Chandler Scott vs. Chris Strike
Chandler Scott vs. Chris Strike
The house lights in the arena go out completely, thunder and rain can be heard from a distance, all while the image of a large mountain complete with a temple atop the peak is seen on the LCD screen while the beginning lyrics to “Pull Me Under” by Dream Theater blare out of the PA system. The shot zooms into the temple, as the crowd begins to clap along with the beat of the song, watching as a man rises from the throne inside of the temple and makes his way down the steps. Once he nears the camera, he looks up at the sky and makes his way over towards a pool of water. The man looks down into the water, and once he does…a shot of lightning hits the water! As the lightning hits the water in the video, streams of smoke shoot up from the ramp way area and high above, covering the entrance ramp as the song kicks into full motion, the fans clapping along with the song in full while white, yellow and blue spotlights swirl all across the arena.
J.A. Aldridge: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Denver, Colorado via São Paulo, Brazil…weighing in tonight at 190 pounds! HE IS “THE WAR MACHINE”…HE IS…CHRIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSS…STRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
Chris Strike emerges from the curtains and steps out into the limelight, drawing a loud reaction from the faithful as he stops in front of the entrance ramp before he slowly raises his right hand up in the air, looking up and staring at it as smoke shoots out from each side of the ramp before he makes his way down the entrance ramp as the occasional fans reach out towards him from the rail while he walks down the ramp while keeping his eyes focused on the ring as the fans don’t hesitate to sing along with the chorus.
Pull me under! Pull me under!
Pull me under I'm not afraid!
All that I feel is honor and spite,
All I can do is set it right!
Pull me under I'm not afraid!
All that I feel is honor and spite,
All I can do is set it right!
Chris then makes his way up the ring stairs, using the steel pole for support, putting his right foot over the middle rope and as he is about to get inside, Strike suddenly turns around and finds himself with both elbows locked around the top rope, his entire upper body exposed to the crowd’s sight. Strike just gives the fans a sly smirk and a nod as flashes of light go off, before going under the middle rope and into the ring. He looks around at the crowd and walks up to the nearest corner, leaning against the ropes while stretching his arms out as “Pull Me Under” fades…
Kris Cruise: Chris Strike fought inside of an FGA ring for the first time during its debut in Colorado back in September. It was a hard fought match between himself and Cordy Stevenson. Stevenson got the win. But there was always mutual respect there. There’s no respect to be found in this one.
Stephy Auger: No, not at all. These two do not like each other and they didn’t even try to hide that fact in the days leading up to this show. There was a lot of strong words thrown back and forth. But words are words. One of these two will back up their strong words while the other will be defeated and humbled.
The lights dim as the sound of a guitar plays throughout the arena. Red lasers soon begin to shoot out from the stage. Once their attention has been captured, the crowd turns to the entryway to prepare for the man that's about to walk out. At the 25 second mark, “Animal Ghosts” bursts through the speakers. Chandler Scott steps through the curtain with outstretched arms to a loud ovation from the crowd.
J.A. Aldridge: His opponent, from Hyannis, Massachusetts! Weighing in at 228 pounds… CHANDLER SCOTT!
Chandler makes his way down to the ring with a smirk on his face. After slapping hands with a fan or two, he rolls himself into the ring as the lights come back on. Chandler times his ascension onto the middle ropes with the beginning of the chorus. The crowd sings along with the chorus while Chandler poses with his arms stretched. When the chorus ends, Chandler hops off the middle ropes, turns and lands on his feet. He begins slipping off his leather jacket and tosses it to the outside as he awaits the opening bell.
Kris Cruise: Not only did Chris Strike say he was going to beat some respect into Chandler Scott, Strike told him that he failed this company, his fans and himself. You’ve got to imagine that didn’t sit too well with Chandler Scott.
Stephy Auger: No, probably not. But the thing that matters is how will Chandler react. Is he going to come into this match fighting off of emotion? Or will he keep a level head? Strike knows what he’s doing. Strike is a smart man who has a huge advantage over Chandler when it comes to in-ring experience. If gets inside of Chandler’s head, then Chandler is in for a long night.
The bell sounds as both men make their way to the center of the ring and are nose to nose. The capacity crowd is at a fever pitch.
Kris Cruise: Oh boy.
Stephy Auger: This place is going to explode once the first punch is thrown.
There’s some back and forth going on as the two men continue to stare each other down. Trash continues to be talked as Scott places his hands behind his back and dares Strike to hit him. But Strike makes Scott pay for that costly as he drops him with an elbow smash to the face. The crowd erupts with boos.
Kris Cruise: Strike just dropped him!
Stephy Auger:
Scott gets back to his feet, but he’s knocked back down to the canvas. When Scott returns to his feet, he’s met with yet another elbow smash to the face. But this time, Scott answers back with an elbow smash of his on. Strike connects with another elbow smash. Scott comes back with an elbow of his own. Strike delivers another elbow smash. Scott answers back with another elbow of his own. Strike connects with another elbow smash. Scott answers back with another elbow of his own. Strike motions for another elbow smash, but Scott cuts him off and connects with an elbow of his own. The crowd continues to cheer as Scott cuts off Strike with another elbow. After grabbing the back of Strike’s neck with his left hand, Scott uses his right arm to deliver short range elbow smashes to the face of Strike. While Strike is dazed, Scott turns and runs into the ropes. When he returns, the crowd boos when Strike knocks him down with a flying forearm smash. He makes the cover.

