“Tough week,” Peaches sighs as she slumps down into her bean bag chair with a bottle of Corona in hand. Her hair is down, still damp from her recent shower. Her clothing loose and comfortable; a plaid shirt that’s half unbuttoned and some low hanging jeans. “Had it’s ups and it’s downs, you know. ‘Cause I was in Lakeland on Saturday when I got to watch Dan and Cordy become the new FGA World Tag Team Champions…” Peaches smiles, “…and I’ve gotta tell you all that felt amazing.”
“Getting to be that close to the action, and watching as my boyfriend became a champion for the first time. And I ain’t gonna bore you all with the details; I’m sure you watched it and you know what an amazing show All Star Showdown was.”
“But that same night … wait a second, as some of you all know I wrestle for a second company down in Texarkana. Me and my friend Ashleigh formed a tag team, Peaches & Cream-” she laughs again before swigging from her beer, “–that name still tickles me. What’s not funny, though, is what happened to Ashleigh on Saturday night up in Cleveland. ‘Cause my friend, my tag partner got attacked with a bat. Suffered another concussion, and her career prospects ain’t looking too hot right now…”
“But this ain’t about that tag match down in Texarkana. I’ll figure something out about that soon enough, ‘cause time’s running out. But it reminds me of what happened to another of my friends on Saturday; I had to watch on as Annie Ze–-Dupree … gotta get used to that … when she got attacked by The Systemic and their leaders. When Skylar II and III beat two people down after their match was over, just to make a statement. Just ‘cause someone told them to.”
‘“Cause they gave up free will and all that fun stuff when they drank that kool aid,” Peaches shakes her head, “and I ain’t ever gonna understand that. The whole cult thing y’all got going on. It’s just weird, and kinda unnatural.”
“And yeah, I’m judging you.”
“But somehow it’s working for you,” Peaches shakes her head again, “you got your wins against Brute Camp – with a li’l help. And you beat Bueno Club. So I ain’t gonna take nothing away from you both for that. Inside that ring you’re talented, no arguments from me there. It’s one of the reasons I’m looking forward to this match. Why I’m looking forward to teaming with Dat Ass … or Maritza as she likes to be known…” Peaches takes a deep sip of her Corona before clearing her throat, “…so we can take the fight to these two.”
“‘Cause when I think about this match, I’ve got these images in my head of what you did to Annie and Molly on Saturday. Images of what Violence did to Ashleigh, and what happened to her on Saturday night. And at that point I’m real hyped up for this match, ‘cause you’re exactly the type of people I need to be facing. The kinda people who need a swift kick up the ass. And me and Maritza, we’ve got a boot each to either kick those asses, or kick those teeth down your throats.”
“And no, that ain’t make me as bad as you.”
“When I think about how you screwed Brute Camp outta that match the other week, it just pisses me off. You and The Baroness, and that stooge of hers. But I ain’t facing them, I’ve got you. And I’ve gotta face my demons about my bad damn luck in tag matches lately. ‘Cause in 2CW I ain’t had much luck, in Portland I didn’t have that much luck. In Alpha I didn’t have that much luck. Hell, the best run of luck I’ve had in tag matches is being the valet for Status Quo, and I ain’t taking none of the credit for that.”
“But despite what Terry Tillman might think, I’m a wrestler too now. I can’t stand in the corner this week, not when The Systemic are across that ring from us and wanting to make an example of the newcomers. Wanting to continue their streak. And just please their overlord, ‘cause God help ’em if they fail the system. Amirite? Gotta get the carrot and not the stick. Sorry guys, you ain’t getting the carrot this week. Me and Maritza may not have the experience together, or in the ring, but we’ll give you the beating you deserve. See how you like it for a change. See you Thursday.”
