Spencer Burke: Hello everyone. This is Spencer Burke here with your latest Only the Strong Survive Report, right here on AxxessNet!
Spencer Burke: We are a little under two weeks away from the latest pay per view offering from FGA. Only the Strong Survive will take place live from the nearly sold out Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida on April 15. Some tickets are still available. But if you can't make it down to beautiful Tampa, Florida, the only way you can catch this event is on pay per view. It's one of the most exciting nights in all of sports. It's one of the most exciting nights in FGA. Why? Because we're talking about the Gold Rush Rumble. 30 of FGA's latest and greatest will do battle in the night's main event. The winner? Well he, or she, will go on to All-Star Showdown VI in sunny Las Angeles, California to face the FGA Undisputed Champion. Let's get to that Rumble rundown!
Spencer Burke: Recently announced are the latest entrants, your new FGA World Tag Team Champions, Elon and Emery Elysian: The Elysian Empire!
Also recently added are a team that is right on their heels. I'm talking about Peaches and her tag team partner, Dan Herrera! You know, "The Boss" has been a runner up on two separate occasions in the Gold Rush Rumble. Herrera obviously has his sights set on regaining Tag Team Championship gold. Him and Peaches have been up and down the road winning Tag Titles elsewhere. He'd love to have that same level of success with Peaches. With that being said, there has to be apart of Herrera who wants to stop being the bridesmaid. Will 2017 be the night that Dan Herrera goes from runner up to winner? We're gonna find out in less than two weeks. Continuing on!
We've got the #1 contender to the Mid-Atlantic Legacy Championship, AMIRA! In AMIRA's mind the Mid-Atlantic Legacy Championship will become the Magnificent AMIRA Legacy Championship if she were able to win it in two weeks. But could the Amalie Arena become the AMIRA Arena if she wins the Gold Rush Rumble? Only time will tell.
Also in the Rumble is Lowri Moss, who got cheated out of a Battle Royal by being sneak attacked from behind by AMIRA! Now AMIRA will randomly choose between numbers 20 and 30 while Moss? Unfortunately, the fresh faced newcomer will not be so lucky, having to randomly draw between numbers one and nineteen. Best of luck, Lowri!
Also in the Gold Rush Rumble are the members of Camp Envi, "The Chief" Evan Envi, "The Pope" Sadie San Francisco and "The Queen of Mean" NEON! The Gold Rush Rumble is every man for himself. But there is a big advantage to having strength in numbers, as was displayed throughout all of last year when The Royal Court ruled with an iron fist. Will Camp Envi rule the Rumble? We'll find out on the 15th!
Speaking of strength in numbers, it appears that Ricky Valero now has some backup in the form of those two men that attacked Owen Gonsalves! Will these two individuals help Valero advance and win the Rumble? We'll find out in two weeks like on pay per view. But if the "Battle Hardened Vet" Chris Bond has his way, then Valero's destiny is to be thrown over the top rope and to the floor. Bond isn't the only an looking to punch the face of "Pretty" Ricky. So is Gonsalves, who will also be in the Rumble and will no doubt be targeting his former mentor.
Also in the Rumble we have Daniel Widdel and Stunray! To the surprise of very few, there tag team match at this past Vertigo didn't go smoothly. But what did surprise some was Stunray, who looked like he was trying to put their past issues to the side for the sake of the team. All these weeks later and we are still in the dark about what happened between these two in the past. But I think I speak for everyone when I say that I am as intrigued as ever.
Speaking of "pretty", The Spanish Sweetheart, the Venomous Virtuosos himself, Julian Tijerina, is in the Gold Rush Rumble! Who else? Blake Rogers! The feud between these two took another turn when Tijerina was on the receiving end of an attack before the start of last Saturday's Vertigo. It looked like Tijerina was roughed up so badly that he wouldn't be able to compete in the Battle Royal. But as the only saying goes, you can't keep a good man down and Tijerina did not stay down. In fact, he came down to the ring, eliminated Rogers and then eliminated himself! That's how much he wanted to go after Rogers. He was willing to sacrifice a potentially advantageous spot in the Rumble in order to get even with Rogers. Incredible. I just hope it doesn't come back to haunt him.
