Sophomore Slump Or Nah?

“The main event. A title on the line. All the pressure in the world on our shoulders.”
The scene opens to the young Banks family member, who seems to be standing outside of his home in Long Beach, dressed in clothes suitable for the warm weather.
“That’s really what we got here, isn’t it, Shintaro? You and I will get the match we would have gotten over at Lion’s Den FC, but this time, it’s going to be for a different title. This time, you’re not the challenger and I’m not the champion. No, this time? We’re both the challengers and we’re both looking at making history by becoming the inaugural 3GW Fifteen champion.
Hell, I’d dare say that the stakes have now risen higher for both of us, haven’t they? For you, it’s your chance to prove that you can stand on your own in singles competition. That you are championship worthy. That even though the last time you were in a title match you failed, the same thing won’t be happening this time.
While for me, it’s about proving a few things. I have to prove that I can beat you when we meet in the ring one-on-one, even if I failed to beat you during our tag team match. I have to prove that I’m one of the best this company has right now. And I have to prove that I’m not a one title wonder. That I can win another one to add to my list of accomplishments.
And to be truthful, we do share one thing that we have to prove. We both have to prove that we are better than the person standing across the ring, staring daggers at us. I have to prove I’m better than you and you have to prove you’re better than me. And the one that does that walks out with that title around their waist.”
Jensen takes a momentary pause before he lets out a sigh.
“I’ll be honest with you though, Shintaro. I’ve got no issues with you outside of the fact that you want what I want and that is the Fifteen championship. Besides that, you and I have never really butted heads. I think the closest we got was when you helped that mist spitting bitch beat me, but then again, I should’ve known better, shouldn’t I?
But consider this me giving you the benefit of the doubt. I don’t think you have anything dirty up your sleeve. I think you want to win this match as clean as a whistle just so that you never have to hear me complain or call you things that you’ve never had anyone else call you. I think you’re going to come into this match looking to beat me all by yourself.
And if you do that, then you and I are going to have a match worthy of being called a main event. You and I will then go to war with no distractions and the man who proves to be the better wrestler will pick up the win and take that title home. And I know that you’re just chomping at the bit to get into the ring and get that monkey off your back and finally win a championship and as much as I hate getting in someone’s way of achieving a goal, that’s exactly what I’m doing.
I’m a former LDFC Old North champion. I won this year’s Rookie X Cup, defeating Selena King, someone I have worked with and am friends with, in the finals. I’ve put on a solid rookie year, but I’m not looking to have a sophomore slump either. And this match right here will immediately erase the option of said sophomore slump. That title becoming mine would erase any doubt about how good I am in this ring.
We both want the same thing, but we’re standing in each other’s way. One of us has to move the other aside to reach our goal and I know it’ll take everything I got to push you aside and get my hands around that title, just like you know it’s going to take every single thing that YOU got to push me aside.
Pressure’s on, but I’ve already performed well under it before. It’s now your turn to prove that you won’t choke in this title match either. Because if there’s one thing I won’t give you, it’s room for error.
BANK ON IT.”
The video then fades out after the former Old North champion states his family’s signature line.
