FGA PRIDE CHAMPIONSHIP
(c) Molly Reid vs. Chris Madison
The arena's lights dim to black as the opening guitar riffs to "War Machine" by KISS begin to screech over the P.A. system. The video screen lights up with visual static noise. Suddenly in the center of the screen a black handprint begins pulsating to the beat of the drum that has began to play. A spotlight shines on the entrance ramp and we see Chris Madison standing with his head bowed under a black towel, wearing an official FGA licensed t-shirt that says, "Always Ready For War," across the chest. He nods his head to the music and as the chorus breaks he rips the towel from his head and tosses it into the live audience, starting his way down the ramp toward, the ring.
Better watch out 'cause I'm a war machine
Better watch out 'cause I'm a war machine
J.A. Aldridge: Coming to the ring from Long Island, New York, weighing in at two hundred twenty pounds and standing six feet tall, "Mayhem" CHRIS MAAADDIISSOONN!!!"
Madison makes it to the base of the steps and places one foot down before scoping out the fans directly behind him by peering over his shoulder. He smirks as the live audience sings along to the entrance music and then marches up the steps and climbs through the ropes. He immediately leaps up onto the middle rope and faces out towards the crowd. He brings his fists up to his face and punches his jaw with each hand before shooting his arms out horizontally with his hands wide open, welcoming whatever challenge is coming his way. Madison hops backwards, bouncing off of his feet and turns towards the center of the ring, snarling and ready to go...
Kris Cruise: Chris Madison had the Pride Championship stolen from him two months ago at Grapple Kingdom. A great contest between those two, which is sure to be a Match of the Year Candidate, was a bit tainted by Molly Reid pulling his tights due to, ahem, "sweaty hands".
Stephy Auger: You, Chris Madison and Frankie Morrison can cry all you want to. But none of you had anything to say when Madison beat Reid a couple of weeks back thanks to Morrison's distraction.
Kris Cruise: That wasn't the same and you know it. It wasn't the same situation when Reid beat Dom Harter all those months ago by distraction. But what I do know is this. The score is 1-1, Stephy. They've each won a match. No matter how much you want to complain about one match or I want to complain about another, both of these competitors hold a victory over the other. This is it right here tonight. This is the decider and by looking in Madison's eyes and hearing his words, I know he's more than ready to finally capture FGA gold.
Stephy Auger: The only person that's getting that new Pride Championship belt will be the real Pride Champion, Molly Reid!
The lights in the arena dim as The Greatest by Sia begins to play over the loudspeakers in the arena. A spotlight appears on the stage as Molly Reid walks out in her wrestling gear, bouncing around with a slight smirk on her face and her Pride Championship slung over her shoulder. She stares down to the ring before smacking her title a few times and beginning to walk down the ramp.
J.A. Aldridge: And his opponent, from Los Angeles, California! She is the reigning... defending... FGA Pride Champion, MOOOOLLYYYYYY REEEEEEID!!!
Once Molly gets near the ring, she sprints, dives into the ring and jumps up, holding her title up in the air indifferent to the crowd’s reaction. Molly runs to a turnbuckle and jumps onto the second rope, posing for the crowd once more, before climbing down and moving to her corner with a smirk still on her face as she takes off her hat and sunglasses, preparing to start the match.
Kris Cruise: Molly Reid is looking to end this issue with Chris Madison once and for all tonight. But can she do it without cheating, without distractions, without controversy? I know she
can. Molly Reid is more than capable of fighting a fair fight. But with some of the things we've seen over the last few months, I don't know if she wants to.
The bell sounds as the match starts off with both grapplers trading elbow smashes until Reid gains the upperhand, which elicits a mixture of cheers and boos from the crowd. Madison shoves Reid back to create some distance between the two, but Reid comes right back to hammering away with elbow smashes.
Kris Cruise: Look at these two just nailing each other as hard as they can.
Stephy Auger: You’re not gonna see a much mat-based wrestling in this one, Cruise.
The champion continues to fires off elbows until Madison shoves her back for a second time. But again, once Reid finds her footing, she marches back over and knocks Madison back with a series of elbows. Each elbow knocks Madison closer and closer towards the corner. Once Madison is now in the corner, Reid proceeds to send him slumping down in the corner with another flurry of elbows. While Madison is in the seated position, Reid switches from elbows to kicks as she stomps away at his chest.
