“Damnit,” he mutters under his breath as one hand casually scratches at the back of his head, “It ain’t supposed to have happened like that. But I’ll be the bigger man,” Lukas claps his hands, “you beat me Malo. Well done!”
Lukas sits down on bean bag chair, his hands cradled behind his head as he stares off into the distance. Wearing a pair of chino shorts and a floral print vest, Lukas gazes back at the camera as he speaks again, “Maybe I underestimated him a li’l bit. But now as we’re heading to the Red Carpet Rumble and the tag team match - Gold Star Connection versus The Bueno Club!” He gesticulates with his hands as he announces the names, “They’re gonna be going into that match, that show, knowing that Malo beat me and Layla.”
“That one of ‘em managed to beat both of us,” he shakes his head vigorously, “buuuut Pedro ain’t beat either of us. He lost to me. He drew with Layla. ‘Cause I know I’m Nearly Undefeated Lukas Gold, but ‘least I done won some, Pedro! ‘Least I ain’t walking into this match against Prince Macrear without a li’l momentum.”
“‘Least I ain’t gonna walk into this match on Thursday night against the guy who beat Peaches, even when she stank! Who fought like hell against Macy Dover and all them in that eight man tag match. ‘Cause that’s a tall order.”
“Out the frying pan and into the fire,” he exclaims, gesturing with his hands for emphasis again, “or something like that. And it ain’t like I’m unfamiliar with Prince MacRear; I’ve dealt with people like him all my life. Overcompensating by thinking he’s better than me, tryna cover up self hatred by projecting it onto us. Focusing on looks and thinking he’s the sexiest guy around. Tryna put the rest of us down ‘cause we ain’t look as good as him.‘Cause he’s looking at me right now like I’m some NASTY and that’s fine. The anger ain’t nothing new to me….”
“And Mac, it’s ok,” Lukas says, holding his hand over his heart.
“We accept you as you are, no matter what you’re into. No matter who you stick your dick in, we ain’t gonna judge you--” he pauses, “--God might. But it ain’t none of our business; but this hiding who you are ain’t healthy, Mac. Denying who you are, who you love…” Lukas tilts his head, “...God knows it took me a long time to find Layla. And I went through a coupla girls before I met her, but when I did. Mac, that was the moment I knew I was onto a good thing, you know. It was like she completed me, like she was the ying to my yan--” he mispronounces the words by accident, “--like we was soulmates.”
“And maybe it ain’t a love thing,” Lukas shrugs, “I’ve been wrong before, and maybe you ain’t a friend of Dorothy. You might not be a bale of hay, maybe you’re just a giant dick!”
“If it ain’t self loathing then you might just be an intolerable ass.”
“If you ain’t overcompensating, then maybe your ego’s just as big as Pedro Gonzales’ losing streak!”
“And if that’s the case, Mac, if you’re a giant dick like I think you are. Then I’m gonna have to channel my inner Layla…” he stifles a laugh, “...and just beat ya like there ain’t no tomorrow!”
“And make sure the fans in that arena don’t see you get your arm raised at the end of it, ‘cause I don’t wanna see that happen. I wanna be able to walk into Red Carpet Rumble with another win under my belt. And some more momentum behind me. So when The Gold Star Connection take on The Bueno Club we can get the job done where it matters! So this Thursday, Mac, me and you are gonna have to battle this one out. But I ain’t going down without a fight!”