Who else is in the Rumble? How about Yazzmin Villa, who looked to be a bit shaken up after being tossed out of the Battle Royal by Blake Rogers! Mark Storm, who looked impressive in his FGA return against Chris Madison! Speaking of which, we have the #1 contender to the Pride Championship, Chris Madison! Of course, we have Pride Champion Molly Reid, who has already made her prediction as to who the last four in the Rumble will be! Spoilers: she think she'll be one of the four. I love that confidence, Molly! Got get 'em!
Continuing on! We've also got Brian Stryker! Noelle Smith! Then there's this man, Chandler Scott!
(Chandler Scott stands by in front of an FGA backdrop for this pre-taped promo)
Chandler Scott: As we flip our calendars from March to April, that must mean one thing. Rumble Season is upon us. On April 15, 30 of FGA’s best will enter that ring with those hopes of winning the Rumble and going on to headline All-Star Showdown VI. The whole world will be watching foes screw over foes and friends stabbing each other in the back for their chance at Gold. But more importantly, Cordy Stevenson and Izzy Anders will be watching. One of them will be defending their championship against one of those 30 hopefuls. And I’m sure that they have their favorites. I’m positive that they have X number of people that they're rooting for. If you’re Izzy, maybe you’re rooting for the likes of a Noelle Smith or a Molly Reid, two people that you really don’t care for. But beating them on the grandest stage would be too sweet of an opportunity to pass up. Maybe she’s rooting for a Dom Harter. Last year, he came back from injury and beat her down in one of the best matches on that show. You think that doesn’t bother her? Not only did he come back from an injury that she caused, but he came back and has succeeded. You think that doesn’t eat away at her? The fact that she could have rid the world of Dom Harter, but didn't? If the both of them win on April 15, this would give Izzy the chance to put The Tenacious Little Bastard down, once and for all.
If you’re Cordy Stevenson, maybe you’re footing for a Jimmy Page to win it all. Sure, it would be hard rooting for a subhuman piece of sh*t like him. But if that World Title loss from all of those years back is still eating away at you, then what better way to avenge than by beating him at All-Star Showdown VI. Or speaking of avenging losses, she might be pulling for Dominic. I’m sure that him constantly reminding her that he was the last person that defeated her one on one has started to grate at her. What better way to shut him up than by beating him when the spotlight shines the brightest?
But regardless of who they’re picking and regardless of who you, the viewers, might one to win, there is only one man that’s walking out of the Gold Rush Rumble with his hand raised, and that’s yours truly. Now I know what you’re all saying to yourself. “Chandler, you’re good. Hell, you’re great! You’re one of the best! But this is the Gold Rush Rumble we’re talking about here! You’ve never been been in a Rumble before! So why on Earth do you think you have a chance in Hell of minute.” Fair enough. And you’re right. I’ve never been in a Rumble before. But you want to know what else? Before last year, I had never competed in a Frontier Lions Cup, either. Yet the last time I checked, I was the one that went through three men in one night to win said Cup. Don’t let my inexperience in a match like this distract you from the fact that I have all of the tools to be victorious. On April 15, LIVE in Tampa, Florida… every head will bow and every tongue will confess that not only does Chandler Reign Supreme, but that Chandler was the strongest… to survive.
(The feed switches back to Spencer Burke)
Spencer Burke: Interesting take from Chandler Scott.
Also in the Rumble, we've got Savannah Taylor, who came so close to defeating Dom Harter a few days ago on Vertigo!
A Mystery Entrant!
The FGA return of "Big" John Blade!
The Interstellar Princess, Mistress Ai, who will be reaching for the stars as she tries to get one of the biggest wins of her storied career on April 15!
Also in the Rumble will be the infamous Jimmy Page, who was targeted by everyone and eliminated first in the Battle Royal this past weekend! Will we see a repeat of that scene in the Rumble? I wouldn't be surprised.
We've also got the self-proclaimed Battle Royal God himself, Johnny Karma! Karma has to be riding high off of that huge victory over Chandler Scott this past weekend. You can bet that Karma is looking to ride that wave up momentum right into the Rumble.
Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't talk about this man, Dom Harter, the man who's name is arguably synonymous with this match! The Tenacious Little Bastard is a two-time winner and could very well win number three here on April 15. Experience is on his side. The luck of the draw has seemingly been on his side as well. Is this the night when Dom Harter becomes a three-time, three-time, three-time Rumble winner? You're gonna have to tune in live on pay per view to find that out.
But that's not all! Yeah, the Gold Rush Rumble is the main event. It is the most exciting 60 minutes in all of wrestling. But we've got a tremendous lineup of action for you in addition to the main event. Let's get to the rundown!
JUST ANNOUNCED over the weekend, it'll be Noelle Smith and Brian Stryker going up against Camp Envi's Sadie San Francisco and NEON in Tag! Team! ACTION! Noelle Smith is well acquainted with the opposition, especially the Queen of Mean, who she tattooed with that bedazzled kendo stick just a few weeks ago. You go, Noelle! Then there's Brian Stryker, who came within a hair of defeating "The Pope" back in February at Grapple Kingdom. Now these two will be looking to gain yet another measure of revenge against Envi's crew. But what about Camp Envi? Can these two even coexist? Yes, they did work together to eliminate several people in the Battle Royal. But, let's not forget the fact that it was NEON who grabbed an unsuspecting Sadie San Francisco from behind and tossed her over the top rope. Will "The Pope" be a forgiving Pope? Stay tuned!
(a graphic for the Mid-Atlantic Legacy Champion match is show)
In our first of three title matches of the evening, the Mid-Atlantic Legacy Championship is on the line when Dom Harter goes one on one with the eccentric AMIRA. Unfortunately for her, this isn't the Volcano Match that she lobbied for. But it's a big match nonetheless. AMIRA continues to keep that undefeated streak in tact as she won the Battle Royal last Saturday. She is sneaky. She is deceiving. She is duplicitous. But we've also heard Dom Harter be described in a similar sense. Harter is one of the craftiest grapplers I've ever seen. He might be a Tenacious Little Bastard. But he's a cunning one, as well. Harter is looking for his first successful championship defense with the belt while AMIRA is looking to rain all over his parade. Can the GRAAAAAND SLAAAAAM winner be victories again?
(a graphic for the Pride Champion match is show)
Then, in our second of three title matches, Pride Champion Molly Reid defends against a man that has quickly become her nemesis, "Mayhem" Chris Madison. The story between these two took another turn when Molly Reid shoved Frankie Morrison down to the floor. Morrison already got caught with a Molly Kick by accident. But this was no accident! With that being said, it was not Reid's intention to hurt Morrison. But that is what happened when Madison's friend and manager smacked the back of his head against the hard concrete floor. Madison nearly came out and got his hands on Reid during her match with Noelle Smith. Madison ended up being nabbed by security. But in less than two weeks at Only the Strong Survive, there will be no one to hold these two back from tearing into each other. I can't wait!
(a graphic for the Undisputed Champion match is shown)
Then, in arguably the biggest match of the evening, it will be Cordy Stevenson defending her FGA Undisputed Championship against "The Mindkiller"Izzy Anders. When you take into account what Cordy Stevenson went through not just to win the FGA World Championship but to ultimately become the Undisputed Champion... then, when you juxtapose that with the mission statement of Izzy Anders since her return to FGA, what you have is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, title match in the history of FGA. This isn't about a balance of power. This is about the future of this very company. One grappler wants to continue to carry the torch and lead FGA. The other? Well she wants to take that same torch and set the entire company abalze. Let's take you back to this past Saturday's Vertigo for one of the most heated confrontations I've seen in all my years. Take a look.
Cordelia smirks now as the crowd gives an agreeing pop.
Cordelia Stevenson: You see Izzy, they never forgot about me. And truth be told, they never forgot about you either, but you’re so jaded, so blinded by the rage you feel inside that you’re projecting the disdain that you feel for a select few… onto everyone. They’re the best part of this company Izzy. They’re what keeps this company afloat. They’re the ones that have rocked with me since day one and they’re the ones that I fight for. They’re why I can’t let you burn this company down, Izzy. Because I know what it means to them, and they mean the world… to me. They may not agree with everything I say. They may not like everything I do or every decision I make. But they’re there. And they’re there because they care. I always said that me winning this title was just as much for them as it was for me, because they were with me every single step of the way and I meant that. This place isn’t perfect Isabella. Not by a longshot, but then again, no place is. But you know what?
