ENTRANCE & ATTIRE
Entrance Music:
"Bridging the Gap" by Nas ft. Olu Data
Ring Attire:
Waters is simple - black singlet with 'Night Train' on the back, along with black boots up to his knees.
Ring Entrance:
The blues infused beginning of "Bridging the Gap" kicks in as the lights come up and spotlight on Jonathan Waters, The Big Train himself, walks out to the ring, raising his arm to the cheers of the crowd as Olu Dara sings about his son. After a moment as the crowd responds, Nas begins to rap, the strobe lighting kicks in and Water slowly makes his way to the ring. Water absent mindely slaps hands and bumps a few fists, but for the most part, is focused on the ring, either on his opponent or simply staring down the ring as if it was the opponent. The rap continues and as Nas starts in on his mini black music history lesson, Waters raises his left fist to the air to the response of the crowd, as the lights finally begin to come up.
Getting in the ring, Waters lightly bounces off the ropes and does a few shadow boxing punches while either waiting for the bell or his opponent.
Championship Entrance:
CHARACTER BACKGROUND
Picbase:
Ezekiel Jackson
Gimmick:
Waters is a straight ahead hard working babyface powerhouse, who isn't afraid of getting his hands dirty, but would prefer to compete in the ring against the best in the FGA. As a former Division 1-AA Offensive Tackle, Waters had dreams of going to the pros to bring his family out of poverty, but instead, he's in wrestling.
Strengths:
1. Strong as Ox - One of the larger competitors in the company, Waters is all too willing to use that advantage, tossing around smaller competitors with ease and hitting high impact maneuvers
2. No Tape - The vast majority of Bram's career has been in small independent shows with a few hundred people in attendance or in various companies that went out of business within a show or two. For now, Water's a blank slate to any opponent, who won't know what he's capable of.
3. Tenacity - A simple submission isn't going to make Waters say 'uncle.' Now, he's not an idiot who will ruin his career so he won't be a quitter, but at the same time, as a big man, it's going to be a little tougher to KO or lock him down so he has to tap in the first place.
Weaknesses:
1. Injury - As with most football players, he has a cavalcade of injuries any smart wrestler can focus on.
2. Grappling - Bram is not a grappler. He's not a submission artist. On the mat, he's almost as useless as an 8 year old in his first judo class. Sure, he can power out of a lot of stuff, but versus a top tier talent, it's going to be really tough
3. Lack of 'Real' Experience - This is Jonathan's first time on the real big stage. Unlike much of the rest of the roster, he hasn't been a big-time star for years. So, even though he'd older than much of the roster, he's still in a bit of shock he's here.
Taunts/Mannerisms:
1. After hitting an avalanche or another big move that's going to knock somebody silly for a bit, Waters will pump his right arm, yes, like a train.
Bio:
After being born to a poor family in Mississippi, Waters grew big and strong, quickly becoming a star football player, that eventually got a scholarship to a Division 1-AA school, where he was one of the leading lights of the football team there. However, he didn't quite get the attention he needed from professional scouts and after washing out of a few practice squads and even Arena Football, Waters began to train at the Gray Training Academy in central Florida. After graduating, Waters has spent most of the last few years fighting in small independent promotions, building up experience and skill while building up a reputation for being a powerful fan favorite who will kick ass and take names.
