Evan Envi vs. Chris Madison
“Can You Feel It?” hits the PA system to a deafening chorus of boos from the audience. As multicolored strobes flicker throughout the darkened arena, Evan Envi struts through the curtains toward the top of the ramp. He pauses, looking out among the audience before casually making his way toward the ring, seemingly ignorant to the boos and jeers raining down on him.
J.A. Aldridge: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from Ocean City, Maryland, weighing in at 204 pounds … ‘THE CHIEF’ EVAN ENVI!
Finally, as Envi leaps onto the apron, our lights return to normal. Envi climbs the turnbuckles from the apron, grinning out into the audience, raising the double “V” fingers into the air before finally stepping over the ropes and dropping into the ring, fingers still raised above his head as he marches throughout the squared circle.
Kris Cruise: We know that at Final Frontier, Evan Envi will challenge Molly Reid for the FGA Pride title. But tonight he has a whole other challenge on his hands.
Stephy Auger: He has a Pride title match to look forward to next month, Cruise, he has the anger from being left out of the Lethal Lottery tournament to fuel him. This may not be the same Evan Envi we’ve seen in recent weeks, he’ll be even better! And I’d hate to be in his opponent’s shoes right now.
The venue's lights cut out, causing the entire building to go dark. Static feedback screeches over the P.A. system, forcing the fans in the audience to cover their ears. The video screen near the entrance way lights up with a white snowy picture, barely illuminating the entrance ramp. A black handprint slowly fades into the picture with a red anarchy symbol carved into the palm of the handprint. The crowd jumps to their feet with a roaring standing ovation as the static feedback is replaced by the opening chorus to Bullet For My Valentine's single You Want a Battle? (Here's A War).
"We will not take this anymore
These words will never be ignored
You want a battle
HERE'S A WAR!!"
These words will never be ignored
You want a battle
HERE'S A WAR!!"
A sole spotlight focuses on the curtain for the entranceway as Chris Madison steps out. His head is tucked down and covered by a black towel, focusing on the ground beneath him. The crowd erupts in anticipation as Madison stands as still as a statue. He finally brings his fists up towards his face and punches himself on the jaw with both hands before ripping the towel from his head and spiking it down to the ground.
J.A. Aldridge: And his opponent. Coming to the ring from Long Island, New York, weighing in at 220 pounds and standing six feet tall, "Mayhem" CHRIS MMAADDIISSOONN!!!"
Madison charges to the ring and slides in under the bottom rope before hoping up to his feet. He walks towards the nearest ropes corner and climbs up to the second rope, surveying the live crowd before holding his arms out horizontally.
Kris Cruise: Two weeks ago we saw Chris Madison’s fourteen months undefeated streak come to and end at the hands of Annie Zellor. How will that affect him tonight? Will he be more determined to start again, and see if he can make a streak even longer than before?
Stephy Auger: I don’t think that’s what’s on his mind, Cruise. He’s looking across the ring at the man who’s APW career he ended three years ago, and Chris Madison knows – HE KNOWS – that revenge is coming. And he’s dreading this match, no matter what he’s said, he’s dreading this one.
The bell sounds to start the match as both competitors circle the ring; the fans chanting Chris Madison’s name as he moves around the ring, causing Evan to tell them to “shut up!”. That only causes the fans to boo him, but it does allow Madison the opportunity to catch Evan with a forearm smash. And another! The fans cheering with each shot as Madison backs his opponent into a corner. An Irish whip ensues as The Chief is sent from pillar to post, with Madison close behind as he connects with a running clothesline. A spinebuster out of the corner and Madison covers.

Evan kicks out.
But Madison doesn’t let up; he brings Evan right back to his feet and backs him into the corner again with some knee strikes to the midsection. Some clubbing blows to the back follow, doubling The Chief over, before he’s finally taken down by a gutwrench suplex. And again, Madison is right on him. He sits Evan up and applies a rear chinlock. But The Chief isn’t trapped for long; he begins to fight his way out of the hold, working up to a kneeling position as he fires off some elbows to the midsection of Chris Madison.
Kris Cruise: Evan Envi has been on something of a roll lately, Stephy, culminating in picking up a victory over Pride Champion, Molly Reid.
Stephy Auger: She’s not my Pride Champion…
Kris Cruise: …ok. But tonight he’s got his hands full with an old rival. And what a match this promises to be.
Evan fires off more elbows, finally breaking the hold Chris has on him, before Madison drives a knee up into the midsection. He goes for an Irish whip, sending Evan against the ropes – but The Chief hangs on, and rolls out under the bottom rope.
The fans in attendance boo and jeer as Evan declares he just needs a quick breather. He knows Chris Madison isn’t in any mood to wait; Mayhem rolls out of the ring after him, making his way around the outside as Evan moves away and finally rolls back into the ring. Madison follows him in, only to get stomped on the back of the head several times. More boos as Evan drags Chris up by the hair, and throws him head first into the top turnbuckle. The referee even tries to admonish him for the hair pull, but The Chief is already chopping away at his opponent’s chest.
An Irish whip follows as Madison is sent from pillar to post, with Evan following him in with a high knee strike to the face. Madison falls back into the corner as Evan grabs him again, this time delivering some European uppercuts. He follows that up with a belly-to-belly suplex, and Evan scrambles on top for the lateral press.

