We fade in from the AxxessNet and FGA logos to an opening shot of Spencer Burke, smile wide and ready for the cameras to start rolling.
Spencer Burke: Welcome ladies and gentleman to this Axxess Network exclusive! I’m your host for the evening, Spencer Burke and boy do we have a special treat for you in store tonight! As you all know we are merely days away from FGA’s major Pay Per View extravaganza, Only the Strong Survive and there is a serious buzz around this event and rightfully so ladies and gentlemen! In what should be an action packed night, full of surprises, upsets and everything else you’ve come to expect with shows of this magnitude, not only will we bear witness to not one, not two, but three title matches… but also, one of FGA’s major annual attractions, the 30 participant, Gold Rush Rumble, where the winner gets one step closer to realizing their ultimate dream and secures a shot at the FGA Undisputed Championship. Needless to say, it’s going to be an amazing night folks, and it’s definitely one that you won’t want to miss. As the past has shown us, absolutely anything can happen and any of those 30 competitors can forever engrave their names into the history books, but the major question that most people are wondering, is just exactly who will the winner of the Gold Rush Rumble go on to eventually face for the Undisputed Championship?
He smiles and nods.
Spencer Burke: And that is a question that I’m pretty sure my guest tonight will undoubtedly have an answer to.
He chuckles.
Spencer Burke: Ladies and gentlemen, at this time, I am joined by the lovely, the beautiful, the one and only, FGA UNDISPUTED CHAMPION, Saint Sexy, Cordelia Stevenson!
The camera pans back a bit now, getting Cordy into the shot. She sits with her legs crossed, the Undisputed Championship resting comfortably on her shoulder, not obstructing the view of her new “1 of 1” - None Before Me and None to Come t-shirt that will soon be available. She gives a warm smile to Spencer and acknowledges him with a nod.
Spencer Burke: Cordy, it truly is a pleasure.
He says, extending his hands and taking hold of hers, giving it a courteous shake.
Cordelia Stevenson: No, the pleasure's all mine, Spency. And maaannn if I wasn’t already hype about Only the Strong Survive, I certainly would be now after hearing you break it down like that. It’s definitely going to be a big night man. No doubts about it.
Spencer Burke: And as I said, there’s a lot of buzz around this event Cordelia. Not only around the Gold Rush Rumble, but who that winner will eventually face. Undoubtedly, all eyes will be on your match Cordelia as you and Izzy Anders square off for the Undisputed Championship.
He adjusts in his seat, leaning forward as he continues on.
Spencer Burke: Will it be you? Or will it be Izzy Anders? Who will leave the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida as the FGA Undisputed Champion?
Cordelia Stevenson: Straight to it, I see how you get down Spency.
Cordelia laughs, brushing a strand of hair from her face.
Cordelia Stevenson: But you already know what my answer is going to be, Spencer. What kind of person would I be if I said otherwise? And no that’s not me being cocky, that’s confidence. Confidence in my ability. Confidence in my preparation. Confidence in my will to win. And if you asked Izzy the same question, you already know what her answer would be. That she’d be leaving Tampa with nothing but ashes in her wake. Neither one of us are walking in there with the intention of losing, I for one damn sure know that ain’t on my agenda. I’m focused man.
This prompts Spencer to raise a brow.
Spencer Burke: Are you really?
Cordelia Stevenson: Absolutely.
Spencer Burke: Izzy seems to think you’re a bit preoccupied. Are you saying she’s wrong in thinking that?
Cordelia sighs and shifts in her seat, removing the Undisputed championship from her shoulder, and cradling it in her arm.
Cordelia Stevenson: Let me ask you a question, Spency. Let’s switch hats for a second, shall we?
Spencer casts a weary glance into her direction, noticeably shifting before giving a nod.
Spencer Burke: Um, ok. Sure.
Cordelia Stevenson: You know me pretty well for the most part, right Spencer? Or, you’re familiar with me and my journey here in FGA at least, right?
Spencer nods.
