STREET FIGHT
Ashley Sullivan vs. Sloan Talbot
Tony Allen: The following contest is scheduled for one fall… and it is a STREEEET FIIIIIIGHT!
The audience roars at the announcement-- but boos begin to overcome the arena once the first few bars of “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” begin to play and the lights pulsate in time with the music. Slowly the curtains part, and Sloan Talbot steps through - his pace slow and methodical.
“You can run on for a long time
Run on for a long time
Run on for a long time
Sooner or later God'll cut you down
Sooner or later God'll cut you down...”
Tony Allen: Introducing first, hailing from Saint Michael Monaco, weighing in at two hundred and forty-seven pounds… SLOOOAAAAN TAAAALBOT!
Sloan runs a hand through his hair as he makes his way down the aisle, a stoic expression on his face. Completely ignoring the fans either side of him Talbot reaches ringside, placing a knee on the apron before pulling himself up using the middle rope. He takes a quick glance around the arena before stepping into the ring and making his way to the corner.
Tony Allen: And his opponent…
The opening guitar riff of "Warrior" by Skarlett Riot begins to play over the sound system seconds before the Hybrid Champion Ashley Sullivan walks out onto the stage. Pointing out to the fans all over the arena, Sullivan walks down to the ring. Once she gets down to ringside, and gets on the apron before climbing the turnbuckle from the outside. She nimbly climbs the turnbuckle from the outside to perch atop the top rope as she sits on her knees.
Tony Allen: Ladies and gentlemen, representing AAA, from Bradley Beach, New Jersey… AAASHLEY SULLIVAAAN!
With her name being announced, Ashley holds both of her arms up as she lays back on the turnbuckle post behind her. Flashing from cameras going off all around her, Sullivan rolls forwards to flip down into the ring and land on her feet.
Geoff Penzer: Last time we saw Ashley Sullivan and Sloan Talbot in the same arena, security had t-- LOOK OUT!
Sloan Talbot charges across the corner and smashes into Sullivan with an elbow smash as soon as she turns around! Sullivan is thrown into the corner, grabbing at her jaw with wide eyes. Boos rain down in Talbot and the referee looks to be at a complete loss-- before he signals for the bell!
Geoff Penzer: The official may not like it, but this is a street fight! No count-outs! No disqualifications! If these competitors don’t wanna wait for his call, then this match starts when they make contact!
Talbot continues to stomp away at Ash Sully as she tries to cover up in the corner. A second time, a third, fourth, fifth-- before he rips her to her feet by a handful of hair and lands another elbow smash, this one catching Sullivan across the temple! Ash tumbles out of the ring over the bottom rope, spilling to the floor below. Talbot slides out behind her, stalking Sullivan to her feet.
Geoff Penzer: Sloan Talbot is wasting no time closing the space! He had every intention of making a statement against the former FGA World Champion, Jimmy Page on Flashpoint two weeks ago and in
his mind, Ash Sullivan took that moment away from him. And now he’s picking up right where he left off!
Talbot yanks Sullivan up by the hair again before Irish Whipping her into the steel steps. The stairs disconnect from the impact and Sullivan groans in pain as she rolls across the floor. Talbot delivers a stomp to her ribs for good measure before striding past, toward the timekeeper’s area.
Geoff Penzer: Is this necessary? I know there are no holds barred here, but--
The timekeeper moves out of harm’s way as Sloan moves toward him. Talbot rips the chair off the ground and slams it shut, making his way back toward the grounded Ashley Sullivan. Sullivan uses the ring skirt to pull herself to her knees. Talbot draws nearer, white-knuckle grip on the chair before swinging it like a club right at Sully’s skull! The audience gasps--
Geoff Penzer: GOD!
--but Ash ducks at the last second! The chair smashes into the ring apron with a
CLANG! Sloan grunts, dropping the chair as the reverberation shocks his fingers-- and in one swift motion, Sullivan rises to her feet and lands a Spinning Heel Kick! Talbot staggers, but remains upright… until Sullivan springs to her feet and nails a Dropkick, sending Sloan stumbling into the announce table!
Geoff Penzer: This side of the announce desk doesn’t need to feature in any part of this Street Fight, thank you!
