ENTRANCE & ATTIRE
ENTRANCE MUSIC:
"Thunderstruck" by AC/DC
RING ATTIRE:
Ace wrestlers with no shirt on. He has two black elbow pads with both wrists taped in black. He wears shoulder tape on his left shoulder from his shoulder injury a few years ago. He has light blue tights with the word "VOLTAGE" running down the sides in yellow. He caps the outfit off with black boots.
RING ENTRANCE:
The arena goes dark and "Thunderstruck by AC/DC starts blaring over the sound system. As the words "THUNDER" are shouted into the arena each time, the lights flash yellow.
I WAS CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A RAILROAD TRACK
A white spotlight shines on the ramp and Ace Voltage appears from backstage, once the lyrics start going. He is wearing a black jacket with his name on the back and his light blue tights. He shines a smirk to the crowd, zips open the jacket to show off his torso and the rest of the lights come on, with yellow and blue lighting flashing around. He walks down the ramp, nodding his head to the music, laughing to himself when he hears the boos and insults from the crowd. As he's going down the entrance ramp, he walks close to the guardrail ready to slap the hands of the one or two fans. Before he can slap their hands, he quickly rips his hands away, smirks to the booing fans and walks down to the ring. He jumps up onto the apron and steps into the ring. He walks to the corner, jumping on the second rope, looking out into the crowd. He raises an arm in the air, smirking and smiling to the fans. After a few seconds, he jumps down, takes his jacket off and waits for the match to start.

CHARACTER BACKGROUND
PERSONALITY:
Ace Voltage has never been a people person in and outside of the ring. He doesn't often take a liking to his competition. He will do whatever it takes to get under the skin of management, his opponent, and the fans. He doesn't care for many, he just wants to do whatever he can to become the top guy. He doesn't show much emotion or empathy towards anyone or anything unless he has a personal stake in it. On camera, he likes to be a showman. Showing off after moves, taunting the crowd, and he loves telling people how great he is. He's arrogant, brash, and very conceited. If someone is telling him something and it does not concern him, he will often pretend to listen or walk away completely. He thinks he is better than everyone and wants to let everyone know.
STRENGTHS:
1. Athletic - Ace has been an athlete his whole life. At the age of 5, he started playing soccer and baseball. This led to him being in very good shape and having a stronger lower body, more than his upper body. He can usually land on his feet when countering moves or jumping from a top rope. With his athletic ability, in high-profile matches, he can pull out some springboard moves and suicide dives he usually wouldn't pull out.
2. Experience - Ace has been wrestling on and off for about 10 years. He took a little hiatus in 2016 and 2017, but besides that, he has loads of experience wrestling. He has wrestled in numerous countries, won numerous titles, and learned from the best. His mentor Nashville Joe taught him a lot as a young 24-year old, most notably how to get out of tricky situations in and outside of the ring. He has seen so many styles of wrestling that he has a knack for reversing moves and knows what to expect from certain wrestlers. High-Profile matches won't make Ace too nervous as he has been in them before (just as long as they are not outside his comfort zone.)
3. Whatever it takes Attitude - Ace has always had this attitude that he will do whatever it takes to win. Whether it's a low blow, eye poke, using the ref as a shield, or using a foreign object, Ace will use any means necessary to get the victory. He has no morals inside the ring and won't hesitate when given an opportunity. Consider him an "opportunist" inside and outside the ring, when the time comes, whether it is hitting an illegal move, making specific allies or even making deals with management as he has done in the past.
WEAKNESSES:
1. Arrogance - Ace likes to show off too much, which will cost him. After performing a move, he will taunt his opponent or the crowd. This will lead to his opponent getting a quick rest and attacking him when Ace is not looking. Sometimes he will go out of his way to be cocky and arrogant in a promo or match that will usually lead to him regretting his decisions.
