Here I am in the unforgiving mountains of Kentucky tracking some dead beat father that spent all his kid’s college tuition for a bag of pills. Guy owes the club some money for them drugs and he hasn’t paid up. So guess who has to go beat the shit out of him and get the money? Yeah, this feller.
I don’t understand why the feller bothered to run. And why he chose these God forsaken mountains to hide from us in. Guess he thought he could just climb up the mountains and this biker gang he bought drugs from would forget all about it...Fucking idiot.
I knelt down and seen his footprints. They’re fresh..I was close. Thank God, because I’m getting sick and tired of being in these woods. Feel like I’m going to get attacked by a bear or some mountain people or whatever.
There he was. He stood at the edge of a cliff. Nowhere else to run. Actually, seeing us up this is crazy. I didn’t think we were up this high.
“Steve, it’s over.”, I said.
“Look I...I’m sorry I..I can’t pay you guys back. I..Please just. Just leave me alone.”. I rolled my eyes when I heard that. Not the first time some poor feller tried to plead for help. Tried to make me turn the other way. “I thought I could pay you back. But I..I tried okay? No one would help me out. I can’t get anymore loans. My wife turned her back on me once she found out what I did. My son won’t even talk to me. Please just leave me alone.”
“I can’t do that Steve. Now c’mon feller. Step off that ledge and let’s go back to the bakery. Get us a bite to eat and find out how you can pay back that debt.”. I stepped forward towards him and he nervously took a step back nearly falling. “Jesus..”. Steve was probably higher than a kite right now and close to falling to his death. “Look Steve if you fall or jump off this cliff and die, this little debt is just going to fall on your family’s lap. It’d be a lot better if you took care of it and not them.”
That might of helped. He took a step away and started bawling his eyes out.

“I know...I know you’re probably looking at me right now while you’re watching this thinking to yourself. ‘Geez, this kid had real potential to be something here in LDFC. What happened to em? It’s like he’s not even all there anymore. Not even focused. What the hell is going on with em? Had a chance to be a champion and completely failed. Sheesh, kid can’t even buy a win lately. He sucks.’
Yeah, I know. I know that’s exactly what it is that’s going through your mind when you lay them eyes on me. Cause really...I’m thinking the same exact thing, feller.
I was off to a good start. I beat that stupid son of a bitch Black at At All Cost and from there I thought...I actually thought I could make a living being a wrestler and be something here. The coaches were all seeing the progress in me. They seen the potential in me. The promise...But...But now? What do they think of me now?
I blew a chance to be the Old North Champion. They took an absolute risk on me by giving me a title shot this early and I blew it. I just...I just blew it. There’s no words to express what was going through my head the moment that bell rang..
I have no one else to blame but myself for letting down my coaches and my friends but more importantly myself…
….Fuck...If only my head wasn’t...Wasn’t somewhere else I...No...No I can’t make any excuses…
I have a shot at some redemption this week as I go on to face a man I’ve been fortunate to become familiar with. The feller that ‘popped my cherry’ or whatever here in LDFC. Had two tough matches against this Malo feller and...It was something that opened my eyes. That made me see that if I want to be anything in this business I have to work harder. And for that..For that I thank you Malo. For that I have the upmost respect for you.
Unfortunately that respect I have for you won’t be coming into play tonight. I need to get this...This stench of guilt out of my system. I need to get all of this crap out of my head. Just sucks it has to be you that has to suffer through it..”