Apparently not hearing the announcer, Sullivan rushes forward and nails a Bulldog, driving Sloan’s skull into the atop of the announce desk while Sullivan lands seated on top! Sloan stumbles away from the table as Sullivan rises to her feet-- before leaping off with a Moonsault!
Geoff Penzer: Moonsault by Su-- TALBOT CAUGHT HER!
A collective
“OOOOHH…” echoes throughout the arena as Talbot captures the smaller Sullivan on his shoulder. He shakes his head and pivots, rushing straight for the steel post, looking to spike Sullivan like a dart-- but Ashley drops down behind Talbot, shoving him forward, face-first into the ring steel! Talbot cries out in agony, cupping his hands over his nose. He turns around, guard up, but Sullivan leaps up onto the apron and, with a running start, nails Talbot with a Hurricanrana on the floor! Talbot is flung into the ring post for a second time, taking him off his feet to a roar from Vancouver!
Geoff Penzer: A wicked Hurricanrana by Sullivan pops the crowd… and that second pop I heard might’ve been Sloan Talbot’s nose!
The audience grows even louder as Sullivan rises to her feet… and her eyes lower toward the fallen steel chair which now lies between her and Talbot. A smirk crosses her lips as she kneels down to pick it up, eyes now locked on Talbot, who pulls himself to his feet with the ring apron just as Sullivan had. Talbot turns around as Ash lifts the chair high above her head-- and he stops her with a boot to the midsection! The chair clatters to the ground and Talbot rolls into the ring beneath the bottom rope.
Geoff Penzer: Talbot’s looking to roll out of harm’s way, but Ash is right behind him!
Sullivan enters the ring under the adjacent bottom rope and immediately mounts Talbot, raining closed fists down on him! Sloan Talbot does his best to cover up, but several of the shots land flush! Sullivan rises to her feet again, roaring back out into the raucous audience. She turns, stalking the groggy Talbot to his feet-- before blasting him with a Savate Kick that knocks him into the corner. Wasting no time, Sullivan shoots the farthest set of ropes, before rounding back and blasting Talbot with a boot in the corner! Stunned, Talbot staggers out of the corner, falling face-first to the canvas!
Geoff Penzer: Wind Kick! Sullivan’s feeling it! She’s going up top!
Ashley Sullivan steps through the ropes and quickly makes her way to the top turnbuckle…
...but Sloan Talbot slowly rolls across the ring, farther and farther away from the perched Sullivan. Boos echo throughout the arena and Sullivan shakes her head a bit before hopping down from the turnbuckles and striding over to her downed opponent.
Geoff Penzer: I know Sullivan is eager to lay into Talbot here but she needs to be careful. She’s dictating the pace of this match and she doesn’t wanna give that up to her bigger opponent here.
Sullivan reaches down, grabbing Talbot in a facelock-- but he shifts his weight, sending Ash throat-first across the middle rope with a modified Drop Toehold! Sullivan gasps for air, flailing on the mat, but Talbot is quick to leap up, nailing an elbow drop across Sullivan’s temple! He nails his smaller opponent with a series of elbow strikes before he scrambles for a cover, but Sullivan is quick to slide out to the apron.
Geoff Penzer: Normally I would call this a smart move, but there’s no real safety outside of the ring in this match!
As if on the commentator’s cue, Talbot slides out of the ring behind Sullivan, grabbing a handful of hair. He pivots, sending Sullivan crashing into the ringside barrier before she can catch a breath! Expressionless, Talbot strides forward, using his boot to shove Sullivan’s head against the barricade, sandwiching it. Sullivan cries out, flailing.
Geoff Penzer: Wha-- he’s trying to fracture her skull! He can’t win this match outside of the ring but he can’t be disqualified either! Every time Ash leaves the ring, she’s putting herself in danger. Sloan Talbot is a brawler. He has a hundred pounds on his opponent, easily, and this is an example of what this environment allows him to do.
Finally, Talbot stands upright, breaking the unorthodox “hold.” Boos rain down, but his eyes remain locked on Sullivan. As she reaches a knee, Talbot reaches down for her hair again, but Sullivan swats him off, crawling away toward the ring. Talbot stalks after her, grabbing a boot as Sullivan reavhes beneath the ring apron. With a grunt, he yanks her toward him--
CRACK!From beneath the ring, Sullivan retrieves a kendo stick, swinging it and smashing it across the bridge of Talbot’s nose in one fluid motion! The shot echoes throughout the arena and Sullivan rises to a knee, hitting a second shot, then finally to her feet, hitting a third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh…! The audience roars in approval and Talbot cries out in pain, moving away from Sullivan. He turns, trying to use his arm to cover up, but an eighth shot splinters the stick against his forearm! Sullivan swings it again, catching Talbot across the ear!