2. Brawling/Hardcore style - While Ace will use foreign objects when necessary, he is not really a "brawler" kind of wrestler. He will lose in a fist fight any day, and of course, doesn't want to hurt his beautiful face. He doesn't have much experience in hardcore kind of matches and will be nervous going into matches such as steel cages (because he can't run away), last man standing, and falls count anywhere. He doesn't mind using weapons, but he does not like getting hit by weapons. Since he is more of a technical wrestler, he prefers to stay within the ropes when possible.
3. Frustration - There are times when Ace is tired of running around the ring and gets frustrated by his opponent. At times, he will roll out of the ring and get angry; kicking the barricade, slamming his hands on the steel steps, or letting the crowd get to him. He may choose to get counted out, yell at the ref or announcers, or get caught unexpectedly from his opponent with a big move. If Ace hits a big move and doesn't get a three count, he will yell at the ref which would leave him susceptible to a roll-up or attack from his opponent. He's also known to get DQ'd from his frustration.
TAUNTS/MANNERISMS:
1. Yelling at the ref for a three count
2. Proclaiming he is the "Main Event" to the crowd

BACKGROUND:
Ashton Benjamin Vail was born in London, England to his father Rodger and his mother Julie. He is the second child of four, with his sister Ashley coming before him, and Alton and Alec coming after him. In 1991, at 4 years old, Ashton and his family moved to the U.S., more specifically New York. Since he was so young, he was able to lose most of his English accent and adopt more of an American accent and way of talking. Ashton's dad, Rodger, wanted to move the family to New York to expand his Hedge Fund company that he was working for in England. He became the CFO of the New York Hedge Fund company, becoming a multi-millionaire in the early 90s and giving his family a wealthy background. In the winter of 1994, Julie died tragically in a car accident, leaving the Vail children and Rodger without a mother.
As a child, Ashton took up baseball and soccer, playing Center Field and Goalie. Playing these sports gave him an athletic build and the endurance to become a wrestler later in life. He played baseball until high school started, but continued playing soccer all throughout high school. He was never the best at either sport, but it kept him in shape. He attended college at Stony Brook University on Long Island, which is where he found his love of wrestling. There were two nearby wrestling schools to his college, with a local independent wrestling promotion on Long Island in Huntington, about 40 minutes from where Ashton went to school. His roommate was a backyard wrestler and attended one of the wrestling schools and got Ashton to join him on weekends. Ashton loved it so much, he would go to wrestling school four days a week after his classes. After his sophomore year of college, he dropped out, pursuing his love of professional wrestling and ultimately influencing the rest of his siblings to wrestle. At the age of 20, he was a professional wrestler and never looked back.
He stayed on the NY/NJ independent scene for a few years until the early 2010's when after being scouted, he signed with Shootclub Wrestling Alliance, SWA. He packed his bags and moved to Arizona where he met his good friend and mentor, Nashville Joe. Like stated earlier, Joe taught him the ropes and helped him become the wrestler he always wanted to be. He helped him with his promos, wrestling skills, attitude, and how to handle the pressure. After winning a title in Arizona, he followed his mentor down to Mexico, where he became a household name. He won a tag team title in Mexico, wrestled great matches and proved to the world he was a true main eventer. After that, he went to Las Vegas where he won another championship and started to gain name recognition in the U.S. After Vegas, he bounced around SWA in Canada, Australia, and New York, but not doing much. The SWA then closed its doors and Ashton was without a job. He bounced around from random companies for a few years before leaving the mainstream companies and going to some smaller independents.
In 2016, his brother Alec died of an overdose which led to Ashton getting depressed. He then got a shoulder injury in late 2016, getting surgery and getting prescriptions to painkillers. Fast forward a year into late 2017 and he was found on the floor of his bathroom by his then-girlfriend, now ex-girlfriend Emma Byrnes. He was placed in rehab for painkiller addiction at the start of 2018. After a six month stay, rehabbing his body, and getting back into wrestling shape, he is ready to show the world that Ace Voltage is back.
