FGA 15 CHAMPIONSHIP
© TJ Techniques vs. Mark Bisley
The arena lights dim to almost pitch blackness, save for a couple of blue lights that pulse in sync with the intro to "Storms End" that is rising in pitch and intensity until the main hook burst forth and, at that very second, the ramp is bathed in blue light as Mark Bisley strides onto the ramp with his head bowed and an arm raised before he comes to a stop on the ramp and raises his head to survey the arena wearing one hell of a self-satisfied smirk upon his face
Keeping his arm raised as he makes his way down the ramp, Bisley walks at his own pace as he confidently walks to the ring at his own pace right up until he reaches the ringside area, and once he reaches the ringside area he lowers his arm and breaks into a short dash to give him the momentum to hop onto the ring apron where he crouches for a moment and taps the side of his head a couple of times to the song's beat before he rolls backwards into the ring and quickly gets back to his feet.
Melanie Sierra: The following contest, scheduled for one fall, is for the FGA 15 CHAMPIONSHIP! Introducing first, the challenger! From Minneapolis, Minnesota! Weighing in at 201 pounds… MARK BISLEY!
Once he's got to his feet Bisley makes his way to the nearest corner and climbs the nearest turnbuckles where he stands with one foot on the top rope and his arms held out wide as he slowly tilts his head back for a few seconds until he turns his head and peers back into the ring and climbs down, removing the towel from around his shoulders the second his feet touch the canvas and casually tossing it in the referee's direction as he takes a few steps forward so he's standing in the centre of the ring where he drops to a knee and runs his hand on the canvas to say one thing: this is
my ring.
Kris Cruise: Mark Bisley, one of the most underrated wrestlers in all of FGA, has a chance to become a three time 15 Champion.
Geoff Penzer: in his mind, the 15 Championship needs to be reset. He’s here tonight to win back what was “stolen” from him. But that will be much easier said than done.
♫ Step into a world (Klaka klaka, klaka klaka!)
Where there's no one left (Buku, buku! Alla de massive!)
But the very best (Klaka, bo bo, BDP crew, bo bo bo bo!)
No MC can test [*cut and scratch of KRS saying "but one"*] ♫
The beat kicks in as "Step Into a World (Rapture’s Delight)" starts to knock through the speakers. Out through the curtain steps TJ Techniques, clad in his ring attire and hooded vest. TJ peeks out underneath the hood as he looks out to the right. He does the same to his left before flinging the hood back, smacking his chest twice and pointing down in front of him with his forefingers. TJ nods his head as he makes his way down the ramp with purpose.
Melanie Sierra: His opponent, from Staten Island, New York! Weighing in at 197 pounds! He is the reigning and defending FGA 15 Champion… “The Funky Technician” TJ TECHNIQUES!
TJ leaps to the apron before stepping into the squared circle. He makes a beeline towards the far corner and hops up to the middle ropes. TJ scans the crowd before slapping his chest twice and pointing down in front of him with his fingers. He hops down from the corner, walks across the ring and hops to the middle ropes and scans the corner. TJ slaps his chest twice before pointing down in front of him with his forefingers. He then hops down and takes off the hooded vest before tossing it to the outside. TJ tugs away at the top rope as he readies himself for the start of the match.
Kris Cruise: TJ Techniques will have a huge decision to make if he gets past Mark Bisley tonight.
Geoff Penzer: Yes he will, but that is a big if. Bisley is someone that has the game that can ground TJ. This is without a doubt TJ’s toughest test to date since becoming champion.
Kris Cruise: TJ has spent the majority of 2022 with the 15 Championship. Does he part ways with it tonight?
Techniques and Bisley circle the ring before locking up. After jockeying for position, Bisley places Techniques in a side headlock. The champ then grabs a hold of Bisley’s arm before slipping out and reversing into a hammerlock. After Bisley spins out and reverses into a hammerlock of his own, Techniques reaches back with his free arm, grabs Bisley by the back of the neck and escapes with a back flip. When Bisley turns around, the crowd cheers when Techniques brings him down with an arm drag. Bisley gets back to his feet before getting brought down with a japanese arm drag. The Funky Technician then rushes over and brings Bisley back down with an overflow arm drag. Techniques then takes Bisley, delivers an irish whip and follows him into the corner. After Techniques executes a Tiger Wall Flip, Bisley runs out of the corner to attack before Techniques brings him down with a deep arm drag. The champion quickly transitions into an underhook on the arm.
Kris Cruise: The champion is in the control for the early portion of this match.
Geoff Penzer: I know it’s early. But thus far, TJ is outwrestling Bisley. If I were TJ, I would try to keep the match as fast paced as possible. Bisley can’t keep up with him in terms of speed and agility. But slowing down the pace and taking it to the ground is playing into Bisley’s strengths.
The ref gets down and asks Bisley if he wants to give up. After Bisley refuses, he battles back to a vertical base. He then uses his free arm to push up underneath Techniques’ chin. “Smart” Mark continues to push Techniques into the near ropes before shoving him off into the far ropes. When Techniques returns, he sees Bisley setting up for a back body drop, so he hurdles over him and continues to run the ropes. Techniques returns off the rebound before Bisley leapfrogs over him. Techniques continues to run the ropes. When he returns, he brings Bisley down with a running hurricanrana. The champion runs back over to attack, but Bisley ducks and dumps him over the top rope. Techniques lands safely on the apron. He then goes to catch Bisley with a shoulder thrust through the rope, but Bisley blocks and counters with the Left Hand Free (rope assisted single arm DDT)! The crowd boos as he makes the cover.

