The scene cuts in on Zero McHannon limping around the hallways after his grueling match with Chandler Scott. He has a towel wrapped around his neck and the FGA World Championship firmly locked onto his shoulder. Spencer Burke was waiting for McHannon at the end of the hallway as he stepped forward, but Zero didn’t give Spencer any time to ask a question when he blurted out.
Zero McHannon: ZERO MCHANNONNNNNNNNN BEATS CHANDLER SCOTT! There’s a headline for your next newspaper, bitches.
Spencer just slightly nods his head and keeps the microphone between McHannon and himself.
Spencer Burke: Congrats on the win, Zero. Not much I can say about your match tonight besides that. You silenced the doubters. You put your best foot forward. Even pulled few extra moves to get the job done.
Zero holds up a finger to Spencer to “shhhhhh” him.
Zero McHannon: STILLLLLLLLL YOUR FGA WORLD CHAMPION!...... still undervalued. Underappreciated. Still don’t get the credit that I rightfully deserve. You said it yourself, Spencer. There’s a part inside you right now, that you won’t admit, that hates seeing me walk out of that ring with this title. Don’t worry, pal. You’re not the only one.
There’s a huge smile from McHannon as he clutches the FGA World Championship with both hands.
Zero McHannon: I’ve already said I’m sick of it. The company? Doesn’t deserve me or the show I put on for them each and every night. My co-workers? They don’t deserve to watch me go out in that ring anymore and outshine them every time I step through those ropes. Frankly, I’ve BEEN fed up with it. You think with how successful I’ve been that these people would be watching with eagle eyes on. ALL EYES ON ME! Just a man in his PRRRRRIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMEEEEEEEE.
A small laugh from McHannon, but Spencer looks confused.
Zero McHannon: I’m finished. I’ve ran through this locker room. I’ve put on the best matches FGA has seen this entire year. I won this championship belt three times. I’ve beat everyone that matters. Tonight I realized that I’m at the top of my game. No one here deserves to watch me at the top of my game.
McHannon walks past Spencer.
Zero McHannon: I’m leaving.
This took Spencer back as he steps toward McHannon and put a hand on his shoulder. Zero ripped his shoulder away from Spencer.
Spencer Burke: What do you mean by “you’re leaving”?
Zero gives Spencer a stone cold look.
Zero McHannon: What do you think it means? Exactly what I said. I’m leaving FGA. Starting right now. This is what happens when you don’t treat your top champion with the respect that he actually deserves.
Zero starts to walk away again, but Spencer speaks up.
Spencer Burke: But… you still have a year and half on your contract here. You’re the FGA World Champion. You can’t… just leave. There’s obligations in your contract.
Zero McHannon: Watch me.
McHannon continues to walk away from Spencer before he turns around, then holds up the FGA World Championship.
Zero McHannon: And I’m taking the FGA World Championship with me. These idiots don’t even deserve a world title to compete for anymore. You don’t think I get offers from companies around the world to come work for them? You act like I NEED FGA more than it NEEDS me? Me and the FGA World Championship are out of here.
Spencer still tries questioning Zero as he steps forward with the microphone.
Spencer Burke: Where will you go? Do you plan on coming back or bringing the title back with you?
Zero’s smile faded.
Zero McHannon: I don’t. This title is rightfully mine. Book me. I won’t show. Fine me. I’ll pay it. This title isn’t coming back to the company until I’m good and ready. I don’t see myself being ready to come back anytime soon.
McHannon turns his back to Spencer.
Zero McHannon: I’ve done nothing but make this company “great”. I was never appreciated. Now that the power is in my hands and I’ve beat the biggest star this business can offer me? I’m not on borrowed time anymore. I’m on MY time.
He smiles.
Zero McHannon: FGA…. say goodbye to Zero McHannon.
One last time, Zero holds the title above his head.
Zero McHannon: And say goodbye to the FGA World Championship.
McHannon walks away fully this time as Spencer’s mouth is hanging. Burke looks back to the camera and tries to find something to say, but there’s no words.