CRACK!Geoff Penzer: Ashley Sullivan has come unglued!
A tenth shot smashes across Talbot’s cheek!
CRACK! An eleventh against his neck!
CRACK! A twelfth into his shoulder!
CRACK! A thirteenth into his hand as he turns to get a guard up--
CRACK! and a fourteenth--
CRACK! and a fifteenth, this one catching him flush across the throat! Talbot finally falls to the ground, gasping for air. Sullivan raises the remnants of the broken, splintered kendo stick high above her head, glaring down at her opponent as Vancouver roars in approval.
Geoff Penzer: A month ago, Sloan Talbot accosted Ashley Sullivan before her match with the International Heavyweight Champion, Chandler Scott. Sullivan left FGA and traveled the world, making a name for herself away from her AAA teammates and came back with a golden opportunity in the main event of Flashpoint-- and she felt that it was stolen from her. Now she’s determined to make Talbot pay for it!
Welts are forming all over Sloan Talbot’s body. Blood streams from his left eardrum, but as the camera pans back to Sullivan-- we see her reaching beneath the ring apron, retrieving a second steel chair! She raises it into the air, earning a pop from Vancouver, before slamming it down across the spine of the rising Sloan Talbot! Talbot hisses in pain, and a second shot to the spine takes him to his knees! Shaking from the pain, Talbot grabs at Sullivan, managing to snatch the chair from her grasp-- only for her to drive it right into his temple with a straight boot! The chair flies up the ramp from the impact and Talbot slowly collapses to his back. Sullivan nods out to the audience, many of whom are on their feet to applaud the assault.
Geoff Penzer: There’s absolutely no sympathy for Sloan Talbot here inside the Rogers Arena!
The AAA member walks back to the ring, lifting up the ring skirt again… and she pauses, taking a deep breath before dragging a table out from beneath the ring!
Geoff Penzer: Things are going from bad to worse for the big man from Monaco!
A roar surges throughout the building as Sullivan turns the table to its side, beginning to unfold the legs-- but she turns, looking over her shoulder as Sloan Talbot begins to crawl up the ramp. Sullivan shakes her head, abandoning the table to pivot and sprint toward the crawling Talbot-- only for the big man to spring to his feet, laying into Sullivan with a desperation Lariat, driving her into the ramp!
Geoff Penzer: Just like that! Just that sudden!
Sullivan clutches the back of her head, writhing in pain as Sloan stirs. Eardrum still bleeding, he wipes blood off of the side of his face, leaving a crimson handprint on the ramp as he reaches his feet. Talbot reaches down, ripping the dazed Sullivan to her feet as he turns his gaze toward the crowd nearest to the ramp behind the barrier-- and with a grunt, he hoists Sullivan up as if for a Suplex…
Geoff Penzer: No…
...before running forward and launching Sullivan from the ramp, over the barricade toward the front row! The Vancouver fans scramble out of the way with centimeters to spare as Sullivan smashes into the now empty row of chairs. They fold around her body and the AAA member crashes hard to the concrete!
Geoff Penzer: NO!
Chants of
“HOLY SHIT!” bounce off the walls of the Rogers Arena as Talbot continues to wipe the blood from his neck, staring steadily at Ash Sully.
Geoff Penzer: Ashley Sullivan just got launched seven, eight feet through the air into pure steel and concrete. I know this is a street fight but the official needs to get in there and make sure she’s fit to continue!
Sullivan shakily pushes a chair off of herself, planting her palms on another one to push herself up off the floor. Suddenly, we see a cameraman shoved out of the way in the background with Talbot using the electrical cord to reach over the barricade and choke Sullivan! Ash’s eyes grow wide and she flails, trying to fight back as the cable grows tighter around her throat.
“SULLY!”
“SULLY!”
“SULLY!”
“SULLY!”