Techniques kicks out.
Kris Cruise: Good counter there by Bisley for a two count.
Geoff Penzer: Not only that, but he went after the arm in the process. It won’t slow TJ down. Not at all. But if he continues to work over that arm, it’ll be one less weapon that TJ will have as his disposal.
Bisley pulls Techniques back to his feet and applies an overhook on the arm left. When Techniques refuses to quit, Bisley delivers three clubbing strikes across the arm. He then delivers a pointed elbow strikes across the arm before wrenching it. Bisley follows up with a second arm wrench. Techniques then rolls forward, leans back, kips up and reverses into an arm wrench of his own. Bisley then rolls forward, spins over onto his knees, flips over with a headstand and reverses into another arm wrench. Techniques then rolls forward, rolls backwards back to his feet, flips over with a headstand, reverses into another arm wrench of his own, quickly lets go of the arm before knocking him off his feet with a dropkick. Techniques goes for an irish whip, but Bisley is quick to reverse. Instead of returning, Techniques hangs onto the ropes. Bisley runs forward to attack, but Techniques is able to jump onto the middle ropes before flipping over Bisley. Bisley slams on the brakes, turns around and throws out a running lariat. Techniques ducks and hits the ropes. The Funky Technician returns off the rebound before bringing Bisley down with a wheelbarrow arm drag. The cheers continue as Bisley gets back to his feet before a running hurricanrana sends him through the ropes to the apron.
Kris Cruise: Bisley’s been sent to the outside!
Geoff Penzer: TJ might be seconds away from taking it to the air….
Bisley picks himself up before Techniques runs into the corner, leaps over the top rope and knocks him down to the floor with a triangle shoulder block!
Geoff Penzer: … and he does!
The Funky Technician rolls back into the ring before pointing to the outside. Once he hears the cheers from the crowd, he takes off into the far ropes. Techniques picks up speed as he runs back across the ring. The crowd cheers when he knocks Bisley down on the outside with a springboard Asai Moonsault!
Kris Cruise: TJ takes it to the air again!
Geoff Penzer: There’s arguably no better high flyer in FGA currently than The Funky Technician. He makes it look so easy.
Techniques runs around three sides of the ring and slaps hands with the fans in the front row. He stops himself when he sees Bisley picking himself up on the outside. The crowd erupts with cheers when he runs towards the ring post, leaps through the turnbuckle hooks and plants Bisley with a Torpedo DDT!
Kris Cruise: What a maneuver!
Geoff Penzer: I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone pull off a DDT like that before!
Kris Cruise: Like you said, Geoff, he makes it look so easy out there.
Bisley gets rolled back inside. Techniques then hops up to the apron and comes back in with a topé atomico before making the cover.

