"Oh hi, babes! Emily Carter here and I can't tell you how glad I am that me and Mercy were able to work things out," says a smiling Emily Carter, who is in high spirits after patching things up with Mercy Williams.
"It definitely looked like there was some hostility in the air after the way our 8 Man Tag Match ended on the Pilot episode. If Mercy yelling my head off wasn't proof, then her shoving me down all but confirmed it," she says as she looks down and lets out a sigh. "But I didn't get mad. I didn't get even. Instead, I kept a level head. I wasn't about to let our friendship be ruined over a silly misunderstanding. So I let whatever frustrations that were there run their course. In the end, cooler heads prevailed and me and Merce? We're as solid as ever." Emily gives a thumbs up at the camera.
"Which is great news! But not just for our friendship. But for our big tag match on the latest episode of Thursday Night Challenge, only on AxxessNet" Emily smiles and winks after the cheap plug. "With a team, you have to run like a well-oiled machine, you know? You've gotta operate as if you're one cohesive unit. We've gotta pick each other up when the other is down. We have to know where the other is at all times. But most important of all, you've gotta have trust. Without thrust, there's no way that a team can succeed. Well I can say confidently that after smoothing things over two weeks ago, there aren't any trust issues on this side. The two of us are back on the same page. You know what that means, ladies and gents? That means bad news for our opponents, Keegan Hightower and Ethan Thompson II."
"Of course, every time you stand across the ring from us, that usually means bad news for you. Isn't that right, Keegs?" she asks before flashing a cheeky grin.
"It wasn't that long ago in LDFC when my girl Mercy beat you 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring. And I know you haven't forgotten the time that I put you down, now have you? Of course not. Despite the two of us already owning a victory over you in a singles match, I'm not about to look past you. You're too good to write off. And no, you don't need to adjust your screen. You didn't mishear anything. I'm actually acknowledging the fact that despite how much of a jerk you are, you're a pretty solid wrestler. Now I don't need to come on here and tell you how good you are. A cocky guy like you never misses an opportunity to let everyone within earshot know how highly he thinks of himself. But don't you worry. Me and Merce will have no problem knocking you down a peg or two... again."
"See this time, you don't have the luxury of hiding behind the skirts of Prince MacRear or your BFF Katie. Nope, you're gonna have to be the captain of this team. And openly complaining about your first match back being a tag match? Um yeah, that's probably not gonna do a whole heck of a lot for your team's morale." She shakes her head.
"Then there's your partner, Ethan Thompson. There's no doubting his skillset, either. He's as tough as he is ruthless. While any fan of the sport would respect the Thompson name, I definitely don't respect your actions! The way you've gone after Rab, Susan and Pedro? That's not cool. Though I did find it interesting how you've got no problem attacking people from behind. But as soon as someone like Maritza Diaz confronts you, you suddenly decide that the ring is the last place you want to be. Funny how that works." Emily rubs her chin. "Well let me tell you something, Ethan. There's not gonna be any running this Thursday. You might look at me and Mercy and brush us off based on our looks. But others have done the same and that didn't turn out too well for them. You may think that you've got this in the bag. But what are you gonna do when you can't jump an opponent from behind? What are you gonna do when we hit back just as hard as you do?
You've taken Rab, Susan and Pedro - three fine folks if you ask me - and have shown them no mercy. But what are you gonna do when your begs for mercy fall on deaf ears?"
