The scene opens backstage, where the tired and beat up looking pair of Dan Herrera and Peaches are standing by with Amanda Johnson. Dan seems apprehensive as he cranks his neck, obviously still feeling the effects of that lariat. Peaches is holding her head, but still smiling as the interview gets underway.
Amanda Johnson: Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here with the members of the Polychromatic Lion Attack Squad.
Peaches: Always a pleasure, Amanda.
Amanda Johnson: Guys, tonight we saw you and the Dogs of War battle to a draw in your number one contenders match. So, the question is where does that leave you now?
Dan asks for the microphone as Amanda turns to her right to face him.
Dan Herrera: We’re not too sure on that front right now; Hadley will probably make an official decision on the next Flashpoint.
Peaches: I assume a triple threat though.
Dan Herrera: That’s the obvious choice. Neither of us won, neither of us lost. But The Chaotics need some competition at Above & Beyond VI. But, and as much as it pains me, I’ve got to give Liam and Reyes some credit for tonight. Earlier, when I spoke about the hunger and frustration that they must be feeling after this rough spell; well they showed what they’re made of tonight. They brought the fight to us, just like the Dogs of War we remember from months ago.
Peaches: An’ I ain’t gonna lie, Reyes can hit like a semi truck when he’s got a bit of speed behind him.
Peaches stretches her back, gritting her teeth as she does so.
Dan Herrera: Now that fire is lit under their asses, lets see how far they can go. But we’ll wait for Hadley’s word on the official decision before we get ahead of ourselves.
Amanda Johnson: Speaking of Hadley Herrera, she’s been the subject of some recent talk by the current FGA World Tag Team Champions, The Chaotics.
Peaches: Can’t stand to be in the same room, but they’re on the same page, huh..
She says, rolling her eyes.
Peaches: But you wanna know what we think ‘bout ’em? An’ what they’ve been sayin’ ‘bout Hadley?
Amanda just nods. Dan shakes his head, but stays quiet. That’s his half-sister they’ve been slamming in these interviews in recent weeks, and it’s probably best he doesn’t get too involved lest the calls of nepotism raise their ugly head again.
Peaches: An’ how a two-time FGA World Tag Team champion can talk ‘bout bein’ held down by management? How they’re madder than a wet hen ‘cause they didn’t get a place in the Frontier Lions Cup or the United States Title Tournament? ‘Cause Lowri Moss got to be a double champion on Vertigo, so why can’t they?
The question is purely rhetorical, though, and Peaches just shakes her head.
Peaches: All credit to Lowri for what she’s done this year. Love the girl to pieces, but just ‘cause she was able to win singles and tag gold at the same time – that don’t mean Flashpoint has to follow suit. That’s a Brandon Macdonald decision, an’ right now he’s out of a job, so maybe he ain’t always make the best decisions. But maybe that’s The Chaotics, maybe they ain’t ever gonna be happy with what they’ve got. An’ if that’s the case, then maybe we need to take those FGA World Tag Team titles from ’em, so they’re free to enter whatever tournaments they want. How does that sound?
With that, Peaches and Dan walk away from the scene, leaving Amanda alone to bring this to a close.
Amanda Johnson: That’s the Polychromatic Lion Attack Squad, getting ready for a possible shot at the FGA World Tag Team Championships. Will they get it? We’ll find out on the next Flashpoint!
