Macy is sitting on a park bench. Watching as people are walking by waiting for the ring time to start things off. She sees that things are about to clear up and nods at the cameraman.
Macy Dover: Start it up.
Macy watches as the camera light turns red and the camera fidgets around with the cameraman unsure if it’s working. The camera then faces the sky as what appears to be a homeless man’s beard takes up the screen. Macy runs over and snatches the camera from him.
Macy Dover: Can’t fucking hire good help, even if they need the money… Gotta do everything my damn self.
Macy holds the camera out at arm's length as she walks down the streets of the Gaslamp District of San Diego.
Macy Dover: It’s me again. Macy Dover. Fresh on eves of Showdown in the Sun, I figured it’s time to let everyone know my thoughts going in.
Macy gets a looks from a few passersby in business suits as she shoots them an angry face and they look away.
Macy Dover: I’m here in my own city. And you just got a prime example of the point I was going to make down here. You see, I’m not dressed to the nines. I’m not holding a briefcase. I’m not even a working stiff. So when I show up downtown, I get looks. Looks that say I don’t belong here. Looks that say, I should find somewhere to be where I’m more welcome. Looks that tell me to stay away.
A woman walking and holding onto her smart phone bumps shoulders with Macy. Macy turns shoving her to the side where she almost falls over. She looks up in disgust before going right back to her phone and continuing to walk.
Macy Dover: It gets so bad sometimes that people don’t even realize I’m there. As if I’m invisible to them in their little world. But it doesn’t take people very long to realize that no matter what they want or think about me. If I’m there, I belong there. I go where I want and do what I want. And no one will stop me from being where I belong. I was born in this city, and no one will ever push me out. This is my home.
When I announced I was coming to 3GW, the same thing happened. Everyone from all around the country came flocking in to claim throne in MY state. And week after week I’m told I don’t belong there or that I’m not good enough to be at the top of 3GW. Well however you want to slice it, 3GW is home. And I’m not going anywhere for anyone. I’m taking what I want, and no one is going to tell me otherwise.
Macy continues to hold the camera out ahead of her as people walk by confused what she’s doing.
Macy Dover: Ashley, I warned you to stay away. Now, by my hand, I will have to accomplish what I warned you might happen should you come here. The embarassment of the proud RISE champion. You didn’t get it done in HKW. You didn’t get it done in AIR. It took you going to RISE to actually accomplish something. Why would you spread out of your place of comfort and success to be humbled once again? You must like to lose. Well don’t worry, I’m happy to oblige.
Susan Kent, every one of us has beaten you. You are walking to that ring thinking, no hoping that you have it in you this time to get the job done. Let me put your mind in a spot where it should be. You don’t. You weren’t good enough before and you certainly aren’t now. Just don’t let yourself get pinned early on in the match and make yourself look worse.
Gabi Beltran, you’re the one person I see in this match with the inkling to get the job done and move on. You’ve been on quite the roll lately. And knocking your run off the tracks will not be an easy task, but everyone loves a train wreck. You already know I feel like I’m the one to beat here and you’re the only one with the chance to knock the smirk off my face. You have it in you to end it? Prove it.
But once you three fail to do it, I don’t want to hear anything about slumps or big talk or anything like that about me coming out of your mouths. You’ll just embarrass yourself further. See you Saturday.
Macy continues walking as she reaches down and shuts off the camera.
