CHARACTER BACKGROUND
PERSONALITY:
A hip hop/vinyl enthusiast with a love of pro wrestling. After putting in work in various promotions, TJ is looking to take the next leap in competition in FGA. Reasons for competing: experience, passion, glory.
STRENGTHS:
1. Agility. In his early 20s, TJ took up Freerunning, which evolved out of his love for breaking. A descendant art of Parkour, freerunning is a style of expression by interacting with various objects within an environment. Because of this, we may see TJ interact with many of the elements in and around the ring to his advantage (e.g. performing a tiger wall flip off the ring post to counter an irish whip).
2. Striking. At 5BBA, TJ was able to learn the basics of professional wrestling. As his training increased, TJ took up a concentration in striking during the later stages of his time at the academy. While he doesn't possess brute force, TJ's combinations are fluid and his strikes can have a bit of pop to them.
3. Fans. TJ has a genuine love and respect for the fans of wrestling. He draws strength from them in his lowest moments in the ring. Their enthusiasm inspires him to push further.
WEAKNESSES:
1. Strength. At only 195 pounds, he isn't the strongest guy on the roster and can be overpowered, depending on the matchup with his opponent.
2. Pride. He can let his pride get the better of him, which could prove costly given the situation.
3. Inexperience. TJ has been training since 2016, but he didn't officially turn pro until the tail end of 2017. While he has had some success in promotions like SWA, ACM and EW, he doesn't have the reps that some of his more experienced peers have.
TAUNTS/MANNERISMS:
1. Spinaroonie after a Scissors Kick
2. If an opponent has been disposed of on the outside, TJ will hop to the middle ropes, fold his arms and lean forward before slowly standing up and spreading his arms out.
Allies & Foes:
ALLIES
1. Mighty Sparrow
2. Cassius Reed (rival turned tag partner)
3.
4.
5.
FOES
1. Silk & Cyanide
2. Ricky Valero

BACKGROUND:
TJ's journey in professional wrestling started back in 2016. He attended the same LDFC tryout camp as Maritza Diaz, Rab McKinley, Abigail Verna, Peaches and others. Unfortunately for TJ, an offer to train at LDFC wasn't extended to him. After failing to be picked up by RISE, Valero Fight Club or any of the other big name schools at the time, the man known as Tyson James seemed to disappear from wrestling. He returned to his stomping grounds in New York. It was there that he learned the ropes at 5 Boroughs Battle Academy. Once his training was complete, TJ resurfaced on the pro wrestling scene in the now defunct Sentinel Wrestling Alliance back in December 2017.
In SWA, he met some of his oldest friends in the sport, including future tag team partner Johnny Amazing. After some initial success, TJ ventured away from Colorado after SWA closed and landed in places such as Alianza Campeonato Mexicano and Evolution Wrestling. From there, TJ earned himself a roster spot in the Oceanic Wrestling Federation in early 2020. He made another leap in the summer of 2020 by joining the third incarnation of Liberty Pro.
TJ continued to build up his rep in Liberty Pro while also catching wind of Sadie San Francisco's open challenge. This was the chance that he had been waiting for. He always knew that he would one day have the ability to compete in FGA. This was an opportunity that was too good to pass up. TJ was ultimately unsuccessful in his challenge of the United States Championship. While he lost the match, he won over officials and was given a contract soon after. With his debut as a contracted talent in the Gold Rush Rumble in the books, TJ looked to make his mark in the company that he always knew he'd be good enough to compete in.
The first person that he crossed paths with, feud-wise, was Cassius Reed. TJ and Cassius took part in a pair of matches that saw the two of them trade victries. After each win, TJ looked for a handshake as a show of respect. Cassius rebuffed him twice. A third encounter was then scheduled for All-Star Showdown IX. TJ was successful in the tiebreaker and finally got Cassius to shake his hand.
In the weeks that followed, TJ had set up a tag team match with a mystery partner. Much to Cassius' surprise, he was TJ's mystery partner. Cassius, who had a history of being adamantly against tag teams, was down on the idea. But as the weeks rolled on, the wins started rolling in. The more wins that came along, the more Cassius started to warm up to the idea. The former rivals turned partners soon christened their team the Renegades of Funk. The tag team went on to win a gauntlet match to become the new World Tag Team Champions after the titles were vacated by Pendragon.

[center][b][i]♫ Step into a world (Klaka klaka, klaka klaka!)
Where there's no one left (Buku, buku! Alla de massive!)
But the very best (Klaka, bo bo, BDP crew, bo bo bo bo!)

The beat kicks in as "Step Into a World (Rapture’s Delight)" starts to knock through the speakers. Out through the curtain steps TJ Techniques, clad in his ring attire and hooded vest. TJ peeks out underneath the hood as he looks out to the right. He does the same to his left before flinging the hood back, smacking his chest twice and pointing down in front of him with his forefingers. TJ nods his head as he makes his way down the ramp with purpose.
TJ leaps to the apron before stepping into the squared circle. He makes a beeline towards the far corner and hops up to the middle ropes. TJ scans the crowd before slapping his chest twice and pointing down in front of him with his fingers. He hops down from the corner, walks across the ring and hops to the middle ropes and scans the corner. TJ slaps his chest twice before pointing down in front of him with his forefingers. He then hops down and takes off the hooded vest before tossing it to the outside. TJ tugs away at the top rope as he readies himself for his opponent/the start of the match.
