geoff Penzer. Geoff, welcome! Geoff Penzer: Hello once again everyone from ringside. Geoff Penzer here and tonight, we’ve reached a milestone. 100 episodes of Vertigo. Did you ever think you’d see yourself calling 100 episodes? Kris Cruise: Never in my wildest dreams. It’s a pleasure to be here and it’s been a privilege to call the action for the past seven years alongside Stephy and yourself here tonight. We’ve had a lot of great action over the years. Titles have changed. Big names have debuted and returned. Throughout everything, Vertigo has withstood the test of time. It’s the flagship show for a reason. I’m just very blessed to have been apart of this and here’s to another 100! Geoff Penzer: Here, here! Tonight, we continue the road to Only the Strong Survive. In fact, it’s the last stop for before Only the Strong Survive. You look at this roster and you see all of the rivalries and what have you. This is pretty much the last chance for these great athletes to get a leg up on the competition heading into the pay per view. Kris Cruise: That’s right. You always want to leave these go-home shows with the advantage. There’s a ton of grapplers on the card from top to bottom who will be looking to get that advantage heading into Only the Strong Survive. Let’s run down the card. Geoff Penzer: In our opener, we’ve got Patrick Jones taking on Gwen Margolis. Gwen will be stepping out into singles action. I believe this is her first-ever singles match in FGA. It will be a tough go against a veteran like Patrick Jones. Admittedly, neither grappler has had the best 2022. But it’s better late than never to turn it around. Kris Cruise: In our next contest, Mark Storm goes up against Logan Alexander. It should be an exciting one seeing these two veterans mix it up. Storm is coming off of an unsuccessful United States Title challenge while Logan Alexander is on a bit of a losing streak. Both grapplers will look to get back to their winning ways in this one. Geoff Penzer: After that, we’ve got the other half of Projekt Illuminati in action as Monty Margolis, Gwen’s uncle, will go head to head against Henny. We know Henny’s got that big match against Owen Gonsalves at Only the Strong Survive. He’d love to pick up a quick, easy win here to head into the pay per view as close to 100 percent as possible. But Monty is no pushover. He won’t make it easy. Over the years, we’ve seen some major upsets on Vertigo. We could see another one in this matchup. Kris Cruise: Vertigo rolls on with Owen Gonsalves going one on one with Zack Gall. Gall isn’t having the best 2022, either. But if he can lure Owen into his style of fight and make this a striking contest, he can give himself a chance. Owen will need to do what he does best and that’s slow the action down, wrestle him to the mat and work him over with submissions. We’ll see what strategy Wristlock Sinatra employs later on. Geoff Penzer: John Carmichael goes up against Ashley Sands in his last match before challenging for the FGA World Championship at Only the Strong Survive. Don’t sleep on Ashley Sands, folks. She’s more than capable of handling herself in the ring and has pushed some of the very best to their limit. Kris Cruise: Also on tap here tonight, Sparrow will defend his United States Champion against the Las Vegas Siren, Savannah Taylor. Taylor was not only the first person to win the US Title, but she was the first person to win it twice. Will she be the first to win it three times? If Sparrow looks past Taylor and focuses on TJ Techniques and the Rumble, he would very well be leaving St. Louis without a title. Geoff Penzer: Then, in our main event. We’ve got a huge 8-Person Tag Team match. On one side of the ring, we’ve got Lowri Moss, Fujiko Mine, Julian Tijerina and Antoinette. On the other side of that ring, we’ve got Seth Iser, Nina Stokes, Ace Voltage and Mara Jade Miller. The skill level is already off the charts. But when you take into account the explosive personalities and the rivalries on both sides, we have the potential to see a main event for the ages. Kris Cruise: We’ve got plenty of acton for you all here tonight. We’ll also be taking a look at a couple of the stars tonight during their first match on Vertigo over the years. Right now, let’s take a look at the Vertigo debuts of both Patrick Jones and Gwen Margolis.

Patrick Jones vs. Gwen Margolis Margolis tries to come right at Jones from the start of the opening bell, but Jones is right there to bring her down with a pair of arm drags. Margolis is then shot off into the ropes before a belly to belly suplex brings her down for an early two count. From there, Jones brings the action into the corner. He connects with low and middle kicks before a spinning back kick doubles Margolis over. Seconds later, Jones brings her down out of the corner with a springboard Tornado DDT for another two count. Jones continues to control the action. He hits a vertical suplex, rolls over, pulls Margolis back up, hits a bridging Northern Lights Suplex, floats over, pulls Margolis back up and follows up with a double underhook suplex for another two count. Jones then sends Margolis for the ride before following her into the corner. The veteran goes for a corner dropkick, but Margolis dives out of the way, causing Jones to crash into the corner! Seconds later, Jones uses the ropes to pick himself up in the corner, but Margolis is right there to catch him with a running European Uppercut. Margolis whips Jones across the ring, follows him into the far corner and connects with a second running European Uppercut. From there, Margolis sends Jones slumping down in the corner with forearm smashes before squashing him with a running cannonball senton for a two count. Margolis remains in control as she hits a russian leg sweep, followed by a split leg drop for a two count. She then pulls Jones up to a seated position and nails him with two soccer kicks to the back before hitting the ropes. Margolis picks up speed as she returns off the rebound before flattening Jones with a Penalty Kick! NO! Jones catches the leg. After Jones gets back to his feet, Margolis goes to knock him down with an enzuigiri. Jones ducks the kick, pulls Margolis up off the mat from behind and tries for a German Suplex. Margolis blocks with two back elbows to the face before performing a standing switch. She tries for a German Suplex of her own. Jones blocks it at first, then