I don't want to say that the match quality wasn't good on this show. FGA's matches are always of good quality and that gets turned up to 11 for PPVs. But I got the vibe that this was a bit more of a story-driven show than one built solely off the matches. First, I want to touch on Tijerina and Stryker. I had the hunch that they were going in this direction. But I liked the way that it was slowly built up throughout the show. It felt natural to me. Tijerina was over Stryker essentially costing him the ladder match. But the more people got into his head (and the more he kept bumping into Stryker backstage), you could see his annoyance level slowly increasing. I'm interested to see what these two do next. Tijerina was in that feud with Rogers for the longest. So it's refreshing to see him with a new opponent to bounce off of. I dug the Susan Kent sitdown interview. I'm aware of her character from the 3GW days. So this was a bit of a refresher for those who are unfamiliar with the character. I wish Kent could have given a bit more in her answers. But overall, I thought it was cool. I really dug the vignettes for Quintin Castle and Liam Richardson III. They had a nice throwback vibe that you really don't see these days anymore. I hope these continue to really build up the anticipation towards their eventual debuts. A series of vignettes (or a series of interviews) is IMO the best way to debut a new charrie to a community as opposed to coming in cold. These weren't your typical run-of-the-mill backstage segs. With a roster that's this size and has this many "big names", you've gotta stand out if you're a new charrie and I felt like these two did that with this vignettes. Good job! The Karma/Izzy angle was cool. Maybe I misread it. But I could have sworn that the "outside interference = automatic title loss" stip was made weeks ago. But I might be wrong. This feud was been strong and I can't wait until Cage Match. Lmaoooo at the Yun promo. LOVED IT! In terms of the matches, I thought that Mercy looked strong in Fujiko's return match. For some strange reason, a lot of the bigger name stars from LDFC went on to make their names elsewhere (as opposed to the fed that they were supposed to be promoted to lmaooo). So it's really cool seeing Tillman having a nice run with the 15 Title, AMIRA doing her thing these past few months and now Mercy getting a high profile role right out the box with The New Murder. Fujiko didn't steamroll her in the match. I felt like Mercy came off looking very strong and how she hung in there against a former MAL/Pride Champion. Jumping back real quick to the seggies, I thought the sitdowns with NEON and Sadie San Francisco were really well done. Stephy is such a fangirl for Envi/NEON and the Sadie/Stephy interactions were . I also dug the NEON interview as well. She really sold her dislike for Sadie well here. Like the Karma/Izzy Cage match, I'm eagerly anticipating the clash between these two. PS- Ricky Valero's such a bully
