FILMED DURING THE RUN TIME OF FGA VERTIGO E92Returning from the commercial break, a camera finds Lowri Moss backstage at the Von Braun Center, standing near to the Gorilla position. Dressed in her ring attire, and sporting an Izzy Anders t-shirt, Lowri is going through some final stretching, ahead of the upcoming tag team match. Grasping her right arm just above the elbow with her left hand, she gently pulls it toward her chest until she feels a stretch in her shoulder, and she then holds her arm in that position for a moment, before repeating the motion on the opposite side.
Stepping into frame, Izzy Anders is already peeking at her tag team partner for the night. In similar fashion to Lowri, Izzy has on a Lowri Moss t-shirt, which seems to draw a smile onto her face. She points at the t-shirt Lowri is wearing and smiles. Before she speaks, she peers beyond the curtain, humoring the idea of just rushing out there. Nonetheless, she draws back and puts her hands on her hips.
Izzy Anders: How ‘bout that? I guess we both had the same idea. Though, I wonder if my t-shirt’s older…
She goes to analyze, but laughs off her efforts.
Izzy Anders: Is this the first time we’ve ever teamed up? Gods, it has been so long that I just can’t remember. I’m starting to feel old again.
Dramatically, with the same flair as a telenovela, Izzy feigns fainting. Her hand graces her forehead and she leans back. She does it so well that ends up tripping back into the nearby wall.
Izzy Anders: If we haven’t, then this should be a good litmus test. I also get to witness you up close again. I have to keep my eyes peeled for any fatal weaknesses or whatever. Or better yet!
She snaps her fingers.
Izzy Anders: I could attack you after the match and declare myself as the true contender. Or that I’ve secretly hated you this whole time. Or that I’m tired of the new generation trying to take what us old timers have done.
The Mindkiller shrugs.
Izzy Anders: Or… not.
Lowri chuckles at Izzy’s remark, taking it in the spirit in which she assumes/hopes it was intended.
Lowri Moss: I’m not sure about me being the new generation and you being an old timer, Izzy. I mean, for all we like to talk about being mother and daughter, you’ve only been wrestling for like eighteen months longer than I have-- I think both of us have got plenty of miles left on the clock yet!
She runs a hand through her hair.
Lowri Moss: But whether it’s due to the passing of time, or whatever, I don’t blame you for forgetting the one time we teamed together previously: three years ago, when I needed a partner for a tag match in Underground, and rather than going with the predictable option, I decided instead to reach out to you, and you kindly agreed to do it.
Izzy teamed with Lowri in a losing effort against Kimmi Keister and Anastasia Starling.
Lowri Moss: Probably the less said about how the match ended the better, but hey, at least we can only possibly improve upon that now!
Izzy does not laugh at the mentioning of the past. Instead, she nods her head and adjusts her expression.
Izzy Anders: Hey, Lowri, I feel as though it’s important for you to know something.
The cheerful air dies down.
Izzy Anders: This title match. I need to understand why you let me have it. I didn’t deserve it, even if Cordelia says so.
Before Lowri can respond, Izzy puts up a finger.
Izzy Anders: Secondly, if I do win, do you think you’re going to beat me?
A sharp tension settles, something new to the dynamic of Lowri Moss and Izzy Anders. Izzy does not look up from the ground.
Izzy Anders: I just want to hear it from you before we go out there. Because it changes a lot about how we’re going to interact from now on.
Lowri sticks out an arm, leaning against the wall next to her.
Lowri Moss: It wasn't for me to decide, Izzy, whether or not you deserved a title match. Cordy wanted to give it to you though, and I knew that you having a match with her for the title was never going to stop me from getting my shot, the only effect it would have would be on who I faced for the title, so I didn't see any reason to kick up a fuss.
A small sigh escapes her lips, as she continues.
Lowri Moss: And as for whether I think I’m going to beat you, if you beat Cordy--
Lowri pauses, thinking carefully about what she is going to say next.
Lowri Moss: I don’t know. I’ll admit that I believe that I could beat you, although I believe that I can beat anyone I set foot in the ring with, simply because of the confidence I have in my ability. But whether I would beat you?
She pulls her hand away from the wall. She then shrugs her shoulders, before crossing her arms.
Lowri Moss: Again, I don’t know-- I’m taking nothing as given.
Izzy remains quiet as she processes what Lowri says. When she is done, her face does not seem to make a clear reaction. However, she accompanies the stoicness by bringing Lowri into a warm hug. When she pulls away, she has her hands on her shoulders, a sad smile adorning her features.
Izzy Anders: I’m sorry, Lowri, that’s a rude question to ask. I just… I just gotta know these days. I’m going to have to do some things to ensure my family’s future and I--
Izzy straightens up, shaking her head.
Izzy Anders: No, no, that’s not fair to drop on you. If I make it past Cordelia, then I’ll be honored to face you. It’ll be a real test. For the biggest prize in our industry. Te amo, mija.
Once over the feeling, Izzy releases Lowri and pats her chest, summoning up the familiar Izzy Anders fire.
Izzy Anders: Two tag team specialists teaming up? I feel bad for them out there.
Lowri smiles back at Izzy, although her body language seems a bit tense.
Lowri Moss: I know, right? Especially Gwen. Someone must really have it in for her, putting her in a match with you for the second time in as many shows.
Izzy doesn't respond, merely nodding before she decides to head on out. From the frontside of the camera, Izzy seems to drop her smile in lieu of a stoic attitude.