frees himself when he returns the favor with a back elbow of his own. Jones then hits the ropes. When he returns, Margolis brings him down with a Samoan Drop for two. Jones then finds himself placed in a cravat. Margolis tries hard to get the submission, but Jones won't give in. After battling back to a vertical base, Jones catches her with elbows to the midsection before hitting the ropes. Jones returns off the rebound before dropping Margolis with a pair of flying forearms. Jones runs over for a third until he gets cut off with a forearm smash from Margolis. He then gets back to his feet before getting dropped with another forearm smash. Margolis pulls Jones back to his feet and fires off a flurry of forearm smashes to the side of the neck. Jones then shakes off the blows before firing back with a flurry of forearms of his own. After Margolis shakes off the strikes, the two continue to trade forearms back and forth, with Jones hitting Margolis in the face while Margolis catches Jones on the side of the neck. Both grapplers continue to trade blows until Margolis gains the upper hand. After a spinning back kick doubles Jones over, Margolis knocks him upright with a kick to the face before dropping him with a superkick. NO! Jones catches her foot, swings the leg away from him and catches Margolis when she turns around with a spinning back kick of his own. After a kick to the face knocks Margolis upright, Jones connects with low and middle kicks before dropping her with Zoned Out (superkick)! NO! Margolis catches his foot, swings the leg away from him and doubles him over with a discus forearm smash from behind before planting him with a snap piledriver. Margolis then returns to her feet, pulls Jones back up and drapes her leg across the back of his neck before bringing him down with the Texas Twist (Swinging leg hook fireman’s carry slam) for the ONE, TWO, THREE! The camera comes into focus as it's moving down one of the backstage corridors. The sound of footsteps echo from somewhere nearby. The camera pans around to focus backwards from the direction of motion and settles on the forms of Theodore Harris and Logan Alexander walking along behind with Theodore leading the way.
Theodore Harris: Well... it was an improvement.
He looks to the camera.
Theodore Harris: Last Vertigo, Logan faced Savannah Taylor one on one in what turned out to be a top contender match for the United States championship. That was a bit of a last minute addition, but it can be dismissed as it wasn't a distraction or a cause for anxiety or anything. That isn't something that would rattle Logan's composure. The end goal remained the same regardless of what the additional stakes would be, which was to bring a wrestling match to Savannah out there after the horrible result from Grapland. Logan needed to go out and do something simple against a formidable opponent. He had show that he could get out of his own way when it mattered.
He smirks to the camera.
Theodore Harris: I can say he at least did that rather well last time. Like the first part of the match against Antoinette, Logan made a very strong showing against the former International Heavyweight champion out there. He pushed Savannah quite hard through the match and she never really had any sustained periods of offense.
Followed by a frown.
Theodore Harris: Of course, it didn't get the job done in the end.
A knowing look to the camera.
Theodore Harris: I said that Savannah would be able to outclass Logan in any area besides mat wrestling and that was where she was able to take advantage. She used every opportunity that came up to bend the rules or even break them. Ultimately, she got the job done out there and that's all that really matters. I'm not Mark Bisley. I don't whine about things not going our way. So kudos to you Savannah. You outsmarted Logan and picked up the victory. Good luck with your title match tonight.
A nod of acknowledgement.
Theodore Harris: For Logan... well, things are going to continue to be a work in progress for him. It's probably a good thing that he isn't facing Sparrow here tonight. He's not ready for that. Sparrow beat him at his best once already, and I would say that Logan is decidedly not at his best right now. I don't need him to end up like Mark Storm did.
He offers a sour look.
Theodore Harris: That was certainly a rough outing for you last time Mark. Sparrow didn't give you much of a chance to do anything beyond a little back and forth with him early on. Once Sparrow got control of that match, you were done.
And then he shrugs.
Theodore Harris: Despite nursing his further bruised pride, Logan and I did watch that match with interest. Seeing Sparrow pick you apart with a ground game that he didn't possess a year ago was something. Geoff wondered if we would see it as a taunt with Sparrow taking several pages from Logan's typical playbook. Hardly. We view it as a compliment. Looking to fill the gaps in his ground game, Sparrow took inspiration from one of the best mat wrestlers on this roster. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all.
A sincere smile.
Theodore Harris: So that brings up an interesting scenario for tonight. Logan Alexander versus Mark Storm. Mark is coming off a loss to a less experienced and unrefined version of Logan's in ring style. Logan is working to get himself back to peak performance in the ring. So will Mark Storm be facing something better or worse from last week? If better, that certainly doesn't bode well for him. If worse, is it going to be something he'll be able to handle? Logan showed that he is no slouch even on an off night, so where does that leave things here tonight? And just how is Mark going to come in here tonight having let another title opportunity slip through his fingers?
And then a cold glare.
Theodore Harris: Unfortunately, Logan and I don't really care how you're doing after your last match, Mark. Logan's road leads through you tonight and neither of us like the idea of coming up short three times in a row. You can expect to see the Quiet One come out there looking to put you down so that he can move on to fixing the things he needs to set right.
A glance back to Logan, then focusing back on the camera.
Theodore Harris: We'll see you shortly hero.
Theodore nudges the camera aside and walks on past it, Logan following moments later without even acknowledging the camera, which pans to watch them walk away.

