CHARACTER BACKGROUND
Pic Base:
Phoebe Tonkin
Gimmick:
Strengths:
1. Expert Striking – One of the main benefits of Ryan’s combat background is that she’s very adaptable in-ring. She does an exceptional job of attacking with every part of her limbs, switching up her style often to overcome her opponents. Her kickboxing is top of the line, with Dutch-style strikes that are very hard to come by.
2. Remarkable Athleticism – While Ryan is a very talented wrestler with a wealth of experience, her athleticism might be her strongest attribute. She has a lot of dexterity and nimbleness to her that easily aids her in the ring. Additionally, she’s able to counter hold-for-hold while chain wrestling, it also allows her to pull off neat escapes while keeping her opponents guessing.
3. Student of the Game – As a wrestler she’s ever evolving and trying to expand her horizons by adapting or learning new styles as she goes. She gets better as time passes, she seems like she gets better every match.
4. Highly Competitive – Ryan has a very high motor and sometimes her competitiveness almost seems as if it is a stern egotism. There isn’t anything she won’t do for the win within the rule book; she’s known to go to the ends of the earth to prove her worth. Its lead to her developing a never quit attitude, she’s always trying to breed the best out of her opponents because when she’s at her best, she truly feels alive.
5. Calm Under Pressure – Ryan’s got one of the coolest heads during matches, years of experience help aid her keep a slight focus on what’s going on at all times. If something isn’t exactly going her way she’s very quick to remind, herself, her opponent, and the fans who she really is. Be it a spur of the moment move, or something that really swings the momentum in her favor.
Weaknesses:
1. Slightly Apathetic – At times Ryan is very apathetic in the ring at times. Certain matches she’s in just prove underwhelming and her performances tend to be hindered because of it. She takes wrestling very seriously – it doesn’t always show at times – but she takes everything to heart.
2. History With Injuries – It’s well documented that she’s suffered several injuries throughout her career. The most notable injury she has is the one she’s sustained to her right knee; it’s forced her at times to actually adopt wearing a knee brace. At times it’s the very thing that could slow her down during a match.
3. Goes Out In A Blaze Of Glory - She isn’t exactly keen on taping out and doesn’t exactly know when she’s beat. It doesn’t matter if you’ve bested her, she rather go out in a blaze of glory while taking someone with her than to admit defeat.
4. Tunnel Vision – Another key that could cost her the match is the fact she can lose focus on the task at hand. It often leads to her making mistakes or she appears to be refraining from capitalizing on the mistakes of others. Highhandedly this is the reason she loses matches most of the time.
5. By The Book – Ryan is as respectable and clean as they come. She doesn’t cheat. She refuses to cut corners, because she prefers to beat someone definitively in the ring. She’s always aware of the rules; she also tends to point out discrepancies to the referee. She gets burned by those who are more cutthroat than her, who doesn’t respect the sport for what it truly is.
Bio:
If there was one word to describe Ryan LeCavalier, it would be bemused. Professional Wrestling hadn’t ever seen anything quite like her until she broke out on the scene, and even after fourteen plus years, we still don’t think we’ve seen it all. Simply put, this cold and calculating woman has an appetite for destruction. Hard hitting, loathing, and ego-ridden the self-proclaimed ‘Lost Monarch’ is very hard to come by. Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, the LeCavalier Family has one of the most interesting lineages in wrestling, and so does she as a third generation wrestler. Shortly after her father retired, she got interested in the family craft and began learning the art of professional wrestling at the age of fifteen. Like everything else in life she fell in and out of love with the sport constantly.
In the infancy of her career LeCavalier broke into Japan and furthering her craft. Her response was hit and misses, but working with several promoters and close family friends she began gaining a cult following. She spent most of her career in the limelight, wrestling for several different nation-wide promotions in the span of a couple of years. She would go onto become an up and coming talent in the world of women’s professional wrestling, it continued until she broke into parts of the United Kingdom, and even Mexico. Her influence and style rapidly changed as she began tailoring different aspects of different styles to fit her own.
At some point she began training in Kickboxing and Judo (though she was exposed to both during her youth) – she went on to becoming a champion kick boxer, she also got her black belt in Judo. In her personal life before wrestling and learning martial arts, she attended New York University’s film school where she graduate before she ever stepped between the ropes at the age of twenty-one.
Years of battle hardened competition eventually helped her see her fall from grace, as she sustained a nasty injury serious enough for her to semi-retire for three years. A family friend by the name of Hiroshi Watanabe, a former Pro Wrestler and Judoka in his own right, who tripled as a fierce rival of her father’s from back in the day offered to help he find her stride. Under a two year span he helped retool her for her comeback. At this point she was going through some non-wrestling issues with her then failed marriage to her fiancé.
In the past year has been nothing short of resurgence for her. Not only had he returned to professional wrestling, dominating the ring like never ever before. She crossed over trading in Kickboxing for MMA, signing with the MLC has been an interesting career move on top of staying as active in wrestling as humanly possible. Right now she’s coming off a very impressive debut in MMA; it’s also helped her refocus her priorities for once. Old habits do die hard and it’s even harder when you’re a part of any type of wrestling linage.
Returning to the United Kingdom after being absent for years, Ryan captured a world championship and was at the forefront of a company for several months. As of the company’s latest event she lost her belt after losing sight of what really mattered in wrestling, spending a month outside of wresting she’s refocused. After attending FGA’s All-Star Showdown V to see her friend Fujiko Mine compete, Ryan’s renewed spirit seems to stem from the idea that if she came to Frontier Grappling Arts she’d be met with the challenge that she so desperately craved.

