Mosberg Hardware, Wichita Kansas
Marsha Kent is doing the annual inventory, it’s a long tedious task, but one she doesn’t mind, even its by herself, she counts boxes of nails, lawn mowers, weed whackers, etc, something enters the area, she turns to see Keller Mosberg, her daughter Susan’s best friend.
Marsha: Hey, Keller.
Keller: Hey Marsha, I thought you could use some coffee.
Marsha: Yes, thank-you.
Keller: This sucks, my dad shouldn’t have you doing this by yourself.
Marsha: It’s no trouble really, I don’t mind.
Keller: I suppose, I’m just saying this is a lot of work for one person.
Marsha: Well maybe you can help me then.
Keller liked the idea of that, any opportunity to spend time with Marsha, was an opportunity she would take advantage of.
Keller: You’ll have to tell me what to do though.
Marsha: It’s really simple, just count things, and stuff.
Keller wasn’t the only one who was enjoying this time, Marsha had grown quite of of Keller, as the continuous glances at Keller’s behind were proving. Several hours past and the inventory was surprisingly done.
Marsha: See really easy, of course I had a really great helper.
Marsha’s compliment made Keller smile.
Keller: So Susan has her first match coming up.
Marsha: I can’t remember the name of her opponent right now though, she’s going get some training in L.A before the match.
Keller: Yeah I spoke to her before she left.
Marsha: She seems quite excited, even though those other companies closed down before she could have a match, but this one seems like it not going to close.
Keller had come there for another purpose then to just bring Marsha coffee, there was something she wanted to ask Marsha, but somehow forgot to get to it.
Keller: Anyway I’ve have to be going, dad well be mad at me for keeping you from your work.
Marsha: It’s okay I like your company.
Keller: Thank-you, but I have to go now.
Keller walks towards the door has begins a conversation with herself.
Keller: Why didn’t I just ask here, I’m such and Idiot.
She would get another chance as Marsha was asking her to come back, Keller walks back to Marsha, and was about to ask her the thing when Marsha said something that would make forget about asking the thing.
Marsha: Keller, there’s something I’d like to ask you, and if you say no I’ll completely understand.
Keller was wondering what Marsha was going to ask, and waited rather impatiently, so she could ask her the thing.
Marsha: I know this may be a little weird, with you being Susan’s best friend and all, but would you like to go out sometime.
Keller: On a date.
Marsha: Yeah, on a date, if you don’t think going on a date with your best friends mom is weird.
Keller couldn’t believe this, she can come to ask Marsha out, but just got beaten to the punch.
Keller: I don’t think it weird, yes Marsha I’ll go out with you.
Marsha: So is tomorrow night to early, if you want to wait.
Keller: No, tomorrow is fine, so should I pick you up or will you pick me up.
Marsha: How about I call you later and tell you where to meet me.
Keller: Okay. that will be fine.
Keller couldn't contain her excitement, as she run out of the room. Marsha went back to her work.