Spencer Burke: Well of course. I think your story in this company is pretty well known.
Cordelia smiles and leans in towards him, nodding.
Cordelia Stevenson: Cool. Now knowing that, knowing me, the things I’ve been through, the things I’ve had to overcome… the shortcomings, the failures, the highs and the lows, the injury, the setback… knowing ME, Spencer… and knowing all of that about me…
She places the FGA Undisputed championship on the little table between them.
Cordelia Stevenson: What do you think this means to me?
Spencer’s gaze falls upon the belt as he quietly contemplates her question. After a lingering silence, he finally utters his response.
Spencer Burke:: Everything.
Cordelia gives him the DJ Khaled ‘You’re smart’ finger point as she relaxes and settles back into her seat.
Cordelia Stevenson: Exactly. Knowing that, knowing my story and everything I’ve endured to finally reach this point, why would you or anyone else for one second think that I am focused on something else besides the most imminent threat? Because that’s exactly what Isabella Anders is, and that is what she has been for a while now. It’s what I’ve always seen her as. Truth be told, before Zero came back here and wasted everyone’s time, I thought that Izzy would be the first challenger for my title, and in a sense I guess she is. Because she deserves it. Who has been hotter than Izzy this year? No one. That’s exactly why when the beat the clock challenge was announced, I sent her a tweet telling her to beat the clock. And yes, a part of that stemmed from me wanting to see her succeed and earn a shot from a personal standpoint, but the biggest part of that stemmed from the competitor in me. I saw Izzy as the biggest potential threat, and the biggest challenge, and that was what I wanted to face. I wanted the greatest challenge. I wanted someone that I knew would bring that fire and push me. I’ve always stated that as champion I wanted to face the best, and Izzy has proven on countless occasions that she is indeed one of them. I’ve long considered her my biggest threat. So knowing that, and knowing what that title means to me, Spencer, do you realize just how insulting it is for you, her, or anyone else to insinuate that I am anything other than focused on the task at hand?
She stares directly at him, and Spencer can only blink, seemingly caught a bit off guard by her words.
Spencer Burke:: Well Cordelia, we see the back and forth between you and --
She holds up a finger to stop him and chuckles.
Cordelia Stevenson:So what? I can be Queen Petty at times, and? The back and forths I used to have with Tony Carmine proved that a long time ago. So what? People tweet and go back and forth all the damn time. I mean, I randomly hopped on because I’m not on much these days and saw some weird back and forth between she and Heather. Does that mean Izzy is preoccupied? Over the course of the past month, I think she’s mentioned Chandler more than I have; she’s over there setting up her dream match with him… possibly for the Undisputed title…
Cordelia recalls the exchange of tweets between Izzy and Chandler on her timeline and simply shrugs..
Cordelia Stevenson: But I’m preoccupied, yet she’s the one running around and participating in a trios tournament, putting her body at risk before the biggest matchup of her career.
Cordy hits Spencer with a ‘C’mon Man’ face.
Cordelia Stevenson: But not once have I heard you or anyone else question her. But I guess I’m preoccupied because I’m not dragging Izzy’s name through the mud every chance I get, is that what it is? If that’s what it is then just say that. I have no animosity towards Izzy. I’m not going to pretend that I do. This isn’t Zero and I where the bad blood had been there and brewing for years. This isn’t that and I’m not going to approach it as if it is. In no way, shape or form does that mean I take her any less seriously or that I’m overlooking her by any means. I know that she wants what I have, and I know that I can’t allow her to have it. It’s as simple as that. I respect her. I respect her a hell of a lot actually, and our match at Only The Strong Survive? There’s not a doubt in my mind that it will be a Match of the Year candidate. You know that title means everything to me, Spencer and you know that she’s trying to take it away. What other reason do I need to fight like hell to keep it? But that’s the world that we live in. People hear one thing and they just run with it, logic be damned.Never mind the facts. Izzy says I’m preoccupied and all of a sudden that’s the story. That’s what it is. People gobble it up not realizing it fits her narrative perfectly. Not realizing that that’s her whole schtick.
