4 -- She’s brash, opinionated, arrogant, vicious, and she can border on spiteful...but Laura’s not an evil person, per se. She doesn’t go looking for people to hate like she might have been once upon a time in her career...but, she has no problem doing what she has to do to ensure she gets her way. She can be manipulative, she can be deceitful, she can be provocative, she doesn’t mind relying on weapons, dirty tricks, or mind games to win a match. Very much “the ends justify the means,” she’ll do whatever she needs to do in order to take whatever she wants...but (at least to her) it’s rarely personal.

WRESTLING STYLE:
1. Technician/Submission -- If Laura absolutely had to pin herself down as one particular style, she'd probably call herself a technical wrestler. She gets a certain childish glee out of outwrestling people, especially people who dismiss her because she's small, or because she's mostly stayed in smaller companies, or whatever the logic is. She's not the most aggressive, though, and tends to be more of a counter wrestler, waiting for her opportunities rather than actively trying to create them.
2. Jack of All Trades -- This is more of an honest statement of who Laura is as a wrestler; she's variously "pretty good" to "great" at everything, but she's not exactly exceptional at anything other than counter-wrestling. Those that are exceptional at any one style will outdo her.
FINISHING MOVES:
(Up to 4 MAX)
1. New Jersey Necktie - Rings of Saturn
1a. Break Even - Armbar-centric version (Generally reserved for bigger matches or when nothing else has worked)

5. Italian Arm Trick: Tilt-a-Whirl Headscissor Armbar (sometimes used as a setup to the New Jersey Necktie)

RING ENTRANCE:
The arena goes dark for just a moment, as the opening riffs to Voodoo Johnson's "United Divided" play through the PA, before the white lights are replaced by swirling blue and yellow replacements. A few seconds pass, though, and it’s only when the drum beat kicks in that the curtain is pushed aside, and Laura Perelli comes spinning through, immediately spreading her arms out wide, a sly little smile on her face as she glances out into the arena. She holds her spot in the center of the stage, rolling her neck out to either side, only making her way down the ramp when she’s good and ready.
Laura’s not exactly in a particular hurry, as she more saunters down the ring, occasionally glancing to either side of her to take in the fans at the aisleway. It’s never for more than a moment or two, though, as the most regard Laura’s willing to give is a little tilt of the head to one fan in particular trying to get her attention--whatever he may have been saying, it didn’t do much to faze her, and she just continues to move on. At her own pace, she eventually reaches the ring steps, pausing with one boot on the bottom step, closing her eyes for just a second before quickly jogging up onto the apron, casually wiping the soles of her boots off before spinning around to face the crowd--if only to smirk a little bit.
Announcer: Introducing [first/next], from Trenton, New Jersey, weighing in at 127 lbs, this is LAURAAAAA PERRELLIIIIIIIII!
Laura swings herself through the ropes, spinning in a half circle to face the opposite side fans and stretching both arms out, holding the pose for more than a couple seconds before eventually backing herself into her corner, shrugging her jacket off and dumping it out of the ring. Grabbing the top rope with one hand, she leans down, stretching her opposite leg out in preparation for the match.

She holds her spot in the center of the stage, rolling her neck out to either side before unstrapping the [TITLENAME] belt from around her waist, raising it up overhead. There’s more than a second of her relishing holding the belt up before she drapes it over her shoulder, only making her way down the ramp when she’s good and ready.

At her own pace, she reaches the end of the ramp, and one fan in particular seems to catch her attention--for a moment, at least--as she takes a second to flaunt the belt on her shoulder to him. She eventually reaches the ring steps, pausing with one boot on the bottom step, closing her eyes for just a second before quickly jogging up onto the apron, casually wiping the soles of her boots off before spinning around to face the crowd--if only to smirk a little bit, and raise her title up again.