She motions at the crowd again as she takes another step towards Isabella, getting right up in her face.
Cordelia Stevenson: They make it home.
She points her finger and jabs Izzy in the chest, which Izzy subtly responds to by whipping her chest off.
Cordelia Stevenson: And I’m not going to let you destroy my home. You say this is all I got? You say it like it’s a bad thing, Izzy. If anything, that should let you know just how willing I’d be to whip your ass to keep it.
The crowd lets out a loud schoolyard “ohhhhhhh” as Cordy lowers her mic and glares at the contender for her title. Izzy starts to laugh derisively, almost doubling over in her laughter. She then turns back on Cordy, anger finally breaking her colder visage. She brings the microphone to her lips once more.
Izzy Anders: Izzy Anders is not disposable! Don’t you ever, and I mean ever, in your life say that to me again? I almost decided to take your freakin’ head off for even thinking that kind of crap. Because you might have convinced yourself that you are, but nah, not me.
She yells at, deeply infuriated.
Izzy Anders: The business might want to think that. The people all around us might want that to be the case, but if you think for a second that I’m going to allow myself to be disposable. If I’m disposable, I might as well leave now, but I’m not. I was planning on going through you, because I want that there.
She points to the FGA Undisputed Championship.
Izzy Anders: I was planning on it, because you were FGA’s last hero, but okay, I see you wanted to piss me off for whatever reason. So, now, you’re due for an official ass beating. I’m going to take this belt from you and I’m going to make you realize that fighting for a false cause, fighting for these two-faced hypocrites ain’t worth a damn either. When I win, I’ll force you to wake up to the grim reality that it sucks to be the cog in the wheel. You’re better than that, Cordy, but I guess I’ll have to give you the tough love that you so need and that I’m so willing to give to you.
She pauses, a mixed reaction, the crowd split between Izzy’s words and her advancing step to be nose-to-nose with the champion.
Izzy Anders: I love you to death, girl, but you need to stop sounding like an idiot. It just makes me want to beat your ass right here...right now.
The crowd starts to rile up, wanting the two to start throwing blows, but the two remain in the ring, staring each other down.
Cordelia Stevenson: All this tough talk, chica. Dom Harter proved a long time ago that you ain’t built like that mama. But somebody is feeling the vibe right now I guess. You want to beat my ass? Right here? Right now?
Cordelia questions, the crowd loving the idea of seeing these two go at it. Cordy’s eyes narrow into slits as her nostrils flare.
Cordelia Stevenson: Do it.
Cordelia challenges, dropping her mic to the mat as the crowd now rises to its feet in anticipation of the fists seemingly about to fly at any moment. The two stand there for a moment, the crowd eating up each second between them. Izzy stands there, her eyes full of rage, but then...she smirks. She pats Cordy on the shoulder a few times before taking a step back from the staredown.
Izzy Anders: That Izzy died a long time ago. You’ll have to wait, just like everyone else, until Only the Strong Survive.
Izzy kindly puts the microphone in Cordy’s hands before exiting the ring. The crowd pans her while she does, irritated by her sudden tranquil demeanor. Cordelia watches as she exits, a smirk creeping onto her face as she just shakes her head. The two continue the staredown and mouthing off at one another until the scene finally fades out.
(The feed switches back to Spencer Burke)
Spencer Burke: This match means everything to both of these competitors. But for very different reasons. I cannot wait to see this matchup. Whoever wins, I just hope that there still is an FGA when it's all said and done because if Izzy Anders does what she's vowed to do...
(Spencer shakes his head)
Spencer Burke: You do not want to miss this night! Again, if you're in the area or if you can make the trip, there are some tickets still available. If not, the only way you can watch your favorites will be live on pay per view on Saturday, April 15. This is Spencer Burke signing off for now. We'll see you in two weeks at Only the Strong Survive!