Spencer Burke:: Her whole schtick?
Cordy nods.
Cordelia Stevenson: Yeah. Being the forgotten; the unseen; the overlooked, despite her being very visible on everyone’s radar from the moment she set foot into the company. Hell, she’s launched an entire crusade against the company based around the same concept, but I guess it’s whatever that makes her tick. I’m not about all the unnecessary theatrics. Her whole, please pretend that he doesn’t exist thing? Typical. Classic drama queen Isabella Anders if I must say so myself. Maybe she needs the motivation. Maybe believing that I’m overlooking her or my attention is elsewhere gives her some mental push or fuel to try harder.
Cordelia shifts her body, turning her attention away from Spencer and glaring directly into the cameras.
Cordelia Stevenson: But I see you, Izzy. The self proclaimed wallflower standing dead in the middle of the dance floor. It’s hard not to notice you. You’re not invisible. You’re not forgotten. You’re marked. Spin it however you want to chica, send your tweets, beg me to forget that Chandler exists… but just know that he isn’t the one I’ve been preparing for for the past two months. He isn’t the one I’ve been studying endlessly. He isn’t the one stepping into the ring with me in Tampa, and he damn sure isn’t the one that will be getting kicked in the goddamn face. You see, I know damn well who I’m stepping into the ring against, chica. I’m not preoccupied at all. But after Saturday night? You’re going to wish I truly had been.
After speaking her piece, she rests back in the chair and looks at Spencer.
Spencer Burke:: Wow, needless to say you’re pretty fired up.
Cordelia Stevenson:No need to say it at all man. I been ready for this. I don’t think people truly understand just how ready for this I am. In my mind, Saturday marks the true beginning of my reign as champion. And I know that’s weird to hear considering I’ve been champion since what, November? But to me, it always felt as if I started off behind the 8-ball so to speak. The circumstances in which the FGA Championship became vacated with Zero walking out and that whole entire fiasco. I won the Lethal Lottery joint, but you saw how it was Spencer. As hard as I fought, people still wanted to take it away from me man. They still didn’t want me to have my moment. And then Zero came back, and with FGA making the decision that they did, they made me feel like I was nothing more than an interim champion and I hated that feeling. I hated it so much because I worked so damn hard to get where I am, and that is what they painted me as. But I shook that stigma, and for the first time I actually feel as if I’m settling into my throne so to speak. From the moment I won the FGA championship, I felt as if I had to defend being champion, not my championship. But now, on Saturday… for the first time since winning this title, I feel like a champion truly defending what is hers, and I can’t freakin wait. I’m just ready to leave a lasting mark. And I know it begins on Saturday with Izzy. My time as champion can’t be over, Spencer. Truthfully, I’m just getting started. That’s just how I feel.
Spencer Burke:: Now, since you’ve cleared the air and we know that you’re focused on your match…
His voice trails off as both of them laugh.
Spencer Burke:: … the Gold Rush Rumble. You’re no stranger to it, Cordy. As a matter of fact, in 2015 you were the last woman standing in that ring.
Cordelia Stevenson: Facts.
Spencer Burke:: If you happen to make it past Izzy… you’ve got the winner of the rumble awaiting you. Now let’s just say that you do happen to defeat Izzy at Only the Strong Survive; is there anyone in particular that you’d like to face?
Spencer tries to keep a straight face, but there is something about his smile that seems a bit mischievous and Cordelia catches it.
Cordelia Stevenson: Maaannn, you not low Spency. I see exactly what you’re doing.
She laughs.
Cordelia Stevenson: But truthfully, that’s a tough question.
Spencer hears that and looks as if he’s about to jump on that opening but Cordelia holds up a finger once again to say she’s not done.
Cordelia Stevenson: I say that because, as a fan of the business, there are some people that I would love to see have their moment, you know? Like… Dan.
Spencer Burke:: Dan Herrera, your tag team partner?
Cordy nods.