Strike reaches down, pulls Scott back up and then pummels him back down in the corner with a barrage of elbow smashes. Strike then grabs the top rope before stomping the hell out of Scott’s chest. Strike reaches down, picks up Scott and nails him with a blistering knife edge chop. He then takes Scott and whips him into the opposite corner. Strike then runs across the ring and into the opposite corner, but Scott knocks him back with a back elbow to the face. After stumbling back, Strike runs back into the corner. The crowd continues to cheer as he takes Strike and whips him into the opposite corner. Scott runs across the ring, dives and connects with a flying corner forearm smash that sends spittle flying out of Strike’s mouth. After a hard slap across the face, Scott lifts Strike up and sits him down on the top turnbuckle. He then turns, reaches back and places Strike in a three quarter facelock. Scott takes a few steps out from the corner and sets up for a rope hung cutter. But Strike’s able to get down from the top turnbuckle. He then quickly grabs Scott from behind, runs and tosses him through the ropes and to the floor.
Kris Cruise: Scott might have got a little cocky there and Strike made him pay.
As Scott gets up on the outside, Strike takes off into the far ropes. When Strike comes back, Scott slides into the ring and sends him flipping down to the canvas with a kitchen sink. While Strike sits up and guards his torso, Scott heads into the ropes. When he returns, he delivers a rolling neck snap. He makes the cover.

After turning Strike around, Scott doubles him over with a punch to the midsection, followed by a punch to the face. Scott nails him with another punch to the midsection, followed by a punch to the face. Strike gets nailed with another punch to the midsection, then a punch to the face. Scott follows up with a European Uppercut before smacking Strike across the face. Strike returns the favor with a smack of his own. Scott answers back by smacking Strike upside the head. Strike responds by rocking Scott with a hard elbow smash. As Scott stumbles back way from the corner, Strike goes after him and nails him with another elbow smash. Scott then delivers a hard shoot kick to the chest, followed by another elbow smash. Scott delivers three more elbows before turning and running into the far ropes. When Strike returns, Scott grabs him, runs and tosses him over the top rope and to the floor.
Kris Cruise: Strike takes a hard fall to the floor after being tossed to the outside. But before that, these two were trading some hard elbows, Stephy.
Stephy Auger: Oh yeah, they were trying to knock each other’s lights out with those elbows. You could feel the tension in the air before either man made their way out to the ring.
As Strike slowly peels himself off the floor, Scott takes off into the far ropes. When Strike gets to his feet and turns around, the crowd cheers as Scott leaps through the ropes and knocks him down with a suicide dive. Scott mounts himself on top of Strike and fires down short-range punches to the face.
Kris Cruise: Scott going to town on the face of Strike.
Scott picks up Strike and whips him hard into the guardrail. After Strike crashes into the guardrail, he arches his back. While Strike continues to writhe in pain, Scott takes a few steps back before running down the ringside area. He connects with a hard running European Uppercut, knocking Strike over the guardrail and into the crowd.
Kris Cruise: Strike’s just been sent into the crowd!
Stephy Auger: But I don’t think Scott’s done yet!
Scott makes his way back down to the other end of the ringside area. After turning around, Scott charges back down ringside. But Strike cuts him off with a flying forearm smash over the guardrail.
Kris Cruise: Strike with a flying forearm from out of nowhere! Unbelievable!

Kris Cruise: There’s a little over a month left in the career of Chris Strike as an active wrestler. For the first time ever, these two are stepping inside the center of the ring. As much as Strike cannot stand Scott, as much as he dislikes him, you know that Strike would love to check that box next to Scott’s name. You’ve got to think that he would love for nothing more than to hold that victory over Scott.
Strike picks up Scott, moves him into the corner and delivers a knife edge chop, followed by a kesagiri chop. He delivers another knife edge chop, followed by a kesagiri chop. Kris Cruise: Much different matchup this time. The last time Strike wrestled in an FGA ring, it was more of a technical match between he and Cordy Stevenson This is just a fight. Every time Strike throws a chop or an elbow, he’s putting something extra behind it and so is Scott.
Strike sits up Scott and nails him with a hard soccer kick to the small of the back. Strike steps before and connects with another hard shoot kick that nearly kick Scott’s spine through his chest.