Madison kicks out.
Stephy Auger: Did that seem like a slow count to you, Cruise?
Kris Cruise: No, that was normal speed.
Envi looks to the referee, but the official assures him it was only a two count. Undeterred, he brings Madison back to his feet for a quick saito suplex. Madison hits the mat hard, holding the back of his head as Evan pops back to his feet; he’s quick to taunt the fans, telling them that Madison was never fit to lace his boots, before stomping at the head again.
Stephy Auger: Three years ago it was Chris Madison who cut Evan’s APW career short, and it looks like Evan may still resent that somewhat, Cruise.
Kris Cruise: That or he’s just being Evan Envi…
Evan brings his opponent back to his feet again, sending Chris against the ropes with an Irish whip before a flapjack sends Mayhem face first into the turnbuckle. He falls back into the corner, and Evan is quick to pounce, delivering a succession of chops and uppercuts to his defenseless opponent. Evan finally brings his opponent out of the corner with a running bulldog, before going for the cover.

Madison kicks out.
This time Evan looks at the referee with more venom in his eyes, but he doesn’t argue. Instead he brings Madison to his feet and throws him out through the middle rope. The fans boo once again as Evan poses with his hands in the air, before he steps out onto the apron. Madison is still down on the outside as Evan takes a run up, performing a shooting star press off the apron – right into the raised knees of his opponent!
Kris Cruise: What a counter by Chris Madison! And he might’ve just found a way back into this match.
The fans cheer as Evan rolls away clutching his ribs in pain. Madison grabs onto the ring apron, using it to help himself back to a vertical base. He’s followed shortly thereafter by Evan Envi, but Madison is ready for him. Some clubbing blows to the back find their mark, before Chris throws his opponent shoulder first into the ring steps. Finally, Evan gets rolled back into the ring as Madison follows him in.
The Chief is holding his ribs in pain as he stands up, only to get caught by a toe kick to the gut. An Irish whip sends Evan towards the corner, which he hits chest first. He staggers backwards, right into the waiting arms of Chris Madison and a bridging German suplex!

Evan kicks out!
Both men scramble to get to their feet again as a dazed Evan Envi lashes out with a clothesline. His opponent easily evades the attack, diving around the back to counter with an atomic drop. The Chief howls in pain, holding his fanny as he staggers away. But Madison is already on the move, bouncing off the ropes for a Yakuza kick! The fans cheer loudly once more as Madison paces around the ring; his glare is directly at the prone Evan Envi, who’s forcing himself back to his feet. But Mayhem is ready; he fires off a couple of low kicks to the knee of The Chief, before he hits the ropes for a running jumping knee strike!
Kris Cruise: Chris Madison venting all those years of frustration too, it would seem. He’s bringing the fight to Evan Envi right now, and these fans love it!
Stephy Auger: These fans love anything bad that happens to The Chief, Cruise. Like when he didn’t even get a chance to be in the Lethal Lottery, did you hear them taunt him?
Kris Cruise: I did, but he might have brought that on himself.
Stephy Auger: Bull! But someone like Chris Madison who just lost his fourteen month undefeated streak to Annie Zellor still gets cheered? These fans are messed up, Cruise. Messed up!
Madison brings his opponent back to his feet with a rear waistlock applied, but Evan fires off some elbows to the face. A stomp to the foot gets Mayhem to release his grip, before Evan fires off a mule kick. Unlike other mule kicks, this one manages to hit Mayhem in the midsection, doubling him over as Evan hits the ropes for an arm trap neckbreaker!
Both competitors are down momentarily, but Evan rolls towards the ropes, using them to bring himself back to a vertical base. Madison manages to stand up on his own accord, as he charges at Evan. A drop toe hold sends Madison throat first across the middle rope, before Evan pushes his knee down across the back to choke Chris.
Referee: One…Two…Three…Four…
Evan releases the choke in time, but still earns an admonishment from the referee. Undeterred, he brings Madison back up so he can perform a belly to back suplex. With his opponent down on the mat, Evan looks towards the corner. Some fans even cheer as The Chief steps out onto the apron, and begins his ascent to the top. Slowly but surely, Evan makes his way up the turnbuckle, but he took too long! Madison is back on his feet – he dives towards the ropes, shaking them as Evan crotches himself on the top turnbuckle!
Stephy Auger: Poor Chief!
Kris Cruise: The high risk didn’t pay off. What can Chris Madison do from here?
Wearily, Madison makes his way to the corner and climbs to the middle rope. He hooks The Chief in position for a superplex, but Evan blocks it. Madison tries again, but once more The Chief has his legs hooked around the ropes to stop it. And Evan fires off some shots to the midsection, forcing Chris to release his grip, before an eye rake by Evan causes his opponent to stumble backwards!
Madison hits the mat back first, but rolls through and to his feet as Evan steadies himself on the top rope, ready for the cross body block!