Mark Storm vs. Logan Alexander The two veterans start things off with a snug lock up. Alexander is quick to gain the advantage with a side headlock until Storm is able to muscle him over and up against the ropes. Once instructed by the ref to break it up, Alexander let's go once the count reaches "four." The moment Alexander puts his arms up, Storm takes advantage, gripping the middle rope with both hands and unleashing multiple shoulder thrusts to the midsection. The Quiet One is then sent for the ride. Alexander returns off the rebound before Storm sends him flipping down to the mat with a kitchen sink. Your Hero and Mine continues to attack the midsection, catching Alexander off another irish whip rebound with a flapjack! Storm doesn't stop there. He then reaches down, wraps his arms around Alexander's waist and brings him down with a deadlift gutwrench sitout powerbomb for another two count. Alexander gets brought back to his feet before getting thrown down hard with a Sitout Face Slam for another two count. Storm continues to control the action as he whips Alexander back into the ropes. Storm goes to catch him off the rebound with another kitchen sink. This time, Alexander flips over the knee and counters with a schoolboy for a two count. Both grapplers scramble back to their feet before Alexander rolls him up in a small package for another two count. Storm is quick to reverse an irish whip, sending Alexander into the corner. He then rushes in to attack, only to get knocked back with a back elbow to the face. After a boot to the face knocks Storm back a second time, Alexander rushes out of the corner before bringing him down with an inverted bulldog for a two count. Alexander starts to really take control of the action. An inverted atomic drop leads to a back body drop. After a pointed elbow drop off the middle rope, Alexander looks to end things early with the Dying Echo (Sharpshooter version), but Storm hasn't been worn down enough and uses the strength in his legs to push Alexander off of him and to the mat. Once both grapplers are back to their feet, Alexander rushes in and tries for a spear. Storm counters with a knee lift that knocks the Quiet One upright. Alexander remains dazed while Storm turns and hits the ropes. Storm comes back and comes to a stop when he sees Alexander run past him towards the same set of ropes. When Alexander returns off the rebound, Storm leapfrogs over him. NO! Alexander catches him in mid air, turns and throws him down with a spinebuster for a two count! Alexander takes control of Storm's back and hits A Long Pause (multiple bridging German Suplexes). On the fifth suplex, Alexander goes a release German, but Storm's able to rotate and land on his feet. Storm then runs over and throws out a discus lariat, only for Alexander to counter with the Full Stop (STO)! Storm is slowly pulled up back to his feet before he gets placed in an inverted front facelock. From there, Alexander lifts him up and drops him on his head with Dead Air (inverted Implant DDT)! With Storm on the ropes, Alexander pulls his opponent back up before lifting him up in a Canadian backbreaker rack. Alexander keeps Storm in the hold before flipping him off his shoulder and bringing him down with The Silencer (Ace Crusher) for the ONE, TWO, THREE! HENNY vs. Monty Margolis HENNY and Margolis motion for a lock up, only for HENNY to drop him with a sucker punch. The crowd lets HENNY have it as he follows up with multiple stomps to the chest. After yanking Margolis off the mat, HENNY muscles him up against the ropes. He then hooks both of Margolis' arms around the top rope before lighting up his chest with knife edge chops. HENNY unhooks the arms and goes for an irish whip until Margolis reverses. When HENNY returns, Margolis brings him down with a back body drop. HENNY arches his back as he returns to a vertical base. Margolis is quick to run up from behind and bring HENNY down with an arm-trap backstabber for a one count. Margolis goes to send HENNY for the ride. He sets up for another back body drop on the return. This time, HENNY sees it coming. So he runs over, grabs two handful's of hair and throws Margolis down violently with a mat slam. Margolis immediately curls up after the back of his head smacks hard against the canvas. HENNY quickly sees his opening and takes advantage with multiple stomps to the head. He adds insult to injury by kicking Margolis over into the prone position, mounting onto his back and rubbing his face against the mat. HENNY continues to strike, battering Margolis with forearms and hammer fists across the back of the head and neck. Once Margolis gets yanked back to his feet, HENNY snapmares him over and follows up with a dropkick to the back of the head for a two count. Margolis is then yanked up off the mat before getting sent for the ride. When Margolis returns, HENNY returns the favor with a back body drop of his own. The crowd gasps when Margolis ends up over-rotating and landing face down on the mat. The ref goes to check on Margolis until HENNY nudges him out of the way. After HENNY yanks him up and whips him hard into the corner, he runs over to attack. Margolis knocks him back with a back elbow to the face, then a boot to the face. NO! HENNY catches his foot in time. Margolis is then dragged out of the corner until an enzuigiri drops HENNY to a knee. Margolis then hits the ropes, returns and brings HENNY down with a basement hurricanrana. He follows up with a somersault senton for a two count. Margolis then sets up HENNY for a Butterfly Suplex until HENNY breaks the underhooks, yanks him down with a standing double leg and follows up with a catapult, sending Margolis face-first into the top turnbuckle. Margolis begins to stumble back before HENNY takes a page out of Owen Gonsalves' book with the Paroxysm (Snap Dragon Suplex)! Margolis' moment sends him rolling backwards onto his knees before HENNY flattens him with a sliding forearm smash. HENNY makes the cover and gets the ONE, TWO, TH-NO! HENNY yanks up Margolis' head to an eruption of boos. After whipping Margolis hard into the turnbuckles, Margolis starts to stagger out of the corner until HENNY turns him inside out with If U Seek HENNY (Busaiku Knee Kick)! HENNY then grabs a groggy Margolis by the hair and pulls him up to his knees. After taunting Margolis by blowing him a kiss, HENNY crushes him with Heartache’s Kiss (Kamigoye) for the ONE, TWO, THREE! HENNY O || Heartache’s Kiss (5:36) || Monty Margolis X

