ENTRANCE & ATTIRE
ENTRANCE MUSIC:
"I Won't Back Down" by Burn Halo
RING ATTIRE:
Shirtless with jeans and Nike sneakers
RING ENTRANCE:
"I Won't Back Down" by Burn Halo fills the arena. At the first drum beats, a spotlight flickers on the entrance way with Jones coming out as the bass starts in a surge of energy. He spins a full circle with his arms stretched out to revel in the crowd's energy. The spin completes at the top of the ramp where Jones drops to a knee with a big, over-handed fist pump. PJ takes a moment to enjoy the cheers around him and collect his thoughts before hopping to his feet. He jogs down the ramp, talking to and high-fiving fans, trying to get them as pumped up and ready to go as he is. Jones goes straight from the ramp and jumps onto the ring apron before ducking through the second and third rope, giving another, slower spin just to drink in the environment.
CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRANCE:
"I Won't Back Down" by Burn Halo fills the arena. At the first drum beats, a spotlight flickers on the entrance way with Jones coming out as the bass starts in a surge of energy. His [Insert Championship Name] belt is slung over his shoulder. He spins a full circle with one arm stretched out to revel in the crowd's energy while the other holds the title in place. The spin completes at the top of the ramp where Jones drops to a knee with a big, over-handed fist pump. PJ takes a moment to enjoy the cheers around him and collect his thoughts before hopping to his feet while simultaneously lifting the belt high in the air. Jones places the belt back on his shoulder and jogs down the ramp, talking to and high-fiving fans while trying to get them as pumped up and ready to go as he is. Jones goes straight from the ramp and jumps onto the ring apron before ducking through the second and third rope, giving another, slower spin just to drink in the environment.
CHARACTER BACKGROUND
PERSONALITY:
Jones is the quintessential "good guy". He is fiercely loyal to his friends with a strong sense of honor. However, his moral standards do not get in the way of him enjoying himself. PJ takes his work in the ring very seriously, but he never gets too stressed or worked up about it, preferring to stay loose and relaxed. When faced with a serious situation, jokes or other light-hearted comment are the preferred way of staying loose. The only way to really see Patrick get worked up is if someone attacks his friends or does something that causes a widely spread negative outcome, especially authority figures abusing power. That willingness to push back against authority along with past shows of wit has seen Jones labeled as a rebel by owners who do not have the best of intentions for their roster.
STRENGTHS:
1. Relaxed: Things don't rattle him often. PJ is able to let adversity slide off his back, usually with a smile. This helps keep Jones from making stupid mistakes from frustration or losing his cool.
2. Well-Educated: He may not be super serious, but Jones is a student of wrestling. Especially in his early days, he would study opponents until he knew them as well as himself. His approach is not that overly particular, but he still makes sure to have a basic understanding. All of that earlier work and his experience and association with some of the best in wrestling have greatly accelerated his wrestling education. As such, he is prepared for most situations.
3. Heart: Jones earned this reputation in NGW, but he really made it public in TEW. He's not the fastest or strongest, but PJ's one physical ability is to take a beating. Whether it stems from a sense of honor or the desire to do his best to make the fans happy, he has drug himself through hell in matches that seemed to be losing fights. Patrick is not superhuman or immune to pain. His tolerance is average for a fighter, but he posses a will to go on that can sometimes allow a burst of adrenaline to kick out of a pinfall, make that last lunge to the ropes for a break, or even strike with a desperation Zoned Out, especially in the biggest moments.
WEAKNESSES:
1.Average Athlete: He is not weak or slow by any stretch of the imagination. However, Jones is not lightning fast or impressively strong. He relies more on his mind and heart to get through. Sure, he can deliver his Zoned Out and every other move in his arsenal effectively, but, in boxing terms, he just does not have that "one punch knockout power" that can turn a match with a few strong attacks.
2.Pandering to the Fans: An entertainer at heart, PJ can be caught out sometimes. The crowd fuels the adrenaline in his veins. They make his heart beat. He can get lost in the atmosphere though. It is not that Jones does not respect his competition. Patrick almost enjoys his job too much. Like a kid in a candy store, his eyes might be taken off the prize for just that little second as he adds a little theater to a move or just a playful taunt.
3.Heart on his Sleeve: Jones is a genuine guy. He trusts people. He does not put on a show for anyone. With PJ, what you see is what you get. That trait can hurt him though. Others might take advantage of his honesty and openness. That wide open nature can give those who do not follow such strict moral codes a good idea of how to target him. Opponents can learn where to hit him emotionally and psychologically to throw him off. However, they should be careful. Once his trust is breached, it can be very difficult to earn it back.

BACKGROUND:
Patrick Jones started his life in Louisville, moved away, and came back for his wrestling training. With his training complete, he moved around between a few smaller promotions before landing himself in TEW. There, Jones started at the bottom and slowly crawled towards the top, but he never reached his goals. However, along the way, he did have some minor successes which only fueled his desire. PJ, as his friends often call him, has been known to enjoy tag team wrestling, often forming alliances with friends to further their careers mutually. His most famous teaming was part of the group Faction Elite with Dave McDave, Chris Sheckler, and "LBK" Shane Michaels. That group faded with Sheckler and Michaels mysteriously leaving TEW with little evidence of why they left or where they were going, or even if they would return. Being the only two left, Jones formed a close friendship with McDave that extended beyond just wrestling. Then, suddenly, in October of 2010, TEW ceased operation. The original rumors hinted at a short hiatus, but to this day TEW has stayed closed, even as occasional rumblings hint at a return. In the meantime, Jones has stayed off the radar except for a single match in GOW at Genesis XXI. GOW's subsequent issues have left the question on Jones hanging yet again.
PJ has had a bit of a roller coaster ride in NEW. He main evented his second and third PPVs (WWX 2013 in Stable Wars and Kamikaze 2013 in Terror Dome). He didn't win either, but he carried the momentum to a Trans-Atlantic title match. After losing that match, his performance declined. Jones corrected course to win the YoungBlood title and have one of the better reigns in recent memory. It took former NEW champion Bobby Backdoor to beat PJ, and Backdoor subsequently had possibly the most impressive reign as YB champion ever. Like other instances where Patrick has fallen short in the lime-light, he faltered going forward. Winter of 2013/2014 saw him struggle and even take a short LOA from NEW. Spring of 2014 saw an improvement in PJ's in-ring success, but he was reaching a boiling point with issues pertaining to NEW as a company. He actually hatched a rather dastardly plan after being contacted by VOW to join the fledgling company. The plan did not come to fruition in what is likely a lucky move for all parties involved as the ramifications could have been disastrous. Instead, he left by stating his mind.
Jones had a strange tenure in VOW. He struggled to ever get into any rhythm in the ring, including numerous times being taken away from the ring due to personal issues. In just over 3 years of the bi-weekly promotion, Jones amassed a 9-25-1 record overall while going 7-12-1 in singles matches. PJ often found himself in the uncomfortable position of Triple Threat, Fatal 4-Way, or sometimes larger matches. When VOW folded in September 2016, Jones moved back to Louisville and used the money he had earned and mostly saved from years of wrestling and self-promotion (including but not limited to an NEW-promoted venture into the Ramen noodle market) to go into business. Those exact ventures have been kept out of the public eye, but Jones announced his exit from those businesses to return to the ring. What is next in the career of one of the most inconsistent but highly capable wrestlers in the world?