Kris Cruise: Reid’s stomping away at the chest of Chris Madison. She looks like she wants to stomp right through him, Stephy.
Stephy Auger: If someone was constantly calling your integrity into question, you’d be mad, too!
Reid runs across the ring into the opposite corner. But as soon as she turns around, the crowd cheers when she gets caught with a running yakuza kick out of nowhere from Madison. The cheers continue as Madison takes Reid and whips her into the opposite corner. Madison runs across the ring, but he gets knocked back by a boot to the face. After shaking off the blow, Madison charges back into the corner. This time, he gets knocked back by an elbow to the face. While Madison is dazed, Reid quickly hoists herself up onto the middle ropes before delivering a diving double knee facebreaker. The mixed reaction continues as she makes the cover.

As Madison tries to get up off the canvas, Reid runs over and connects with a front dropkick to the face, knocking him through the ropes and to the floor.
Kris Cruise: Molly Reid got all of that dropkick and sent the challenger to the floor.
Stephy Auger: I have a feeling she’s about to take it to the air, Cruise. She showed off some serious moves during the Rey del Aire tournament and I think we’re about to get another taste of that here.
While Frankie Morrison tries to give Madison some words of encouragement on the outside, Reid runs into the far ropes. When she returns, Madison pushes Morrison out of the way before Reid hurls herself through the ropes, knocking Madison back against the guardrail with a suicide dive!
Kris Cruise: Was she aiming for Frankie Morrison!?
Stephy Auger: I don’t think so. Morrison has continuously stuck his nose in their business and nearly got himself taken out by being too close to Madison.
Reid rolls back inside before running into the far ropes. When Reid returns, she leaps through the ropes and squashes Madison against the guardrail. Reid rolls back inside and runs into the far ropes. When Reid returns, the mixed reaction continues when she leaps through the ropes and squashes Reid against the guardrail a second time.
Kris Cruise: Reid continues to launch herself at Madison with dive after dive!
Stephy Auger: She’s giving it all she has, Cruise. She wants to leave no doubt at to who the better grappler is.
Reid rolls back inside and runs into the far ropes. As Madison moves away from the guardrail, Reid comes back, leaps over the top rope and knocks him down with a suicide dive. Cheers and boos erupts from the crowd.
Reid returns to her feet and puts the boots to Madison’s ribs. She then grabs onto the top of the guardrail with both hands before dropping a flurry of knees across his ribs. Reid then reaches down, picks up Madison and rolls him back inside. She then reaches back in, pulls Madison partly out across the apron and delivers a pointed elbow strike across the throat. As Madison rolls back inside, Reid climbs up onto the apron. After walking along the apron and scaling to the top turnbuckle, Reid crouches down before waving up her opponent. Once the challenger returns to his feet and turns around, Reid stands up on the top turnbuckle, leaps off and knocks him down with Get Down! (flying crossbody).

From there, Reid blasts Madison with several shoot kicks to the chest before turning and running into the ropes. When Reid returns, Madison quickly gets back to his feet before throwing her down with a back body drop. Reid arches her back in pain while Madison staggers over into the ropes.
Kris Cruise: Desperation counter there by Chris Madison.
The challenger can be seen clutching his ribs while Reid slowly returns to her feet. The champ then runs over to attack Madison. But Madison ducks and rumps Reid over the top rope. Madison makes his way towards the center of the ring after sending Reid crashing to the floor.

Stephy Auger: She’s got him now, Cruise.
The ref asks Madison if he wants to give up. When Madison refuses, Reid wraps her arms around Madison’s neck and begins tugging back to applying more pressure.
Kris Cruise: Madison’s ribs have to be killing him right now But he’s got to fight through this. The last thing he wants to do is drop a fall here and put himself down 0-1.
Madison can be seen seething in pain while Reid continues to work over the ribs. The ref asks the challenger if he wants to give up. When Madison refuses to give up, Reid nails him with pointed elbow strikes to the ribs. Morrison can be seen on the outside slapping the canvas as he tries to give Madison some words of encouragement. Reid then reaches down, grabs Madison’s left wrist and mockingly holds his hand out towards Morrison. While Reid is taunting Morrison, Madison reversal and throws Reid down with a hip toss.