We then head toward the interview room where there’s this green curtain with the Vertigo logo and the number 100 in a little different font on it behind there. In front of the curtain is Amanda Johnson and she does look toward the camera with an inviting smile. She’s dressed in an elegant yet professional fashion with the long red and orange like dress that’s representative of the Flashpoint colors. Amanda Johnson: We have had quite the show that’s gone on and with both the United States title match and the eight person tag yet to go on, I would wager that we’d have more fireworks. Speaking of part of that eight person tag, Seth Iser…come on in here. Seth ends up walking in to Amanda’s right and unlike the chipper expression Amanda is going with for this festive evening he seems a little bit sour even by his usual standards with a protruding sneer glued on his mug. He’s already dressed in his wrestling attire, a black and red variation, the standard Iser look with the unbuttoned black trench jacket on. He also has a wrap over his forehead to protect a recent cut of war from Millennium’s pay per view recently. Amanda Johnson: You are one of the participants in this main event and some are even calling you one of the favorites to win the Gold Rush Rumble…without giving away strategy, you’ll be dealing with your three partners potentially in the Rumble but have to team with them tonight. How does this affect your mindframe for tonight? Seth just glances in her direction without changing expression, that sour look still blanketed over his face as he digests that question. Seth Iser: It doesn’t at all. The blunt answer comes out in that low tone. After an awkward second and Amanda looks at quizzically wanting that answer clarified further, Seth’s eyes narrow ever so slightly. Seth Iser: Wrestlers are mercenaries more often than not. Maybe not a Sparrow or Lowri who defy that characterization but a lot of us are. We make more money when we win then when we lose. Nina Stokes, Ace, and ultra dangerous Mara Jade Miller do all have one thing in common with me despite all four of us being…very different people. We hate losing. We don’t give a damn how it looks…but when the bell rings we do whatever it takes to whomever it takes to get our hand raised. If it means getting our hands dirty…that doesn’t bother any of us. Never has with me… There is a hint of arrogance protruding through in that last sentence as that sneer remains glued over his scarred face. The veteran continues before Amanda can interject after a brief pause. Seth Iser: We worry about the Rumble…at the Rumble. Besides…who the hell wouldn’t want to pin Lowri in this main event for example? If a world title shot can be given for one damned ambush, I think pinning her in this match would make a much stronger case for one wouldn’t you? Just in case one of us doesn’t win the Gold Rush Rumble…that’s a damn good fallback option and damn good motivation. I know the others like Ace or Mara have their own fish to fry in that fatal fourway but…I’m sure that thought has also crossed their brain what that’d mean for their career here. There’s an edge to his voice that exudes some bitterness and Amanda’s face morphs into a frown right away noticing the change in tone. Amanda Johnson: So, you feel confident in victory tonight for your team? A frown remains etched on his face but he just raises an eyebrow at the question. Seth Iser: Yes. Of course I do. Why wouldn’t I be? As agitated as he seemed earlier, he seems sincere in that statement with his confidence…or arrogance even in this instance. Amanda blinks a moment in thought but fires a question. Amanda Johnson: You mentioned Lowri by name…is she your preference if you win the Gold Rush Rumble? Seth Iser: No if, but to answer your question…yes. She is the preference. It’s simple really…it’s two to one in my favor in all of our singles matches but she beat me the last time we wrestled. I’m not going to hesitate to pin any of the other three but my preference for who I beat in the eight person tag…and my preference for who I want the champion out of that is Lowri. I’d have to get creative…in finding another way to beat her. But I know that I can. It’s more challenging…that way. Amanda Johnson: After tonight we’re on the road to San Antonio and you will compete in the Gold Rush Rumble. You were eliminated in dubious circumstances when Stryker grabbed your arm after you eliminated him… This earns a frown from Iser when Amanda recounts that event but to her credit, she doesn’t bat an eye and continues going. Amanda Johnson: You don’t know your number draw this time and last Rumble was the turnaround compared to your previous two outings in the event. Can you get that win? Seth Iser: There is no can, I will. He interjects with that brief line of confidence but that sour expression is still glued onto his face as if he’s going through his previous rumble appearances still. Seth Iser: It’s the last real missing thing left. I wanted that tournament win and I did whatever it took to win that. Payed the price later but I’m still standing after paying it now aren’t I? But right now…I feel pretty damn disrespected still. Almost as if in some ways they have forgotten about what I can do. Maybe they think I’m too old for that. That’s not only ageist of them, that’s just a terrible mistake. I’m the old man who has thrived in the young man’s game. I’m a 6’5, two hundred and forty-five pound menace who is the ultimate survivor! And not only are we going to win this eight man tag tonight… He finally glances at the camera and his expression is just filled with absolute menace. Seth Iser: It won’t matter if I’m number one or thirty. It won’t matter if it’s any of the other people in the ring opposite me in the rumble…Jimmy Page or the damn local librarian. There won’t be any human being on the planet that will throw me over the top rope and I’ll be the one who wins that event and when that happens…to bottom line it all you are looking at the next World Champion. And with that statement he then eyeballs Amanda calmly while taking a little bit of base out of his voice. Seth Iser: Now, I have a match to go win and some strategy to try to talk over with the others…so this interview is over. With that last sentence Iser ends up walking off leaving Amanda alone. Amanda Johnson: Never shy to say what’s on his mind when prompted, the veteran is looking for one more reign at the top. She concludes with that and puts on a professional smile once more after that assignment. • COMMERCIAL BREAK •

