“And I’m supposed to settle for this?” The Crimson Baroness asks in disgust as she gesticulates wildly. “I go out of my way to get the FGA World Champion into an LDFC ring so we can put on a show for these fans-” she even manages to keep a straight face while saying this, “-but somebody has decided this isn’t going to happen…”
The Baroness continues pacing down the hallway as she shakes her head in dismay. The LDFC Apex Tag Team title belt is slung over one shoulder, taking pride of pace in the shot as she speaks again. “Somebody has decided that I don’t deserve to face the FGA World Champion. That I don’t deserve the chance to earn the biggest win of my young career. They want me to settle for this title; for the RISE Championship; for the NKP Tag Team titles; they want me to accept an alternative…” she glares at the camera with a furrowed brow, “…and miss out on the opportunity I deserve.”
There’s a moment of silence as The Baroness contemplates her original plan; she knows full well that Johnny Cannon would probably out wrestle her, but she was prepared to eat that loss for the opportunity afterwards. She was banking on Cannon taking a moment to gloat and celebrate. To stand over her, in the ideal position for a low blow that’d ground him. Then Keegan, Prince MacRear, and her minions would storm the ring and attack Cannon. They’d hold him down while she grabbed her bat and threatened Cannon’s kneecaps; asking what would happen if she lost her cool? And exacting a measure of revenge for what Johnny Cannon did to Chris Bond eight months ago.
But that’ll never happen now…
Now she has to wait until she makes it to FGA, and has worked her way up the pecking order just to get in the ring with him. Even then she may be without her associates.
“And instead of this tremendous opportunity I’m supposed to settle for … Becky?” She scoffs. “At some point I’m going to get tired of batting this little toy about – no pun intended. But I can’t tell which one of us pissed somebody off, sweetie; what have you done lately to deserve this? Was At All Costs not punishment enough for you?”
“Did we go too easy on you at Bound By Honor?”
“Or are you under the impression that things will be different this time? That without the burden of Butt Mason weighing you down you’ll somehow succeed. That without Keegan or Anita to help me, that I’ll somehow fail…” she scoffs again, “…a cage didn’t stop us, what makes you think a singles match will be any different?”
“But it gets worse for you, sweetie. You see, not only is this the night where I should be facing the FGA World Champion, and apparently have to settle for you. But this is the night when The Brat gets another opportunity at the LDFC Apex Championship; in case you’re not keeping track, that’s two attempts for her now.”
“And none for me.”
“I could take consolation in my bounty of championships, or my award for tag team of the year among the World Crown Syndicate. I could be happy that beating me once apparently entitles people to opportunities they otherwise would never be considered for.”
“But I’m not.”
“Call me petty, or vindictive. Or just The Crimson Bitch. But I see one opportunity taken from me. I see another opportunity being presented to my arch nemesis once again. And the only thing I can think of, sweetie, is that soon I get to vent out all of that anger and frustration. To channel my rage in a productive manner … by destroying something beautiful. To ruin something beloved by many. And that. Becky, is my way of saying that on the thirtieth episode of Pride, you’ll be standing across the ring from one very pissed off opponent. One who’s intent on hurting you. On breaking you…”
“So that’s what I’m going to do…” she states as the scene comes to an end.