Kris Cruise: Madison fought out of it!
Once Reid returns to her feet, she runs over to attack Madison, but Madison knocks her back with an elbow smash. After shaking off the blow, Reid runs back over to attack. But again, she gets stopped by another elbow smash. She then takes Reid and goes for an irish whip. But Reid reverses, sending Madison into the ropes. After the fourth elbow, Madison takes a few steps out of the corner before dropping back and catching Reid with a hotshot across the top rope.
Stephy Auger: He just dropped her throat-first across the top rope, Cruise! I don’t think there’s anything “prideful” about that!
While Reid stumbles back, Madison turns over and slowly pulls himself up using the ropes. Before he can turn around, Reid hurls herself over and nails him with a jumping knee strike to the back. After Madison collapses to the mat, Reid drags him into position before stepping over him on her way into the corner.
Kris Cruise: Molly Reid could be ready to take the first fall right here...
The champion scales to the top turnbuckle, flips back and goes for a corkscrew moonsault. But Reid rolls out of the way. The crowd explodes with cheers when Reid crashes onto the canvas.
Kris Cruise: She missed! She missed the moonsault!

Once the bell sounds to start the beginning of the second fall, Madison rushes across the ring, delivers a double leg pickup and rams Reid back-first into the corner. After a series of shoulder thrusts to the midsection, Madison takes Reid and whips her into the opposite corner. Madison runs across the ring and throws out a clothesline. But again, Reid catches him in a back elbow to the face. After hoisting herself up onto the middle ropes, Reid leaps off and goes for a diving hurricanrana. But Madison blocks the move when Reid flips back. He then hoists Reid back up and goes to counter with a turnbuckle powerbomb. Madison picks up Reid and grabs her from behind to set up another German Suplex. But Reid blocks with an elbow to the face. Reid goes to run into the far ropes. But Madison reaches out, yanks Reid back into his clutches and locks on a sleeper hold.

Cheers and boos come from the crowd as Reid tries to turn the lights out on Madison. Madison reaches up and tries to pull Reid’s arm from around his neck. But it’s to no avail as Reid has the hold locked on
tight.
Stephy Auger: Look at how hard she’s squeezing, Cruise!
Kris Cruise: Molly Reid is fighting like hell for that submission.
The crowd gasps when Reid leaps up onto Madison’s back and wraps her legs around his waist.
Stephy Auger: Now she’s really got it locked on, Cruise!
Madison tries to throw Reid off of his back, but he can’t. He then staggers around from side to side to try and grab onto one of the ropes. But he can’t.
Kris Cruise: I think… I think Chris Madison is starting to fade.
Reid nods her head once Madison movement slows down before coming to a halt.
Stephy Auger: He’s about to be out on his feet!
Reid continues to squeeze as hard as she can while Madison looks about ready to collapse at any moment. In a last ditch effort, Madison reaches out, grabs Reid by the head with both hands and drops down into a seated jawbreaker, breaking the hold and sending spittle flying out of Reid’s mouth. The crowd cheers.
Kris Cruise: What a counter by Chris Madison! He looked like he was seconds away from losing this fall.
Reid lays sprawled out motionless behind Madison while the challenger remains in a seated position. While Madison tries to regain his breath, Reid quickly sits up, grabs him from behind and pulls him down into a rear naked choke.
Stephy Auger: It’s over, Reid!
The crowd responds with a mixed reaction while Reid tries to choke out the challenger. The ref asks Madison if he wants to give up. But Madison refuses. Madison slowly turns over onto his stomach. But Reid still keeps the RNC applied.
Stephy Auger: What is he doing? He’s got nowhere to go, Cruise!
Reid continues to fight for the submission. But Madison will not tap. Instead, he slowly reaches over… and grabs the bottom rope. The crowd explodes with cheers.
Kris Cruise: It’s not over yet, Stephy!
Madison’s got his hand wrapped around the bottom rope. But Reid won’t let go! So the ref gives her until the count of five to break the hold.