Owen Gonsalves vs. Zack Gall Gonsalves and Gall start things off with a lock up. Wristlock Sinatra gains the advantage with a side headlock before performing a standing switch and transitioning into a hammerlock from behind. After Gall spins out and reveres into a hammerlock of his own, he spins Gonsalves towards him before applying a cravat. He then presses down on the back of Gonsalves' knee, bringing him down to one leg before he really starts to crank away on the neck. Gonsalves doesn't give in, though, and is able to fight back to his feet. He then moves Gall into the near ropes before shoving him off into the far ropes. Gall returns off the rebound and tries for a running lariat, but Gonsalves is able to duck , floatover and bring him down with a Sling Blade for a two count. From there, Gonsalves brings the action into the corner. Alternating forearms and European Uppercuts follow before Gall gets sent to the far corner. Gonsalves rushes over to attack until Gall goes for a boot to the face. Gonsalves slams on the brakes, catches the foot and drags Gall out of the corner before bringing him down with a dragon screw leg whip. Gall gets up to his knees before getting met with multiple shoot kicks to the chest. Gall then ducks a Buzzsaw Kick from Gonsalves before a back kick catches him square in the face. Gonsalves then hits the ropes, returns and knocks Gall down with a shotgun dropkick to the shoulder for a two count. Gonsalves continues to control the action with multiple arm wrenches. Wristlock Sinatra delivers one more arm wrench before following up with a double knee armbreaker. Gonsalves continues to target the arm. First, with a hammerlock scoop slam. Then, with a hammerlock suplex. Finally, a bridging hammerlock suplex for a two count. After Gall gets brought down with another hammerlock scoop slam, Gonsalves takes the arm, bends it an 90 degrees and places his palm flat on the mat before delivering a pointed elbow stomp. After rolling away from Gonsalves, Gall gets to his feet. He tries to fight back with battering ram headbutts to the midsection, followed by a knee lift that knocks Gonsalves upright. Multiple shoot kicks to the chest follow. He then catches Gonsalves with alternating shoot kicks to the legs before a roundhouse kick drops him. NO! Gonsalves ducks the roundhouse, quickly takes control of Gall's back and drops him with the Paroxysm (Snap Dragon Suplex)! He then takes Gall and delivers a hard irish whip into the corner. Gall starts to stagger away from the the turnbuckles until a second shotgun dropkick sends him flying right back into the corner. From there, Gonsalves sits him up on the top turnbuckle before dropping him right on the head with Australia Street (Top Turnbuckle Hung Cutter)! Gonsalves takes hold of Gall and drags him away from the corner before placing him in the Krukenberg (Wrist-Bending Omoplata). Gall tries to resist, but ultimately gives the verbal submission. Owen Gonsalves O || Krukenberg (5:04) || Zack Gall X Post-match, the crowd erupts with boos when HENNY knocks Gonsalves down from behind with a chop block. He follows up with multiple stomps to the leg before hitting Gonsalves with quickfire elbow drops. After giving Gonsalves a jumping elbow drop, HENNY pulls him up into a standing headscissors. He's about to plant Gonsalves with the Malmö Driver ‘91 (Double Underhook Brainbuster)! Gonsalves is able to kick his legs on the way up, forcing HENNY to lower him back down. Seconds later, Gonsalves breaks free of the double underhooks, tackles HENNY down to the mat with a standing double leg and mounts himself on top of him. Gonsalves rains down forearm strikes until HENNY rolls over on top of him and does the same. Gonsalves rolls back over on top of HENNY and delivers more forearm strikes until HENNY reaches up and rakes him across the eyes. Gonsalves rolls off of HENNY and covers his face. While Gonsalves is hurt, HENNY can be seen crawling over towards the ropes. Once he's gets back to his feet, he waves Gonsalves over. The moment Gonsalves gets back to his feet and turns around, HENNY nearly knocks his head off with Shot Through the Heart (Superkick)! NO! Gonsalves catches his foot. He then throws the leg down and doubles HENNY over with a boot to the midsection before pulling him into a standing headscissors. Gonsalves is about to plant HENNY with Angel Duster (Double Underhook Piledriver)! At the last second, HENNY breaks the underhooks, drops and rolls away. John Carmichael vs. Ashley Sands Carmichael roughs up Sands early by muscling her into the corner and delivering repeated knees to the midsection. He then pulls Sands from out of the corner and delivers an arm wrench before following up with multiple shoulder blocks. Carmichael scoops Sands up for a shoulder breaker, but Sands is able to slip down from behind and push him into the ropes. When Carmichael returns, Sands knocks him down with a spinning heel kick for a two count. Carmichael is quick to reverse an irish whip and send Sands for the ride. When Sands returns, she brings Carmichael back down with a running hurricanrana. A dropkick returns him to the mat. Sands knocks him off his feet with another dropkick. Sands goes for a third, but Carmichael sidesteps and swats her down. He goes to follow up with an elbow drop, but Sands moves out of the way, causing him to catch nothing but canvas. Carmichael returns to a vertical base and finds himself on the receiving end of multiple arm wrenches. Carmichael responds by using his free hand to sock Sands with a punch to the face. He then brings the action right back into the corner before catching Sands with a trio of back elbows to the face. After Sands gets whipped into the far corner, Carmichael runs over to attack. Sands is able to knock him back with a back elbow before bringing him down with a Blockbuster off the middle rope for a two count. Sands continues to control by action by bringing Carmichael down with a reverse side russian legsweep before delivering the Wind Whisper (Rolling Senton) for a two count. After Carmichael gets whipped into the corner, Sands runs over and catches him with the Wind Kick (running corner big boot). She then scales to the top and flips back for a moonsault, but Carmichael catches her across his shoulder before running across the ring and lawn darting her over the top rope to the floor! On the outside, Sands gets thrown with a double underhook suplex. Carmichael brings her down with a half nelson suplex on the floor before pushing her up onto the apron. After rolling back inside, he drags Sands into position across the middle rope before bringing her down with the Khartbreyk (rope hung swinging neckbreaker). Carmichael continues to attack the neck and back. After Sands gets whipped hard into the turnbuckles, Carmichael catches her staggering out of the corner with the Salt of the Earth (tilt-a-whirl over the shoulder powerslam)! He then yanks Sands back to her feet before bringing her down hard with the Tahara (full nelson slam over the knee)! Sands struggles to pick herself up off the mat. As soon as she gets back to her feet, Carmichael is right there to knock her down from behind with Queens Road (clothesline to the back of the head followed by a running lariat) before planting her with the Bloodline (swinging lifting single underhook DDT, aka swinging DNA Driver) for the ONE, TWO, THREE! Vertigo continues as he fade backstage to some pre-recorded footage. Veteran reporter Spencer Burke is standing by in front of the Vertigo backdrop.
