ENTRANCE + WARDROBE
Entrance Music:
"Gimme the Prize” by Queen
Ring Attire:
Emerald green tights, kneepads, and boots. White wrist tape. When coming to the ring, he wears an emerald green robe, with “Thompson” written across the back in flowing script.
Ring Entrance:
As “Gimme the Prize” by Queen begins to play, smoke begins to obscure the entryway. The first figure to emerge from it is beautiful, curvy, and clad in emerald green where she bothers to wear clothing. With a grandiose gesture to the smoke, another figure emerges.
Ethan Thompson II wears a haughty smile on his face as he links arms with Laila, looking out over the crowd with what can only be called disdain. The pair casually walk towards the ring, climbing up to the apron on opposite sides. Laila slowly peels the robe off of the Emerald Lion, the two engaging in a kiss that can only be deemed “not appropriate for public” before the tattooed beauty slips down to the floor. Properly motivated, Thompson steps between the ropes, posing for his non-adoring public. A quick shadowboxing session later, and he’s ready for combat.
BACKGROUND INFO
Pic Base:
Emmett Skilton
Manager:
Laila
Gimmick:
Former aristocrat of the squared circle turned gritty and surprisingly violent competitor. His father’s death forced him to re-evaluate his life, causing him to drop his “knight of the British Empire” gimmick that both he and his father had used to great success. With his manager/sexfriend Laila (the sort of woman that you desperately want but are too afraid to bring home to your parents) by his side , he’s come to California to prove that he’s still better than you and will happily rub your face in that fact.
Bio:
Born the son of multi-time Australian champion Ethan Thompson, Sr. in Christchurch, New Zealand, Ethan was destined for the ring from an early age. While he played rugby in school and his father had dreams of a career with the All Blacks for his son, by the time Ethan was thirteen he could think of nothing but professional wrestling.
Thompson debuted in the United States for Portland Pro Wrestling, quickly rising up the ranks to become King of the New Year, and challenging for the Crossfire and Rose City Championships unsuccessfully before the promotion’s closure. Alongside his friends and allies, Hunter Thompson, Sophia Pike, and Tyler Hartling, the fearsome foursome had begun to represent Seattle, Hunter/Sophia/Tyler due to it being their hometown, and Ethan because it wasn’t Portland.
As the company closed, Ethan was dealing with his father’s illness. He died two months later due to lung cancer, and a devastated Ethan remained out of the professional wrestling scene, mourning and licking his wounds.
Helping him in this process was Laila, who had taken to hanging around with Tyler and Hunter. After being introduced to Laila, Ethan’s life brightened considerably. Soon, he was ready to make his return - but wanted to ensure that he’d come back better and badder than ever.
With Tyler and Hunter running roughshod over other pastures, Ethan took two months to rework his style in the ring, eliminating some of his more elaborate techniques in favor of a grittier, more smashmouth style.
For Ethan Thompson, the glitz and glamour of California are just another setting to show why the Thompson Dynasty continues as strong as ever, even with old man Thompson in the ground.