Bisley gets his foot on the bottom rope.
Techniques takes Bisley and whips him into the corner. The Funky Dragon runs over and connects with a springboard spinning back kick to the face. NO! Techniques whiffs when Bisley ducks. The crowd boos when Bisley takes Techniques and repeatedly slams him face-first into the top turnbuckle.
Kris Cruise: Bisley got him!
Geoff Penzer: All it took was for one mistake. Bisley was that quick to jump on top of that missed kicked.
Bisley turns Techniques around and lights up his chest with multiple knife edge chops. After a rolling solebutt doubles Techniques over, Bisley knocks him upright with a kick to the face before catching him with the Minnesota Buzzsaw (repeated shoot kicks to a cornered opponent's chest)! Another rolling solebutt doubles Techniques back over before Bisley delivers the Iko Uwais (cravat with repeated knees to the head)! The boos continue as he drags Techniques out of the corner before bringing him down with Greetings from the Twin Cities (hangman's neckbreaker over the knee)! He makes the cover.

Techniques kicks out.
Kris Cruise: Techniques kicked out in time, but Bisley is really starting to take control of his match.
Geoff Penzer: He is. He was right there on top of TJ as soon as he missed that kick. I don’t know if it was an attempt to show TJ up, but Bisley went to town on him with some kicks of his own in that corner before bringing him down for the two count.
Bisley sets up for an irish whip when the champion reverses. When Bisley returns, Techniques goes for a Shaolin Sidekick (Harlem Sidekick)! The crowd boos when Bisley catches him in mid air and counters with the Paul Krause (Bisley sidesteps a leaping opponent and catches them with a shinbreaker)! Bisley adds insult to injury by mocking Techniques. He can be seen kneeling down and rubbing the canvas next to Techniques’ head.
Kris Cruise: Oh no!
Geoff Penzer: Bisley was just a step ahead again. This time, he went after the leg. This can turn ugly quick for the champion if he can’t fend off Bisley and get back to his feet.
Bisley pulls Techniques back to his feet and grabs a hold of the leg. Techniques tries to fight him off, but Bisley ends up bringing him down with a dragon screw leg whip. The boos continue as Bisley lifts up Techniques’ leg before delivering a grounded dragon screw. The challenger continues to work over the leg by delivering a KneeDT (Foot DDT)! Bisley then takes Techniques, hooks his arm around the leg and slowly turns him over into the Canadian Maple Leaf!
Geoff Penzer: L'Étoile du Nord!
Techniques yells out in pain while Bisley pulls back on the leg. The ref asks TJ if he wants to give up. When the champ refuses, Bisley pulls back further on the leg.
Kris Cruise: Look at the pressure that Bisley’s applying.
Geoff Penzer: TJ’s got to find a way to block this out and get to those ropes.
Bisley continues to lean back while yelling at Techniques to quit. Techniques tries to hang on. But the longer he stays in the hold, the worse the pain gets.
Geoff Penzer: You can see the pain taking it’s toll on the champion. But he’s caught between a rock and a hard place. Either quit and lose your championship, or he has to drag both him and Bisley across the ring to get to the ropes.
Bisley is yelling at Techniques to tap, but The Funky Technician still won’t give in. When Techniques refuses, Bisley leans even further back.
“NO!”
“NO!”
“NO!”
“NO!”
The ref checks in with Techniques and asks him if he wants to give up. The champion refuses before slowly pushing himself up off the mat. The crowd cheers when Techniques starts to put one hand in front of the other and slowly crawl towards the ropes.
Kris Cruise: Here we go, TJ!
Geoff Penzer: The champ’s fighting back!
Bisley is seen shaking his head in disbelief. He hangs on as Techniques continues to scratch and claw his way towards the side of the ring. The cheers then turn to boos when Techniques collapses and drops down to the mat. Bisley lets out a smirk.
Kris Cruise: OH NO!
Geoff Penzer: Did he just pass out from the pain!?
Kris Cruise: I think he did!
The ref checks on Techniques again. He asks the champion if he wants to quit, but he doesn’t get an answer. The official shakes Techniques before asking if he wants to quit. Still no answer.
Geoff Penzer: I think you’re right, Kris! We’ve got a new champion.
Bisley is calling for the bell. But the ref won’t call it yet. He wants to give Techniques one more chance answer. Techniques is asked if he wants to give up. Techniques responds by dragging himself forward before reaching out and grabbing the bottom rope. Techniques’ effort is met with applause from the crowd.
Geoff Penzer: Wooooow!
Kris Cruise: TJ got to the ropes and Bisley is irate!
Bisley lets go of the hold. He then picks up Techniques, turns him around and unleashes rapid fire elbow smashes! He then pulls Techniques away from the ropes before bringing him down with Blind Destiny (Canadian backbreaker rack dropped into double knee gutbuster)! The boos continue as he makes the cover.