Spencer Burke: Ladies and gentlemen. Spencer Burke here backstage at Vertigo 100. With me right now is none other than the current 15 Champion, TJ Techniques. TJ, come on in here...
The arrival of TJ Techniques into the picture is met with cheers from the audience out in the arena who are watching this all play out on the Video Tron. Some 'TJ' chants follow before the fans settle down.
Spencer Burke: TJ, I say that you're the current 15 Champion. But depending on what decision you make right now, you may not be 15 Champion for much longer. But before we get to your decision. I want to ask, how have you been? How are you feeling?
TJ Techniques: It's good to be here, Spence. It's good to be here. Check it. It's the 100th episode of Vertigo. A lot of great names have walked through those doors. A lot of names have walked out of those doors. And for a couple of those names that have left? It's been real quiet out there for them. But hey, that's another story for another time. No need to put them on blast. Besides, their career, or lack thereof, speaks for itself.
Spencer tugs at his shirt collar after TJ's apparent shot at someone.
TJ Techniques: Let's get back to tonight, right? Vertigo. 100th episode. Big, big accomplishment. A lot of these companies don't even got 100 shows under they belt. A lot of these companies can't even make it five years, let alone a decade like FGA has. But let's focus on here. Vertigo. 100th episode. You would think that all the stars would be out, right? You would think that all the champs would be out, right? I mean, the World Champ's booked. The new Pride Champion is on the show. My man Sparrow's in the house. Ant's here. Every single singles champion is represented on this card, except for one. Do you know who that is, Spence?
Spencer Burke: I believe I'm talking to him right now.
TJ Techniques: You damn right you are. Now, you know me. I usually keep it calm, humble. When it's time to brag, I'll get into my bag a lil bit. But I don't go out of my way to sh*t on other people. But I'm lookin' at this card right now, and I'm seein' all the names listed, and I'm sayin' to myself, The Funky Technician is a glaring exception. Especially after the work I've put in, night in and night out.
TJ shakes his head.
TJ Techniques: I mean damn, Spence. We got Patrick Jones on the card. No disrespect to Pat. He a cool dude, I guess. But he's like, what, the 8th... 9th... 10th best Jones in wrestling right now? 'Ol boy ain't even the best Jones in his own household. Dude puts in minimal effort, yet keeps gettin' checks. Dude acts like he don't even work here, yet he still gets booked. And on the 100th episode of Vertigo, no less.
Spencer Burke: Well, I don't really think that's fair to P-
TJ pushes right past him.
TJ Techniques: Who else we got on this card over me? Zack Gall? Like, does bro even know he still work here? Nah, like, deadass, does Zack still know that he has a job? That's crazy. Who else...
TJ looks over more names on the card that he took from out of his back pocket.
TJ Techniques: We got... nah, let me stop. Let me not even go there, cause the last thing we need is for 'ol girl to get all in her feelin's again. Let me continue.
A beat.
TJ Techniques: We got Savannah Taylor on the card, ladies and gentlemen. The Las Vegas Siren is in the house. Savannah Taylor who somehow got herself a U.S. Title shot, despite the fact that she ain't done sh*t here since 45 was still in office.
Spencer Burke: Well, to be fair, you can get yourself a United States Title match by cashing in your 15 Championship.
TJ gives Burke a sly smirk. He then turns to the camera before pointing in the interviewer's direction.
TJ Techniques: See this man right here? This guy's good.
TJ turns back to Burke.
TJ Techniques: I see you, Spence. You tried to get slick with it. But don't worry. I'm gon' make my announcement soon enough. But let me get back to gettin' this off my chest.
Spencer Burke: By all means, TJ...
The interviewer gestures for TJ to continue.
TJ Techniques: Who else we got on this show over me? Hell, let me not bury the lead any further. Let's just get straight to the main event. We got Mara Jade Miller, Seth Iser and Ace Voltage, three people who ain't got a title. We got Nina Stokes? Antoinette? Julian Tijerina? Fujiko Mine? Lowri Moss? All good wrestlers. Some very good. Some great. Some are even champions. But let's keep it real. Are they really out here doin' it like TJ Techniques is doin' it?
Spencer Burke: W-
TJ Techniques: I. Don't. Think. So.
Spencer Burke: Fair enough.
