A.J. WOLFE is found inside the training ring at Portland Championship Wrestling’s training facility.
“Glitz. Glamour. Glory. That’s what the entertainment business is all about, right? It’s the life-force of Hollywood. It’s what aspiring actors and entertainers envision when they begin their careers. Glitz. Glamour. Glory.”
AJ looks around at the dusty championship display cases and faded wrestling posters around him. He looks down at at the sweat drops on the mat before raising his gaze back up to the camera.
“Does this look like the 3G’s? There is none here. This is where blood, sweat, and tears accompany the reality of professional wrestling. If you come to Portland Championship Wrestling with visions of grandeur, you will quickly learn there is a heavy price to pay if you want to achieve wrestling greatness. PCW is one of the few places where professional wrestling has not sold itself out to sports entertainment.”
AJ smirks.
“So why have I, AJ Wolfe, signed with Frontier Grappling Arts’ newest brand, 3GW? I joined 3GW to begin a wrestling revolution on the center stage of sports entertainment. It’s time people appreciate the hard work and sacrifice that goes into professional wrestling that is often forgotten when the lights, cameras, and entertainment take over. I am bringing professional wrestling back to Los Angeles. I’m coming to 3GW to be countercultural and revolutionary. It’s time for the fans of professional wrestling to RISE above the sports entertainment pill they’ve been forced to consume. And this revolution begins at Thursday Night Challenge.”
AJ takes a moment to gather his thoughts as he paces slowly in the ring.
“Robert McKinley. You are a prime example of why we need a wrestling revolution in 3GW. You represent many others. And you admit to doing things on the fly. In my book that’s just being lazy. That’s one of the issues with sports entertainment. It’s lazy. So you’re going to rely on haymakers to win the match for you? Or if you’re hoping your little friend Maritza will help you deal with me, then all you are doing is proving my point. Please...”
AJ scoffs.
“What about you, Maritza? If you’re not going to grace us with your presence to hype the Thursday show, I hope you’re in the dojo working out kinks in your wrestling arsenal.”
AJ gets a determined look on his face.
“Look, don’t get me wrong. I want 3GW to succeed. But I want to see 3GW take professional wrestling seriously and not fall for the fallacy of sports entertainment. I don’t deny that I’m gunning for the Paramount and 15 Championships. I’m running on all cylinders. I’m jacked for 3GW. I just don’t seem to see it from my opponents. It’s almost like there is an entitlement here. At Thursday Night Challenge, I will change that. LDFC is gone. So let me educate you on how it’s going to go down on Thursday night.”
AJ motions for the camera to get closer.
“It happens in every city, in every town, every village across the world. There's one kid in the school yard that no one's ever quite sure of. No one really knows that much about him. He's an outsider. He hasn't had much to do with the current group of people. One day, the biggest bully in the school decides to have a little fun with the outsider. He's going to kick his ass. So one recess, all the kids are out in the school yard, playing and having fun, and the bully goes up to the outsider and picks on him. He threatens to beat the shit out of him. But things backfire. The outsider steps up and takes the bully to task. He stands toe to toe with the bully and gets the win in the end. What happens next? All the other kids don't bother him again. They let him be. They respect him. Some even decide to join him.”
AJ smirks.
“I’m going to walk into 3GW and stand toe to toe with two of LDFC’s best, and like me or not, I’m going to prove myself to be more than anyone here expects. It's ok, Maritza. If you don't want to poke your head and say boo, I won't hold it against you. While Robert figures out how he’s going to hit me with a haymaker with his nose up your ass, I'll just beat you two and take one step closer to the 3GW Paramount and/or 15 Titles and true wrestling glory. Are you ready for a revolution? Revolutionaries, RISE!”
AJ glares at the camera before exiting and a slow fade out.
