Shortly after Vertigo has gone off the air, Jessie Pederson is seen standing somewhere backstage at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium with the [2020 and] 2021 Gold Rush Rumble winner, Lowri Moss, who - having showered and changed following her match earlier - is dressed in a pair of jeans and a replica Wales football jersey.
Jessie Pederson: Lowri, well done on your victory tonight.
Lowri responds to the reporter with a courteous smile.
Lowri Moss: Thanks, Jessie. It felt good to be back in the ring for my first match since Only the Strong Survive, and to pick up the win, even if I didn’t exactly have the most illustrious of opponents. The only downside to the match was that it lasted barely longer than a minute.
That last part appears to take Jessie by surprise.
Jessie Pederson: Why do you consider that a downside? I would’ve thought that most competitors would be glad to get a win in such a quick time.
Lowri Moss: Maybe in a Beat The Clock Challenge I would, but I love being out there in front of the FGA fans, Jessie, especially now that the venues are back at full capacity, and I wish that I could’ve put on a bit more of a show for them. I’m not a sadist though, I don’t like to toy with my opponents, and prolong things unnecessarily, so I just did what I needed to do to get the win, instead of dragging it out.
Jessie Pederson: I feel like I ought to ask, what did you think of your choice of opponent for tonight?
Lowri Moss: You mean the “Patron Saint of Sex” - Freeport, Long Island's Carnelia Stephenson?
Lowri pauses for a second. Did she get those details correct? She thinks so, but she is not one hundred percent sure.
Lowri Moss: You know, I remember Dom Harter referring to Ash Fi once as “discount Lowri Moss,” but maybe in the future we’ll see someone inside an FGA ring named… I don’t know-- Laura Moses, perhaps.
She gives a shrug, before continuing.
Lowri Moss: In all seriousness though, I know Cordy wasn’t particularly amused when Carnelia made her first appearance in FGA last year, probably even less so this time, and she’s absolutely right when she says that there’ll never be another her-- to call Carnelia a dollar store version of Cordy would be an insult to Cordy.
She lets out a sigh.
Lowri Moss: By the time that we get to night two of All-Star Showdown and the match for the Undisputed Championship, if it is Cordy who I end up facing for the title, or for that matter if it’s Izzy, I’m fully aware that I’m going to be in for a significantly more difficult match than the one that I had here tonight. I can only beat whoever it is that’s put in front of me though, Jessie, which tonight was Carnelia, so I just went out there, and like I said, I did what I needed to do.
Jessie Pederson: You mentioned that you can only beat whoever is put in front of you… well, I think I’m right in saying that you have actually offered Cordy the chance to possibly pick your opponent for an upcoming match.
Lowri nods.
Lowri Moss: Yes, that’s right.
She puts her hands on her hips.
Lowri Moss: Cordy made it clear last week to Spencer Burke, and to everyone else who was listening, that she felt she was being put at a disadvantage by having to potentially defend her title on consecutive nights, first against Izzy and then against me-- and as I told her a few days ago on Twitter, I can understand her feeling that it would be unfair for her to potentially have to wrestle on consecutive nights, while I would be going into the match on night two fresh. Now, some people might point out that when I fought Cordy at last year’s All-Star Showdown, that it was my second match in one night, never mind a second match in two nights, but I’m not going to bring that up, Jessie-- I’m not.
Lowri of course knows full well what she just did.
Lowri Moss: Anyway, I told Cordy that if she thought it would make things fairer, that I would be willing to have a match of my own on night one, and that I would even be willing to leave it up to her to pick my opponent, whether that be someone from the FGA roster, or someone from outside of FGA.
Another small sigh escapes her lips.
Lowri Moss: I’m not sure whether the Executive Committee have actually considered my proposal, or whether there would even be room on the night one card for me to have a match against whoever Cordy decides she wants to pick, but the champ certainly seems to like the idea, and with my British sense of fair play, I would like it to happen, if it can.
Jessie gives a nod of acknowledgement.
Jessie Pederson: Okay, well, I guess we’ll have to wait and see on that one, but for now, Lowri, thank you for your time.
Lowri Moss: You’re welcome, Jessie.
The scene then cuts away.
