Backstage, Spencer Burke is standing by. He appears to be looking for someone. The crowd can still be clearly heard in the background, hyped up over the wild main event and subsequent return. Spencer seems to see someone approaching him, and the figure sidles up to him. The figure is that one of one Fujiko Mine. She is still wearing the black hoodie she was seen in moments earlier. Underneath that, is a modified FGA shirt. The words underneath it say “Fujiko Goddess Alpha”. She grins widely into the camera as Spencer Burke turns to her.
Spencer Burke: Ladies and gentlemen, my apparent guest at this time: Fujiko Mine.
She nods, the grin not even close to fading.
Fujiko Mine: Spencer, how’ve you been man? Keeping yourself healthy and such?
Spencer Burke: I’ve been alright, Ms. Mine...but more important is how you’ve been. The last we saw of you in FGA was when…
Fujiko raises a hand to stop Spencer’s question. Her smile finally fades into something a little tragic.
Fujiko Mine: Spence, sorry. I have to stop you. Yes, I had to step away from FGA. My mother’s health plummeted shortly after my match with Molly. Call it convenient or what-have-you, but I had to be with her. I won’t blame my loss to Molly on anything but myself. After she passed, I took some time away to get my stuff in order from a personal perspective. I wasn’t as strong as someone like Johnny Karma, who went through what he did and got back into the ring.
She pauses, trying to keep her emotions in check.
Fujiko Mine: So when I felt like I could handle being the in ring, I started back in Lion’s Road. But then, FGA officials came calling, asking me if I was up to return to the big stage. I wrapped up what I was doing, and took the first flight I could to FGA headquarters. I signed a deal, got back into the gym, and now all's right with the world!
Fujiko’s smile returns, with a side of watery eyes.
Fujiko Mine: Did you hear that amazing crowd out there? Did you hear them losing their minds?! Over me?!
She fans herself.
Fujiko Mine: It took everything in me to not burst into tears, hearing that. I’ve been gone for almost a year. I’ve been sitting on the sidelines for almost that same time. To come back and find that I was missed to that effect? It’s humbling. I’m one hundred percent grateful. I don’t care what the new murder have to say, it was worth it for that.
Spencer Burke: Well, it is nice to have you back around in FGA, Fujiko. But as if I needed to ask, why now? Why did you choose tonight to return?
Fujiko let out a little bit of a laugh, considering the question.
Fujiko Mine: Honestly? Now seemed as good as a time as any. I wanted to come back to fulfill a promise I made to myself when I lost that Pride championship. I told myself I was going to challenge Molly Reid to a rematch. So…
Fujiko turns serious and turns to the camera.
Fujiko Mine: You and me, Molly. I know I can beat you, and I’d like to prove that to you and the rest of the world. But I have to wonder…
Fujiko taps her chin, in some sense of thought.
Fujiko Mine: Now that Molly has herself a little entourage, will she be able to leave her little bird club in the back?
Fujiko shrugs.
Fujiko Mine: I dunno. I get the feeling that her new squad may feel the need to get involved, because they know that I can do exactly what I said. So Molly...think you can beat Lady Luck again? Give it a shot. Thanks, Spence. See ya around.
Fujiko winks to the camera, then strides out of frame.
Spencer Burke: There you have it folks! The woman known as Lady Luck is back in FGA!