NO!
Kris Cruise: TJ got his knees up!
The crowd cheers when Bisley bounces off of Techniques’ legs. Bisley slowly rolls away over towards the ropes while the champion hugs his legs.
Geoff Penzer: TJ might have countered the Sapienza, but that counter looked like it hurt him just as much as it hurt Bisley!
Techniques massages his leg before slowly turning over to a knee. After slowly returning to a vertical base, Techniques rushes over to Bisley as best he can. But Bisley is just a step ahead, catching Techniques with a superkick to the leg before dropping him with a superkick to the face.

Geoff Penzer: Minnesota Cloverleaf time!
Bisley’s about to turn Techniques over into the Minnesota Cloverleaf (Texas Cloverleaf with a knee to the back), but Techniques reaches up and fires off a flurry of right hands to the face. The last punch breaks the hold and drops Bisley to a knee. Techniques then uses his free leg to deliver a front kick to the side of the head.
Kris Cruise: TJ was able to free himself.
Geoff Penzer: He’s got to get back to his feet and fight back.
Techniques rolls away from him. After he slowly returns to a vertical base, Bisley darts over and goes for a running front dropkick to the leg. Techniques avoids it by hitting a leapfrog, but as soon as his feet hit the mat, his leg buckles before he crumbles to the mat.
Geoff Penzer: Oh man…
The boos continue as Bisley pulls up Techniques, delivers a shinbreaker and quickly follows up with another dragon screw. Bisley’s about to turn Techniques over into another L'Étoile du Nord until Techniques fights him off with several upkicks. The last kick catches Bisley underneath the chin and knocks him back. Bisley shakes off the blow while Techniques struggles to get back to his feet. Bisley runs over to attack before Techniques brings him face down to the mat with a spinning leg sweep to the legs.
Kris Cruise: Nice counter there by TJ.
Geoff Penzer: But once again, he has to get back up.
Techniques is slow to get back to his feet. He then catches Bisley after he gets to his feet with a punch to the face before going for an irish whip. NO! Bisley reverses and follows Techniques into the corner. Instead of crashing into the corner, Techniques runs up the the turnbuckles, backflips off the top and crumbles to the mat as soon as he lands on his feet.
Kris Cruise: TJ went for another Tiger Wall Flip, but it did more harm than good.
The boos continue as Techniques if shown hugging his leg. The camera quickly cuts to show Bisley setting up shop in the corner. He starts to wave Techniques up. His waving gets faster and faster the closer the champion gets to returning to his feet. TJ starts to get back to his feet, only to drop down to a knee! Bisley runs out of the corner before blasting him with Lux Aeterna (Busaiku Knee to a kneeling opponent)!
NO!
The crowd gasps when Techniques rolls to the side, causing Bisley to whiff on the flying knee strike.

Bisley drags Techniques into position before stepping out to the apron. The crowd boos when they see Bisley doing the belt motion around his waist.
Geoff Penzer: Bisley’s looking to finish him off!
Bisley starts to climb the turnbuckles. As soon as he makes it to the top, the crowd gasps when Techniques scrambles back to his feet, runs into the corner and leaps up onto the top turnbuckle. The crowd explodes with cheers when Techniques takes Bsley, flips backwards and brings him down with a Spanish Fly off the top!

The cheers continue as Techniques gets his arm raised before raising the 15 Championship.
Kris Cruise: TJ Techniques has done it. Mark Storm, Erin Mariani, Laura Perelli and now Mark Bisley have all fallen to TJ Techniques. That now makes four successful defenses for The Funky Technician.
Geoff Penzer: Now it’s decision time. Does he keep the championship? Does he trade it in for a guaranteed shot at the United States Championship? That’s a situation that we’ll definitely be monitoring. Up next, we have the SMWB taking on the makeshift team of Legacy Champion, Antoinette and her partner, Piper Lennon!