TJ Techniques: But I shouldn't be surprised, though. I shouldn't be surprised at all. This right here? This is par for the course. You see, I was never co-signed. I didn't get put on because of my family, like some of y'all on this roster. I wasn't apart of some legacy or some dynasty, like some of y'all. I wasn't put on because of who I was married to or who I was sleepin' with, like some of y'all. I wasn't apart of some famed "factory", "fight club", "camp" or "academy", like some of y'all. I wasn't apart of an LDFC or RISE. This man right here? This man you see standin' here before you right now? He was in the trenches. He was the one that got it out of the mud. He was the one that grinded. He was the one that took the long road. He was the one that took the hard way. Not because I f*cked up, but because it was the only avenue open to me. I took that microphone, I took hold of that camera and I made you know my name. I was the one that was showin' up, showin' out and showin' & provin' just who the hell I was. I was the one that came in here...
TJ smacks his hands loudly.
TJ Techniques: Smack dab in the middle of a Pandemic, when this company was payin' locals to act as fans inside the Melrose Ballroom, goin' out there every event and holdin' it down. I wasn't shittin' on the company. I wasn't draggin' titles around on the ground like some of y'all. I was actin' like some f*ckin' child or throwin' my championship all over the place for the hell of it. I was helpin' to keep this place goin'. I was here to help keep FGA alive. I won't hold you. I had my own selfish ambitions, just like everyone else in that locker room. But I repped them colors and I repped those three letters to the fullest. I put in the work. I earned my stripes. So you would think... you would think, Spence... you would think that on the 100th goddamn episode of Vertigo, there would be a place on the card for a man who - and I say this with all humility - is apart of the future of this company.
Spencer Burke: I mean...
TJ Techniques: Nah, nah. Ain't no "I mean...". Nah! We got spots for people who act like they don't even work here. We got spots for people who, let's keep it a buck, have done nothin' but steal paychecks for months on end. But we don't got a spot for the guy who steals the show?
TJ looks off and mouths 'wow'. He turns back to Burke and continues.
TJ Techniques: Look at me? I'm not even scheduled a match, yet I'm comin' out here and givin' you time. Last week, I gave Amanda time. You look at me and you see my heart on my sleeve. You hear my passion. You can hear the hunger. I mean sh*t, I love Owen Gonsalves. Got nothin' but love for O. But when's the last time he gave you time? When's the last time he gave Amanda time? When's the last he went out there to that ring and gave time to the people, when he wasn't scheduled for a match? Hmm? When's the last time some of these other "big names" did more than the bare minimum?
Spencer doesn't respond. He just stares at TJ with pursed lips.
TJ Techniques: What's wrong, Spence? Why you lookin' at me like that? Why you got that look on your face?
Spencer Burke: I... I'm not looking at you any kind of way. I'm just stepping back and allowing you the floor, champ.
TJ Techniques: Who else we got tonight? Oh yeah, we got John Carmichael, a man who will now be challenging for the top championship in this company at Only the Strong Survive because...
TJ gestures with his hands, as if he's trying to think up a reasoning for this match taking place.
TJ Techniques: Oh yeah, because he dropped Lowri on her head. I mean, that's it? Like, that's really it? That's how we give it up now? Cause if that's the case, why am I even wastin' my time enterin' the Gold Rush Rumble when I can just sneak up behind Lowri...
TJ motions hitting someone over the head with an object.
TJ Techniques: Bop her on the head and then Lenny T and 'nem can make it a Triple Threat. Since that's how World Title matches are given out now. You know, Seth Iser might be an old head. But he might've been onto somethin' when he was talkin' about how title shots are just handed out now.
TJ sucks his teeth. His dissatisfaction with A LOT of things is on full display.
TJ Techniques: I mean, let's really keep it a buck. That man don't deserve that World Title match. I deserve that match. Sparrow deserves that match. A couple other cats around here deserve that look. But him? Carmichael? The only thing he deserves is what Lowri's got comin' his way. Me? I'll go out there and earn my shot. I don't need to attack Lowri from behind. You wanna know why? Because I've already beaten her elsewhere, that's why. And I didn't need to grab her tights to do it, either.
Spencer Burke: Oh my.
TJ Techniques: People can talk about Carmichael is a Hall of Famer, he's this and he's that. And that's true. But that was in the past. We talkin' about the here and now and right now? Today? He ain't done sh*t but talk sh*t. But that's the guy who gets put on the 100th episode of Vertigo. That's the guy who we give out World Title shots to. F*ck outta here!
Spencer Burke: Well, TJ, you have every right to feel how you feel. However, may I offer up another explanation?
TJ gestures for the interviewer to go on.
Spencer Burke: Well, from what I gather, the reason you're being held off tonight was a precautionary measure after the match you put forth on the last show against Mark Bisley. In particular, your knee was a topic of concern.
TJ lets out a smirk.
TJ Techniques: My knee was a topic of concern? Let me ask you somethin', Spence. Did you see me get rolled in here on a wheelchair?
Spencer Burke: No sir.
TJ Techniques: Was I using a walker?
Spencer Burke: No.
TJ Techniques: Was I on crutches?
Spencer Burke: No.
TJ Techniques: Did you see me walkin' with a limp?
Spencer Burke: Not at all.
TJ Techniques: Well then my knee ain't nobody's concern. If that was the real reason why I was left off this show, then aye man...
TJ throws his hands up.
TJ Techniques: I appreciate the concern. But check it. I don't need to be babied. TJ Techniques is a grown ass man who came here to handle grown man business. And that's exactly what's gon' happen at Only the Strong Survive, when I give Sparrow the business before throwin' myself head-first into that Gold Rush Rumble. You see, all this pent up frustration that I'm feelin' right now? I'm gonna keep it bottled up. Just for a lil bit longer, Spence. Just a lil bit. But at Only the Strong Survive? That's when it's gon' be let out. That's when it's gon' be on because not only am I gon' handle my business with Sparrow, but I'm gon' take it to every man, woman and non-binary person in that Rumble. I'm gon' throw 'em out one... by damn one.. by damn one until I'm the last one left. Feel me?