Vancouver tries to will Sullivan on, but there’s a gasp as she’s violently ripped over the barricade and onto the ramp, electrical cord still wrapped around her neck. Her eyes visibly grow glassy as Talbot forces her up to her feet.
Geoff Penzer: This is what Talbot was trying to do to Jimmy Page two weeks ago before Sullivan interrupted, but there’s no one stopping him this time!
Talbot half-walks, half-drags Sullivan down the ring, using the cable almost as a leash. Talbot uses his foot to nudge the abandoned table aside before rolling Sullivan into the ring, mercifully ending the half-minute of strangling. Talbot enters after her, ripping her back to her feet before nailing a Fallaway Slam! Sullivan lands limp in the center of the ring and Talbot kneels down, hooking the far leg for a cover!
Geoff Penzer: Believe it or not, this is the first pinfall attempt of the match!

Talbot pops out of the hold, a rare look of surprise etched on his face! He scrambles to his feet as the groggy Sullivan tries to do the same, but immediately, Talbot drives her to the mat with a Lariat! Ash cries out in pain, clutching the back of her head while boos rain down on Talbot.
Geoff Penzer: Sloan Talbot was dominating this match and Ash almost turned this whole thing on its head in a split-second! He cannot underestimate his opponent here.
Talbot pulls himself to his feet again, staring a hole through Sullivan. He reaches down, grasping her throat with one hand before her hoisting her up, high above his head for a deadlift Chokeslam-- but Sullivan brings her leg around, nailing Talbot in the base of the neck with a modified Axe Kick! Talbot staggers forward, dropping Sullivan a he grabs at his neck-- and Sullivan nails a Spinning Heel Kick to the back of his head! Talbot hits a knee and Sullivan shoots the ropes before rebounding, nailing a one-handed Bulldog!
Geoff Penzer: Ash Sullivan is still fighting! She refuses to quit!
The bloodied-and-bruised Talbot pushes himself up to a knee, glaring at Sullivan as she rises to her feet. Talbot shakes his head and leaps up, rushing at Sullivan for a Clothesline-- but he sprints directly into a Front Dropkick! Sullivan rolls into a cover, hooking the near leg!

Kickout! The momentum sends Sullivan rolling… and she rolls all the way to the apron! Using the ropes to pull herself up, Ash runs to the corner and climbs to the top turnbuckle. Talbot rises to his feet as Ash Sully leaps from the top rope, nailing a Flying Blockbuster! Both Grapplers bounce off the mat, but Sullivan writhes in pain, rolling farther from Talbot.
Geoff Penzer: Huge Blockbuster but Ashley Sullivan can’t capitalize! This match has taken a toll!
She slams a hand on the mat in frustration before pulling herself back up, screaming for Talbot to do the same. Talbot shakily gets to a knee before Sullivan smashes into him with a Shining Wizard! Sitting on top of him, she reaches back, hooking his left leg while the audience counts along with the ref!

Sullivan kicks out, earning a roar from Vancouver, while Talbot rolls onto his elbows and knees, staring into the eyes of the official.
Geoff Penzer: That look says it all.
Talbot forces Sullivan to her feet and grunts as he tosses her overhead with a Release Fisherman Suplex! Sullivan sits upright from the impact, eyes rolling into the back of her head before she rolls onto her back. Now seated, Talbot’s gaze falls to the overturned table outside of the ring. He narrows his eyes, looking from the table, back to his opponent, before leaning back to grab Ash’s wrist, dragging her out to the apron as he drops down to the floor.
Geoff Penzer: The gears are turning and-- and this doesn’t look good for Ash…
Talbot steadies the legs of the table and sets it upright before dragging it back about two feet from the apron. Ash uses the ropes to pull herself to her feet on the apron, but Talbot calmly walks up the steel steps before racing across the apron, nailing a European Uppercut! Sullivan falls to her back, clutching the back of her head again as it hits the apron. She climbs upright again, but a second European Uppercut sends her back down to the apron. Talbot looks over his shoulder back to the table before forcing Sullivan up by her hair. He hooks her for a Suplex!
Geoff Penzer: Oh God!
Sullivan tries to fight out of the facelock with fists to the ribs, focusing on a welt on his abdomen, but Talbot stuns her with a knee to the gut before hooking her again.