Laura swings herself through the ropes, spinning in a half circle to face the opposite side fans and stretching one arm out, lifting the belt up with the other. She holds the pose for more than a couple seconds before eventually backing herself into her corner, laying her title down in front of her before shrugging her jacket off and dumping it out of the ring. Grabbing the top rope with one hand, she leans down, stretching her opposite leg out in preparation for the match.
CHARACTER BACKGROUND
PERSONALITY:
Confident to the edge of cockiness, Laura Perelli became a fixture of the New England wrestling scene over the past three years, but hasn’t really had that big breakout moment--despite that, she’s convinced she’s more than ready to take on some of the best.
STRENGTHS:
1. Intelligence and Awareness: She may not be the most experienced in the world, but focusing herself primarily on technical wrestling has had the side-effect of teaching Laura to know exactly where she’s at in the ring at all times, and what she can do from where she is. She translates this, especially, into counter-wrestling, and being aware of what her opponents are going to do. She has an intricate knowledge of anatomy and where, exactly, to put pressure to make a submission more effective, and has worked herself to being quite adept in getting to exactly that point.
2. Natural Athlete: Laura grew up playing sports. She's never not been an athlete. She doesn't been bend to pressure (in terms of championship matches and such), and it takes a lot to wear her out.
3. Well-Rounded: Laura may have a fondness for technical wrestling, but she’s no stranger to striking, high-flying, or hardcore styles. She prides herself on being able to adapt to whatever she needs to do.
WEAKNESSES:
1. Big Fish, Small Pond: Laura's ego is a little inflated for someone that's only wrestled in small companies in the Northeast. While she may have been among the best she knew, that's a relatively small corner of wrestling up to this point. She can fairly easily be goaded into proving herself, even when she doesn't need to.
2. Pride in Her Skills: Laura's counter-wrestling has always been her specialty, but it comes with it's own drawback--she gets increasingly frustrated the more and more she can't find a counter for something. Whether it's a better technical wrestler controlling her, a faster opponent outpacing her, or (over a longer period of time) that one opponent's move that she just can't stop, she can develop tunnel vision trying to catch them, leaving herself open to get caught.
3. Puny God: Laura may fancy herself as one of the best wrestlers in the world, but she's still small, skinny, and not as physically strong as she thinks she is. She won't exactly be knocking anyone out with her strikes, and powerhouses will have fun throwing her into row 6.
TAUNTS/MANNERISMS:
1. At least once a match, after escaping a hold or dodging a move, Laura takes a second to make an exaggerated shrug, almost the ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ face, to her opponent.
2. Not necessarily every match, as it will depend on how she feels about the other person, but she has no problem deliberately goading opponents into making mistakes, especially early in the match--she will offer a free shot to people that fancy themselves strikers, stick a leg out for grapplers to shoot on, lay down for aerial wrestlers, haul off and slap people with tempers, anything she can to take their mind out of the game early on, because she's (some would say overly) confident that she has a counter for whatever they do.

BACKGROUND:
Rebecca Pickett was “that girl” in high school--the one that tended to have everything she wanted, whether by her own work or by her parents (particularly her step-father) having money. She was the star athlete, she was the prom queen, she was one of the most wanted girls in the school, and she knew it. She learned, from a relatively young age, how to take advantage of people, and used every advantage she possibly had--whether it was her appearance, her influence, or her money.
She developed an interest in professional wrestling in high school, when her father took her to a show to try to share his interest with her. Initially, she didn’t enjoy it, due to the objectification of women inherent in the business. However, there was one women’s match that fascinated her, a technical masterclass that kept her captivated throughout. While she wasn’t initially interested in actually being a wrestler, after attending a few shows, she discovered a camp put on by Buffalo-based Border City Wrestling, at the same time as Ashley Monroe and Jessica Reynolds, who would become the tag team known as the Lipstick Mafia.
While training, she attended SUNY at Buffalo, graduating after five years with a Masters in Business Administration--but her heart wasn’t set on finding a job in the financial sector at 22. Despite taking on a dual-degree program, she never missed a training session, and once she felt like she was ready to start competing, she branched out into all sorts of promotions in the Northeast, including Border City Wrestling itself, New England Wrestling in Boston and Massachusetts’ North Shore, Big Apple Wrestling (not the one affiliated with the IJWF), and Pro Wrestling: REVOLT in New Jersey.
As she refined both her skills, and herself, she moved away from being Rebecca Pickett, and formed a new persona--Laura Perelli. Laura Perelli ramped everything that Rebecca Pickett already was, up to 11: she was hyper-confident, bordering on self-absorbed, and those who came up against her frequently called her entitled, owing to a reputation she gained of being a "princess." She was also incredibly intelligent, frequently listing off the biological and physiological reasons that her skillset would be better than her opponents--and the consequences, if it was. Her personal favorite threat was the knowledge that “it only takes 4 pounds of pressure to snap an arm,” frequently told to an opponent while they were stuck in an armbar.
She made her first major appearance away from New England as part of Christian Kincaid’s first Overpowered Tournament, but was eliminated in first round by Katie Anderson. She would come back and defeat Bianca Reed and Jessica Anderson to earn a bye into the second tournament. That taste of spotlight, though, drove her to look beyond the small promotions in New England, for somewhere that she could really step into her own.