Ref: ONE… TWO… THREE… FOUR…
Reid reluctantly lets go. She then returns to her feet before delivering a stomp to the back. The Pride Champ returns down, moves Madison into the corner and nails him with three hard chops to the chest. She then brings him from out of the corner before going for an irish whip. But Madison reverses, sending Reid into the ropes. When she returns, Madison sets up for another back body drop. But Reid counters with a high knee lift. While Madison stumbles back, Reid turns and runs into the ropes. When she returns, Madison throws out another running bicycle knee strike to the head. But Reid slides underneath it. After Madison lands on his feet and turns around, Reid throws out the Molly Kick (superkick). But Madison ducks underneath it. He then quickly grabs Reid from behind and goes for the Comatosed. But Reid catches him with a high knee strike to the face. While Madison is dazed, Reid turns and runs into the ropes. When she returns, she hurls herself at Madison and tackles him down with a spear!
Kris Cruise: Spear by the Pride Champion! But I don’t think she got all of it.
Stephy Auger: She may not have hit it cleanly, Cruise. But look at the pain Madison’s in! Reid might have broken a rib or two!
Madison curls up and guards his midsection while he howls in pain. Reid, meanwhile, rolls over towards the ropes. After pulling herself up, she heads back into the corner and crouches down as she awaits her opponent.
Stephy Auger: It looks like she’s setting up for another one!
Kris Cruise: You might be right!
Morrison can be seen screaming at Madison on the outside to look out for another spear. Pissed that Morrison is giving away her strategy, Reid goes over and kicks at the bottom rope, which causes Morrison to step out of the way. Kris Cruise: It’s all tied up, Stephy! It’s anyone’s match now! Madison had the chance to shut out the Pride Champion, 2-0. But after holding onto that belt for six months, Reid’s not about to give up her title!
At the bell sounds to signal the end of the mandatory rest period and the start of the third and final final, Reid charges across the ring and connects with a front dropkick, sending Madison through the ropes and onto the apron. As Madison pulls himself up using the ropes, Reid grabs him and tries for a vertical suplex back into the ring. But Madison blocks it. Reid tries for another suplex. But again, it gets blocked. After grabbing Reid, the crowd gasps, then cheers as Madison lifts her up for a vertical suplex to the outside. But Reid nails him with a knee to the head on the way up. After being lowered back down, Reid follows up with a shoulder thrust through the ropes. While Madison is doubled over, Reid turns and runs into the far ropes. Kris Cruise: What’s Reid looking at? What does she see?
The Pride Champ rolls to the outside before making her way over to the timekeeper’s table.
Kris Cruise: Why’s Molly Reid heading to the timekeeper’s table? This match isn’t over.
Morrison sees what Reid is headed for. So he rounds the ringpost and scurries over towards her. Once Reid grabs onto the Pride Champion, she goes to bring it with her into the ring. But Morrison grabs onto the other end of the belt.
Stephy Auger: There he goes sticking his nose into Molly Reid’s business again. This is between her and Chris Madison, not him!
Kris Cruise: He’s looking out for the best interest of his client.
Stephy Auger: He should be looking out for the best interest of his health. Molly Reid’s about sick and tired of him butting in.
Morrison and Reid wrestle over the belt until Reid yanks it away from him. She then slides back into the ring with the championship in hand. The ref tells her not to use it. But Reid keeps her eyes locked on Madison while moving the ref out of the way. Once a groggy Madison returns to his feet, Reid clutches the belt, ready to blast Madison in the face. But before she motions towards Reid, she stops herself. She then looks around at the crowd, who are chanting “NO!”
Reid looks down at the belt, then back to the fans. She then shakes her head before tossing the belt to the outside, garnering cheers from the crowd.
Stephy Auger: No, no, NO! What is she doing!?
Kris Cruise: Molly Reid may have gotten frustrated. She might have been pissed off with the accusations from Madison, Morrison and a portion of the FGA fans. But she isn’t going to take the easy way out, Stephy! She’s going to prove she’s better than Madison by winning this the right way!

Kris Cruise: Molly Reid has been defeated here tonight! We have a new Pride Champion and his name is Chris Madison! Finally, after all the trials and tribulations, Madison can now call himself a champion here in FGA! It’s been a long-time coming from the man from Los Island! Congratulations to the new champion!
Credit to Molly Reid, as well, for not taking the easy way out here tonight. Maybe we were in the wrong. Perhaps she was right all along. Maybe she didn’t intentionally try and cheat her way to a win in those matches against Dom Harter and Chris Madison. Perhaps we all owe Molly Reid an apology...