THR-Madison kicks out!
Both competitors scramble to get back to their feet as Evan lashes out with another clothesline, but Chris ducks under the arm. He runs against the ropes, rebounding as Evan turns around, just in time to get caught by a bicycle knee strike! Somehow Evan stays on his feet, but the lights aren’t on. Madison grabs him with a rear waistlock, before performing the ripcord rolling elbow!
Kris Cruise: Comatosed! This could be it!

Stephy Auger: The Chief stays in it!
Madison sits up in shock as the referee holds up two fingers, but the crowd can’t quite believe it either. With a look of determination on his face, he brings Evan back to his feet once again, pushing him towards the corner as Madison delivers several clubbing blows to the back. He bounces Evan’s head off the top turnbuckle repeatedly until the referee tells him to stop, and even then he just whips Evan across the ring. Madison follows him in with a running clothesline – NO!
Evan dives out of the way, and Madison hits the turnbuckle chest first! He staggers back a few steps and drops to one knee as the air rushes out of his chest, allowing the opportunistic Evan Envi to charge in with a shining wizard!
Stephy Auger: Shining Wizard connects! This one’s over, Cruise!
Evan drags himself across the mat, draping an arm across the chest.

THR-NOO!
Madison gets the shoulder up at the last second, and this one keeps going. Evan looks to the referee in anger, but the official swears blind it was only a two! With his anger levels rising, Evan picks his opponent up and he pushes Madison back into the corner. Chop after chop to the chest, before Evan switches tact and starts delivering uppercuts instead. An Irish whip ensues as Madison is sent from pillar to post, and he hits the far turnbuckle chest first. Madison staggers backwards a few steps, right into the waiting arms of Evan and his Fadekiller!
Kris Cruise: The Fadekiller is lock–NO!
Madison connects with a back elbow to break the katahajime submission, and sending Evan back a step. Chris swings round with a lariat, but Evan ducks under that and dives around the back for the BPA! And the cover by Evan Envi!

Stephy Auger: How did he kick out of that one!?
The crowd look relieved than Evan does, however, as he glares at the referee. But the official once again assures him it was only a two count. The frustration is setting in as Evan drags his opponent up again, this time with a rear waistlock applied. But Madison reverses, diving around the back with his last ounce of energy. A dragon suplex takes Evan over, but he doesn’t bridge. Evan rolls through and staggers to his feet as Madison sneaks up behind him and lifts him up into an electric chair position…
Kris Cruise: Is this The End Game?
Stephy Auger: No, it can’t!
Madison pushes his opponent up and catches him with a German suplex on the way down! The End Game connects; Madison bridges it for the cover!

J.A. Aldridge: Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of this match … CHRIS MADISON!
Stephy Auger: What, no! Evan had hold of the bottom rope! That pinfall shouldn’t have counted.
Kris Cruise: You may be right, Stephy, but the referee didn’t seem to see it.
The official helps Madison back to his feet, raising his arm in victory as Evan looks on in disbelief. He’s dazed after the End Game, but he knows he grabbed the rope to break that pinfall.
Stephy Auger: First Lenny screws Evan out of a World title opportunity, now the officials are screwing him out of matches. This is disgraceful.
