“What makes a good partner?” Mercy poised the question, tapping her chin with her index finger.
Mercy stood in front of graffiti in downtown LA, she wore ripped light denim jeans, black bralet with a leather jacket. A camera adjusted to a medium shot as she started to speak.
“Ideally someone you can trust and depend on, that has your back.” Mercy answered her own question as she flicked her long wavy light brown hair that glistened in the sunset.
“Emily and I may have gone through a hurdle in the past week or so. You see, people may believe that this upcoming tag team match is a test to see if we can cooperate. I admit, I did place a lot of the blame on that loss in the 8-person tag match on her. But after coming to a better understanding, I see it was miscommunication. I do believe that hiccup gave us that opportunity to getting a better understanding of each other."
Mercy sighed, moving her head away to hide her rolling eyes.
“Emily is a good friend of mine so I can’t allow myself to have that ‘loss’ get to me. You can say that my pride took a hit because I did not want to be seen as the ‘weak link’ from the LDFC alumni. I’m the one who always has the most to prove, and I don’t have a single doubt that the two men we are up against will see me as the easy target.”
Mercy frowned at the cold hard truth, shaking her head.
“Let’s start off with the one I’m familiar with, Keegan Hightower. My fellow LDFC Alumni, the man who was in the opposing team the 8 tag team match. This upcoming match is his first time getting back into the ring since the pilot show, same as both Emily and I. Of course he wants to get the ball rolling in his run in 3GW, so a win over Emily and I would be beneficial for him. And there is Mr ‘Emerald’ Lion, Ethan Thompson. Funny, I had the Emerald Jewel moniker for the past few months and now there is an allegedly an Emerald Lion now. I have to step up my game to show who the true ‘Emerald’ is around here."
Mercy grinned, raising up her right hand and wiggling her emerald green painted nails towards the camera with the camera zooming in on her green eyes. Mercy giggled, as the camera zoomed out from her face. Mercy composed herself to continue speaking.
“Ethan has been showing some cracks after suffering through some losses. He’s been showing that frustration by assaulting his opponents to pulps. He’s a force to be wrecked with, but would teaming up with a man that shows similar traits to him help him finally gain that first win? Possibly. Or he could simply fail once again and this time I make sure he won’t get his hands on me after the match.”
Mercy shrugged her shoulders like the whole avoiding the attack would be an easy task to do.
“Oh, I’ve heard that Emerald Lion is a Kiwi, so I can get under his skin by saying that Australia is better than New Zealand. But then again, everyone knows New Zealand is Australia Jnr, so technically I win the Emerald moniker.”
Mercy raised an eyebrow. The whole Emerald issue did bother her, but of course, Mercy can’t get too petty over a nickname.
“Regardless, when it comes to this match, nicknames shouldn’t be the issue. I’m going to step inside that ring and get the win for I”
Mercy paused for a moment realising that she needed to correct herself. “I mean, getting the win for the team, since there is no I in team.
Mercy tilted her head with a toothy grin to downplay her error.
“Keegan and Ethan, you’re up against two women whose bond is stronger than ever. Emily and I will prove that we are the elite females in 3GW. This will be my true redemption in 3GW and there isn’t anyone better I would like to share it with - Miss Emily Carter. See you out there boys, I hope you don’t need your ladies to fight your battles for ya.”
Mercy winked into the camera, alluding to Keegan and Ethan’s managers who will be at ringside. Mercy leaned over to blow a kiss into the camera as the shot ended.