Spencer Burke: Oh, I most definitely 'feel you', TJ. But TJ, we've got to get down to this order of busines. You and your good friend will do battle at Only the Strong Survive. We have to know your answer. Will it be for the US Championship? Will you be cashing in your 15 Championship here tonight?
TJ Techniques: You want my answer, Spence? You wanna know my decision? Well, I hate to do you like this, but I can't. Not just yet. See, I'm gon' make my man Sparrow sweat it out for just a lil bit longer. I'm gon' make the good people wait for just a lil bit longer. You wanna know my answer? You wanna see what's next for The Funky Technician? Then you're gon' have to order the pape. Get your credit card ready, get your PayPal ready and go order the pape. Call your local provider. Go holla at Fite dot com. Go holla at B/R. What else we on, Spence? DAZN? Holla at whoever you need to holla at, order the pape, and then you'll get your answer.
Spencer Burke: TJ Techniques, trying to get some last minute buys for Only the Strong Survive. Ever the businessman, I see.
TJ Techniques: I do what I can.
Spencer Burke: TJ, it's a pleasure to see you as always. Thank you for your time and if no one else tells you today, thank you for everything.
Touched by Spencer's words, TJ places his hand over his heart and offers the interviewer a nod.
TJ Techniques: You a real one, Spence. I appreciate you, too.

FGA UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP © Sparrow vs. Savannah Taylor Sparrow and Taylor start things off with a lock up before The West Indian Whirlwind gains the advantage with a side headlock. Sparrow returns off the rebound and ducks a spinning backfist before continuing to run the ropes. When the US Champion returns, Taylor throws out a running yakuza kick. Sparrow drops to his back, returns to his feet with a kip up, turns around and gives Taylor the Rock Lee pose before sending her flipping down to the mat with a step-up enzuigiri for a two count. Taylor is then sent for the ride. Sparrow leapfrogs over her on the return. When Taylor comes back, Sparrow peeks over his shoulder before leapfrogging over her again. When Taylor returns, Sparrow executes a leg split. Taylor hops over him before continuing to run the ropes. When Taylor comes back, Sparrow leans back and brings her down with an inverted monkey flip. Sparrow returns to his feet with another kip up before a running hurricanrana sends Taylor through the ropes to the outside. Sparrow takes off into the far ropes. When he returns off the rebound, he picks up speed before hurling himself over the top rope and knocking Taylor down with Air Sparrow (Fosbury Flop)! NO! Taylor slips out of the way. But Sparrow is able to land on his feet! The champion then heads over to attack before getting brought down with a Sling Blade. The boos continue as Taylor makes her way onto the apron before bringing Sparrow down with an Asai Moonsault. The Las Vegas Siren brings the action back inside and makes the cover, but she only gets a two count. Taylor brings the action into the corner before catching Sparrow with multiple shoot kicks. Sparrow then takes Taylor, tosses her into the corner and returns the favor with corner chest kicks of his own. Taylor then takes Sparrow, switches positions in the corner and motions for a shoot kick... before poking him in the eyes. She then takes Sparrow, delivers an irish whip, follows him across the ring and connects with a corner back elbow. After Sparrow gets whipped back into the previous corner, Taylor runs over to attack. Sparrow ducks and dumps her over the top rope, only for her to land safely on her feet and knock Sparrow away from the corner with a rope-assisted gamengiri. Taylor then springboards to the top before knocking Sparrow down with a missile dropkick to the back of the head for a two count. Taylor continues to control the action, doubling Sparrow over with a spinning backfist before bringing him down with the Emerald Weapon (Corkscrew neckbreaker) for a two count. The Las Vegas Siren then heads into the corner, scales the turnbuckles, flips off from the top and connects with a corkscrew moonsault! NO! Sparrow rolls out of the way. But Taylor lands on her feet! Taylor runs over towards Sparrow and ducks a jumping sidekick before hitting the ropes. Sparrow lands on his feet, turns around and gets brought down with a spear for a two count. Taylor then takes Sparrow, delivers an irish whip and follows him across the ring. The second Sparrow's back hits the ropes, Taylor is there to crack him with a running bicycle knee strike. After Sparrow crumbles to the mat and rolls to the outside, the Las Vegas Siren sets up shop in the far corner. Once Sparrow gets into position on the outside, Taylor runs over towards the far corner and goes for a triangle moonsault to the outside! Sparrow runs and rolls back inside at the last second. Taylor's able to land on her feet before her momentum sends her rolling backwards to the floor. When Taylor gets back to her feet, Sparrow runs over towards the ropes, flips over and knocks her down with Air Sparrow! Sparrow heads back inside before knocking Taylor back down with a suicide dropkick. The West Indian Whirlwind brings Taylor back into the ring before delivering a Tornado DDT out of the corner. Taylor turns over onto a knee before Sparrow knocks her down with Love TKO (Shining axe kick on an opponent crouched) for a two count. Taylor is then set for the ride. Sparrow catches her off the rebound with a pair of leg lariats before a jumping sidekick knocks her back down. After a front dropkick to the leg drops Taylor down to all fours, Sparrow flattens her on the mat with a Switchblade Kick! The US Champion targets the head again by delivering a bridging Tiger Suplex for another two count. Sparrow then brings the action into the corner and sits Taylor backwards on the top turnbuckle. He then scales the ropes, brings Taylor down with the Izuna Drop (Spider Suplex) before coming off the top with The Notorious K.I.C.K.
