“Once upon the times,” the feed goes live and the unsteady hand of El Grandé Malo holds the iPhone not quite far enough away. The image that greets the viewer is made up primarily of his ginger beard and black and red mask.
“I enjoyed doing what I is doing for the peoples of Frontier. Malo,” he smiles, “he is joining and training to become to full time Frontier wrestler; to take after the chico who is giving him his first opportunity – Señor Chris Bond.
But Malo, he is not joining Frontier’s main roster of peoples no matter how hard he is working. I is finding myself competing in the Lion Dens month after the month until,” he shrugs, “until one day I is getting the email that say Lion Den is no more and I is needed in California.”
A small sigh escapes him as he places the phone down and leans back. “This was not what Malo wanted to do, but I is not willing to give up on mi dream because of the road bumps. So, I goes to California and what is Malo finding?”
He pauses for a heartbeat, a coy smile on his face, “I is finding that absolutely nothing is changing. The faces, si, the faces they change – but the politics, they do not.
To say that Malo has been largely unsuccessful since joining TresGW would be the understatements. Not only has Malo been ineffective, but I is also dragging down mi amigo, and partner, Pedro. You see,” he continues, “Pedro, he does not deserve this; he has gone out of his way to try and help Malo keep going, to stay positive, to remember why we is bringing the Bueno Club across the country … but Malo, he has failed Pedro.
Time after the time, Malo has failed Pedro.
Match after match, Malo has failed Pedro.
Mi amigo, he is capable of so many things. Pedro, he could be el champón already if he was not saddled with Malo – but Pedro, he never says these things.
Pedro, he is the muy bueno chico y Malo, he is lucky to have the partner like him.”
Malo leans forward, slapping his hand onto the table and jostling the phone.
“This is why Malo, he is saying NO MORE!
I is not knowing how, Pedro y Malo is getting this title shot again, but it is time that the Bueno Club, they is making the most out of it!
Malo, he is tired of always coming in second place – so he is pulling on his big boy pants and telling Los Gold Star Connectión to be bringing it!”
Leaning back once more, Malo reaches up and tugs at his mask absentmindedly. “For many of the weeks now, the Malo that the peoples of TresGW has been seeing in their ring was not the chico standing,” he looks down at himself, “ … sitting in front of you.”
He shakes his head, “What Malo is meaning is that the Malo that has all but wasted your times with the lack luster matches and poor performings; this is not the Malo that I know I is able to be.
That chico, he did not deserve to stand in the ring beside his amigo, Pedro –”
Malo snorts, shaking his head, “I is not even sure that I is deserving to be getting this opportunity. Truth being told, Pedro, he is the one who has been fighting tooth and nails for this; I has just been on the cruise control and aiming for the Grandé Cañon.
Tres” he sighs, “I is having to be honest, here peoples, Tres has just not been given the focus in Malo’s life.
It isn’t fair to Tres, y it is not fair to mi partner, Pedro.
But,” he shrugs, “because Malo is finding such success elsewhere, mi failures here only made Malo that much less likely to give Tres, Pedro, and all of the peoples his best.
But this, it HAS to change!” he says, drilling his index finger into the table.
“This is not about titles, this is not about Señor Gold and Señoritta Star …” he pauses for a heartbeat, “well, okay, so it is partially about them – but for the mainly, this,” he taps his finger into the table once more, “this is about El Grandé Malo standing beside Pedro Gonzalez; uniting as the Bueno Club has not in far too long.
Peoples of TresGW, consider yourselves put on the notice …
The happy, go-lucky boys in black are gone; enjoy dealing with the pissed off Pedro y a hyper focused Malo.
I is almost feeling sorry for you all –” Malo leans forwards one final time, lifting the camera and smirking into it before cutting the feed.
“Olé!”