Grappling Style:
1. Hybrid Wrestling - Lecavalier’s style has evolved into a modern hybrid of shoot wrestling and classically trained catch-as-catch-can, multi-faceted striking as a foundation of her attack employing both heavy arm and leg strikes to damage her opponents. There is a fair amount of MMA influence in how she strikes, having learned the Dutch-style of Kickboxing early in her career. She is supremely skilled at wrestling on the mat, using a bevy of holds and counters to keep her opponents guessing, following up the damage done from her striking ability. The mantle of her style happens to be the creative use of strikes into various maneuvers, changing them into something different all together; the smallest move becomes the most effectual. Her submissions and counter throws are vastly underrated, having spent years of rolling on the mats practicing Judo and a few other grappling arts. She likes to take her time while methodically picking opponents apart she’s also no stranger to taking risks when necessary. She follows one philosophy and that’s to use every part of her body to dole out damage. It’s about wrestling a pure style, one that might not be the most exciting at times, where her goal is to earn the respect of the fans while making her opponents quit.

(Visual Aid) Her ring gear is practical, having donned a black fitted top with tight shorts while silver trim accents the attire. She normally accessorizes her attires by doing something with her hair (mostly wearing double French braids in-ring.) She dons on a pair of black knee pads, while wrestling boots are always considered the most important part of a wrestler’s costume, she’s paired her ensemble with a pair of black tight, hard, compressed Isami kick pads that are made of a type of material base that promotes throwing a lots of kicks, underneath she wears a pair of all blacked out Nike Speedsweep VII wrestling shoes. The combination between the two is chunky enough to act as extra padding for any type of traction she may need behind her strikes. Usually she sports white wrist tape on her left wrist and has her right taped from her knuckles to her forearm, it’s normally to support her wrists during joint locks.
During Ring Entrance’s Ryan is well-known for showing support to friends and other wrestlers by wearing their merchandise during entrances. She has worn t-shirts for: (Nina Stokes, Various Kaiser, Fujiko Mine, and Riley Owens) She also sports a Victorian style military jacket that she color coordinates to her attire (Visual Aid). She further accessorizes her entrance attire with aviator sunglasses and wearing dark makeup (mostly lipstick) her nails also usually match her attires.
She has an affinity for coming up with certain concepts that change on PPV so her entrances and attires are always fresh and creative, why not? PPV’s are what matter most.

Ring Entrance:
“Stonefist” By HEALTH’s echoic machine-like tones come echoing their way into the venue. The lights dim down towards complete darkness, as piercing purple strobe lights flood the crowd from the entrance way, smoke bellows from the entrance way into the clearing of the entrance’s opening; intending on sending chills down the spine of those in attendance.
And though we know how far we've come
We stay possessed by what we lost
And we both know, love's not in our hearts
And we both know, love's not in our hearts
And we both know, love's not in our hearts
And we both know, love's not in our hearts
Ryan steps through the curtains into the entrance backwards. She pauses for a second, then turns around revealing a sly smirk and her signature aviator sunglasses that reflect the lighting that flashes in sequences, the entire venue turns a deep purple as she’s strolling to ringside nonchalantly. Ryan reaches out to several fans showing them a bit of appreciation, slapping some of their hands, coming to an abrupt full stop as the ring lies ahead of her.
We're never going backwards
We're never growing young (not in our hearts)
We're never coming back here
Remember, love's not in our hearts
Ryan walks to the front of the crowd running at the apron and sliding onto it, she slowly comes to standing as she brought her arms behind her back before stepping through the ropes effortlessly. Once in the ring walks toward the adjacent set of ropes climbing the turnbuckle, placing one foot on the very top as her other leg supports her standing there. Extending both arms out she poses for the fans that shower her with a mixed reaction that was to be expected. Dropping down from the turnbuckle she readied herself for the opening bell by throwing punches and kicks, warming up her limbs for what should be an interesting contest.
CHARACTER BACKGROUND
Pic Base:
Phoebe Tonkin
Gimmick:
Easily Ryan Lecavalier is one of the best women’s wrestlers in the world today. She’s ranked among some of the greatest of her time both men and women. She’s a third generation wrestler who’s finally broke free of her family’s shadow, where she’s ascended to heights most of them dare to dream. Not only is she a former world champion, but she’s also explored the world of MMA (where she has a budding career.) As a wrestler though, she’s suffered through some interesting times in the past year. Going from imitate high’s to very demoralizing low’s thanks to the type of person she just so happens to be. In reality she’s trying to reinvent herself after a debacle that lasted her two months, being the champion of a small promotion in England. Now that she’s back in the United States she’s trying to establish herself as a premier wrestler once more. Coming from the same school of thought as technical wonders like her friend Riley Owens, and best friend Fujiko Mine; Ryan’s trying to establish a brand of wrestling that’s either been ignored or since then forgotten about.
As a wrestler she respects the sport and respects most of the competitors (unless they don’t respect either her or the sport.) She’s always up for a fight and seems to goat others into matches or at least tries too. Really, she’s trying to bring the best out of her friends and foes. Possessing an optimistic feeling she feels like she’s en route to take her career to the next level, not to mention making wrestling interesting for her again.