Geoff Penzer: Talbot’s looking for Enter Tragedy right through that table! He’s gonna break her in half!
Talbot lifts Sullivan straight up in the air and staggers back for the Superplex-- but Sullivan flails wildly and lands a knee strike to the crown of Sloan’s skull! Talbot loses his grip and Sullivan drops to her feet inside the ring while Talbot teeters on the apron, prompting a roller-coaster
“...OOOOOOOHHHHH…” from the audience! Sullivan races to the corner and steps up to the middle turnbuckle, then the top before turning to hit a Moonsault to Talbot, sending both competitors crashing from the apron to the table below! A roar surges throughout the Rogers Arena as both Grapplers writhe on the floor outside the ring.
“HOLY SHIT!”
“HOLY SHIT!”
“HOLY SHIT!”
“HOLY SHIT!”
The referee checks on both competitors, but ultimately seems unsure of what to do!
Geoff Penzer: Ash Sullivan just risked her own body to absolutely
destroy Sloan Talbot but she can’t make the cover out there! Now she has to get her near two-hundred-and-fifty pound opponent off the floor and into the ring to make a cover!
Chants of
“SULLY!” overtake the Rogers Arena as Ash scoots back against the apron, holding her head, waving off the ref that asks if she wants to continue. She pulls herself to her feet and begins kicking the scraps of wood away before stooping down, trying to force Talbot up to his feet. She cries out as she struggles to get him up to a knee, but manages to hoist him up, leaning him against the apron! With another deep breath, Sullivan pulls Talbot’s legs up onto the apron and shoves him into the ring beneath the bottom rope!
Geoff Penzer: She’s got him in the ring! Just make the cover, Ash!
Sullivan slides into the ring beneath the bottom rope and dives on top of Talbot, hooking the far leg! The referee is a second behind cue, but enters the ring behind Ash and drops into position!

Talbot shoots a shoulder off the canvas! Sullivan sits upright, looking distraught… but she shakes it off, glaring at Talbot while she shakily rises to her feet.
Geoff Penzer: Ash Sullivan is in agony but she has been taking the fight to Sloan Talbot every step of the way. She feels it-- she needs one more shot to put this away!
Sullivan yells for Talbot to get up. The bloodied Talbot struggles to get to a knee and Sullivan blasts him with a Super Kick! Talbot reels, but staggers to his feet! Sullivan leaps up onto his shoulders and goes for a Hurricanrana-- but Talbot plants his feet, blocking the move! The audience groans as Talbot grunts in exertion, launching Sullivan up into the air-- before blasting her out of the air with an elbow smash!
Geoff Penzer: JESUS!
Sullivan crashes and burns to the mat while Talbot falls back against the ropes for support. Shakily, Sullivan gets upright, clenching her hands into fists-- but she walks right into a boot to the gut! Talbot hoists Sullivan above his head for the Gorilla Press!
Geoff Penzer: Diggin’ Graves!
...but Sullivan squirms out of it in mid-air and drops down, spiking Talbot into the mat with a DDT! The audience roars in approval while Sullivan half-crawls, half-stumbles to the corner!

The bell sounds and “Warrior” hits the PA system! Sullivan rolls to her knees, beaming in spite of the obvious pain etched on her face while the ref raises her arm.
Tony Allen: Here is your winner… AAAASSSHLEY SUUULLLIVAAAAN!
Sullivan doesn’t linger inside the ring, quickly exiting as Sloan Talbot begins to stir, though the ref exits with her, raising her arm once more at the bottom of the ramp as the crowd inside the Rogers Arena roars in approval.
Geoff Penzer: Ash Sullivan has gained revenge tonight!
Sullivan walks up the ramp, slapping the outstretched hands of fans. As she pauses to take a picture with a young fan, our cameras pan back to Sloan Talbot, who reaches his knees in the ring, an indistinguishable look on his face, but unwavering as he looks out to the audience.
Geoff Penzer: I don’t think anyone was quite expecting what we saw from Ashley Sullivan here tonight, including that man. As for Ash-- it may not have netted her that International Heavyweight Title opportunity she was looking for a month ago, but eyes are on her now. What a fight and what a victory!
We fade away as Sullivan continues up the ramp and toward the back, leaving Talbot in the ring surrounded by the wreckage from the Street Fight.
