The camera opens up to the sight of Izzy Anders and Savannah Taylor backstage. They both wear matching golden outfits, accented with a contrasting black shade. Izzy’s eyepatch is outfitted with a golden cross, reflective of the origin of their tag team name. Izzy stands with a smirk on her face, while Savannah counterbalances with a determined outlook. Izzy turns her head to Savannah with a beaming grin.
Izzy Anders: Hey, Savannah?
Savannah Taylor: Yeah, Izzy?
Izzy Anders: Did we just become best friends?
Izzy questioned her tag team partner with a glee in her voice that only grade schoolers harnessed. She eyed her partner, begging for the right reply. Savannah looks upon Izzy’s eager face and smiles to herself, slowly nodding her head
Savannah Taylor: I think we just did, or something like that.
Izzy Anders: Well, you know what best friends do, Savannah?
Savannah Taylor: What would that be?
She says as she tilts her head to the side.
Izzy Anders: Best friends win tag team matches. Best friends take down the Pride Champion and her contender. Best friends continue to be undefeated this year in FGA. That is what best friends do.
She pauses.
Izzy Anders: I mean, even if we weren’t friends and tag team partners, we would probably win. You want to know why?
Another inquisitive and expectant gaze from the Mindkilla. The Las Vegas native taps her chin with her index finger a couple of times before pointing said finger in Izzy’s direction.
Savannah Taylor: Well, I was going to say that even if we WEREN’T best friends, we’d win because we’d at least get along enough and trust each other enough to get the job done. On our own we’re both good, but put us together and we perform some Wonder Twins type magic.
She looks over at Izzy.
Savannah Taylor: Am I in the right ballpark at least?
Izzy laughs lightly.
Izzy Anders: Yeah, yeah, right ballpark, all that jazz. Regardless of that, I think Mollywood and Maddy over there understand the situation they are in. It is a battle of egos and skill this weekend. However, they fail to realize that they are not the main players in this match. Hell, they are not even going to be trying to be that. They know that this match is a trap waiting to happen. And I don’t mean that because of their “incredible” dynamic.
She turns to the camera.
Izzy Anders: I am talking in regards to what Savannah and I want. Usually, these matches get better stirring because of what may happen to the team of the champion and her gutsy challenger. That is for the birds, I tell ya. I am saying that Savannah and I want to stake our claim to the Pride Championship. I have my reasons. She has hers, but we got a lot of reasons why we are worthy contenders, more so than Chris Madison already.
A beat.
Izzy Anders: I guess I ought to talk about myself, since Savannah is perfectly capable of speaking on her own terms. Let us see here. I beat Noelle, Dan, and most recently, Chris Bond. I think that line of straight, clean wins, might get me a nod by the champion herself. I am hitting a stride that is not going to stop. And it is not going to stop because of some petty drama that doesn’t even concern me. And Savannah is on my side with the same amount of fire going through her. She just beat down Johnny Karma not too long ago.
Savannah places her hands on her hips as she turns her attention to the camera.
Savannah Taylor: A few weeks ago, I told everyone that two thousand seventeen was going to be a rebuilding year. I told people that week after week, match after match, I was going to get people talking about me once more. I’ve done a damn good job of doing just that. I made it clear back at Final Frontier that my end goal was to get back into Pride title contention. I mean, let’s face the facts here. Myself and Izzy are more deserving of getting into title talks over just about anyone, Chris Madison included. I don’t care how it happens or who we have to go through to get it, but the two of us….
She waves her thumb between herself and Izzy.
Savannah Taylor: …..we WILL get a chance at Good Golly Miss Molly before long. Mark my words. I don’t care if it’s Chris Madison, Johnny Karma or even Chris Bond himself….we will get what we want.
Izzy Anders: And if not, don’t worry, we’ll make sure that everyone that tries to stop us is dealt with accordingly. So, my final piece of advice.
Izzy takes a hold of the camera.
Izzy Anders: Stay the hell away.
Static.