Cordelia Stevenson: Absolutely. He’s come so close on so many occasions, especially in the Gold Rush Rumble! I would love to see him finally get over the hump and bring one home. Like, I personally think that would be amazing.
Spencer strokes his chin. It appears to be an idea he hadn’t thought of before.
Spencer Burke:: The members of Status Quo squaring off for the Undisputed Championship. And another rematch from the tournament that crowned you FGA Champion.
Cordelia Stevenson: Yeaahhh, it would be crazy honestly. But see, then another part of me wants to see someone new win it all, y’know? A fresh face to the Undisputed title scene. That thought alone excites me. That’s why I was so excited when Izzy won that beat the clock challenge. I love when new people step up to the plate, and the Gold Rush Rumble? That can make someone’s career Spencer. It can truly be the opportunity of a lifetime for someone.
Spencer Burke:: So when you say fresh faces…
Cordelia Stevenson: You want some examples? Chris Madison. Not a fresh face to the business by a long shot, but the man is extremely talented. I still flinch when I think about how brutal the match Cyn and I had against he and Tommy Knox a couple of years back. Umm, Evan Envi. He’s crazy as all hell, but you can’t deny what he’s capable of. Molly Reid, a phenomenal Pride Champion, I could go on and on to be honest with you. That’s one of the things that I’ve always loved about FGA. No matter where you turn, you’re surrounded by talent. And as I said, I’m always looking for a challenge. If I happen to get by Izzy, I just hope whoever it is, brings it. Cause I’ll be ready and I’ll be waiting.
Spencer Burke:: So you have no preference as to who you want to win?
Cordelia shakes her head. She can tell that he’s still fishing for something.
Cordelia Stevenson: None at all honestly.
Spencer Burke:: That’s… surprising. So give us a prediction.
Cordelia Stevenson: What do you want, the winner?
Spencer thinks for a second.
Spencer Burke:: Ummm, final four.
Cordy sighs and gives it some serious thought.
Cordelia Stevenson: Ok, Dan. He always does well in the rumble. Evan Envi. Johnny Karma.
She goes quiet for a moment, thinking of other competitors in the rumble.
Cordelia Stevenson: I’m kind of torn on that final spot. I really really want to say Molly, but I think she and Madison are going to wear each other out earlier in the night. So I’m going to say…
She raises her eyes to meet Spencer’s.
Cordelia Stevenson: Chandler Scott.
Spencer’s eyes seemingly light up now.
Spencer Burke:: So who wins. Who is the person left standing at the end of the night? And you have to give an answer.
Cordelia Stevenson: Who wins?
She repeats, hissing a bit through her teeth.
Cordelia Stevenson: That’s a tough one, but I’m going to say Johnny Karma.
Spencer Burke:: Whoa, big pick there.
Cordelia Stevenson: It is. But truthfully, I think he’s kind of the silent assassin going into this. Not really quiet. We all saw how much damn noise he made during that tag main event about a month back.
She rolls her eyes and shakes her head, but laughs.
Cordelia Stevenson: But I think he has the right momentum going into this thing. And I spoke earlier of people finally having their moments. Well… I guess that can apply to him as well.
Spencer Burke:: Cordelia, once again, thank you for taking the time to be here tonight and good luck in your match against Izzy Anders.
Cordelia Stevenson: Nah, the pleasure was truly all mine Spence. And thank you. OTSS is going to be special, and hopefully I give you all something to remember. Cordy Stevenson - Izzy Anders II. We’ve gotten a little familiar with each other, so the second time is going to be even better than the first.
She says rather suggestively and turns towards the camera with a wink.
Cordelia Stevenson: Don’t miss it.
Spencer Burke:: Once again, the FGA Undisputed champion ladies and gentlemen. Catch her in action as she defends her title against Izzy Anders. Just one of many amazing matches that awaits you this Saturday, live on Pay Per View! And that’ll do it for this special Axxess network exclusive. I’m Spencer Burke, and I’ll see you Saturday night. Goodnight ladies and gentlemen!
