“No, no, I is already hitting the recording button – you just has to point it at me, amigo!”
The feed, already in progress, opens to show Malo sitting comfortably; the fact that it looks like he’s in the center seat of an aircraft notwithstanding. Pressing the button on his armrest, he reclines his seat the full three inches that he’s allotted before smiling back at the camera and continuing.
“Hola, everybodys! Malo, he is coming to you today from thirty-thousand feet in the air. I is on mi way from Atlantic City to Los Angeles where I is being very proud to appear on the first ever Thursday Night Challenge! You see,” he grins, resting an arm behind his head, “Malo, he is going to be racking up the miles this year as I is flying back and forth from New Jersey to California each week – I may be able to go into the Admiral’s Club before the new year!” He laughs and slaps the shoulder of the man sitting to his right, who clears his throat and tries inching a little closer to the window.
“So while Malo is spending so much time in the air, I is having muy opportunities to think about just what I is wanting to get out this shot in Tres-Gee-Double-You. It seems like this new company rising from the ashes of LDFC could not have been comings at the better of times. Malo,” he chuckles, “he was not the most proud of his time in LDFC. While he is getting his professional beginnings here, something …” he says, pausing momentarily, “something just is not clicking. It seem that no matter what Malo is doing, I is not able to catch the breaks and just keep getting swept further and further away from the spotlight.
Mi amigo, Pedro Gonzalez, he is telling Malo that there is only one place to be going from where we was – this place is up; so this is where Malo is going!” He turns his head, looking out the window and jutting his thumb in that direction. “See? Malo is saying he goes up” he says with a snicker. “So when the LDFC is folding and Malo is thinking that this is the last of the Frontier peoples that he is going to ever see, along comes the good peoples from TresGW to scoop up all of the talent – as well as Malo,” he adds with an air of, obvious, self-deprecation.
“Malo, he flies out to Los Angeles for the press-conference where I is allowed to introduce myself – but I notice that even though Malo is a big name in the New Jersey wrestling scene, the peoples of the West Coast are not knowing who I is.
Lady and gentlemans, mi nombré es, El Grandé Malo y I is the pride and joy of Mexico, Maine. I is a multi-time champion and, alongside mi amigo, Pedro, a card carrying member of the Bueno Club. I is not here to issue the threats and make the grand promises like many of the other peoples who is joining me on the roster. The only promises that I is making is that mi matches, no matter how small, will always be leaving you on the edges of your seats. I will always give you cien percent every time I is stepping into that ring.
I is not the biggest name on the TresGW roster, but very soon everyone will be knowing Malo’s name. East to West, Malo will leave the fans wanting more – which is bueno, because that is what I is aiming to deliver.
This week,” he says, nodding his head, “I is taking on Señor Colt Cooper”, which he pronounces with extra emphasis on the double vowel, “in mi debut. Señor, it is the pleasure to meet you and I is expecting this to be the muy bueno, high flying match full of the breathtaking aerial acrobatics. Malo, he is not knowing much about you other than what he is reading on your TresGW biography, which,” he sidebars, his head cocked slightly to the side, “Malo is noticing is not having the correct information on him. Mental note to get that updated, ¡si!?
Anyways,” he continues, back on track, “amigo, I is hoping that while we is finding ourselves near the start of the night’s events – we will steal the show! This is not the first time that Malo is underestimated; and from this roster not the last either. I is wishing you the best of luck, señor, and may the best chico win!
Viva La Bueno!” he smiles, giving the camera a resounding thumbs up before reaching forward to take the phone back from the passenger seated in front of him and stopping the feed.
