Should be Happy

[Luke Jackson]

Luke Jackson: Hey, Savannah how are you? 

Luke Jackson walks away from his car. He has a black shirt on that is cut off so it shows his muscles. He has black gym shorts on as well and he has a backwards baseball cap on as well. He closes the door of his car and starts to walk towards his house. His movements are slow as he walks towards the house. He starts to walk up the entry steps but stops and turns around and sits on them. He crosses his arms and nods his head.  

Luke Jackson: I should be happy but I’m not. I should be able to look at my tag team title and be happy with what I have. But I look at that title and I realize I want more. I want to prove to people that Ricky and I are on the same level. I get it though I really do man. People see Ricky and they see what he has done in the past so they put him on this pedestal and say that he is the strongest one on the team. They look at me as the lower tier member of the team but in all reality aren’t teams only as good as the weak link is? See the fatal flaw in that is if I am so much weaker then what Ricky is we wouldn’t have the titles. We wouldn’t be the team on top. But we are so how weak am I really? Of course all of the rumblings are there that I can’t win singles matches and when I am in a tag match Ricky builds me up that much. See that is why I am still working hard and that is why in this match against you Savannah I have to beat you. I have to take you to the back of the woodshed and beat you down. Oh does that sound bad? It might but I mean it and I need a victory in this match.  

I’m done being the laughing stock of this company. Be it from my sister or from my singles record. I have to step up some day and why can’t it be in this match? 

He smiles as he scoots up to the next step and sits back down. 

Luke Jackson: I’m not going to like I know how good you are. You have been so close to the Mid-Atlantic Legacy title and that is something to hold your head up high for. You didn’t win but yet you worked your butt off and I can see that talent you have and sooner or later you will hold a title in this company. I can already see it in your eyes already though you want to beat me. You want to take me to the limit and get your hand raised because then people would start talking about you and how you beat one half of the tag team champions. But… 

He holds a finger up and wags it. 

Luke Jackson: …I cannot allow that to happen. 

I have to step my game up I have to go up to that next level. 

He smirks a little bit and nods.  

Luke Jackson: To get to that next level I have to take this match and take you down. I have to prove the fact that yes I might be a tag team champion but in singles competition I can be something to be feared. I want that because I don’t want to be labeled as the partner of Ricky Valero. I want to be put on the same level as him. I want people to look at us and see that we both are pretty damn good and that we aren’t an easy out. Of course I can look at the history of us as a team and I can see that we have always risen to the occasion and we have won. No matter who is out there as a team we can beat them. As a team we can get up to that next level and take anyone on and beat them. That part of my career I am fine with. I can look at Ricky and I can see that him and I are on the same page and all of that. Him and I can bicker back and forth but I know that we are still pretty damn good and that no matter what we will have the back of one another.  

Again though I can’t be talking about a tag team match I have to be on the sole focus of this tag match and beating you Savannah. See you can say what you want about me but you will not get into my head. See, I know that is your game you want guys to be put off by you a little bit. What I mean by that is that yes you have looks and all of that. With those looks people might overlook you because a lot of people think that when you have the looks you don’t have talent in this ring. See people will overlook you because well she has looks she can’t be that good in the ring. You have them all fooled though don’t you? You have looks and you are damn good in that ring so it is kind of a lethal combination right? I cannot overlook you because I know that you will bring the fight to me and you will knock me down and wait until I get up and knock me back down. I will do the same with you I will knock you down and put that sense of doubt into your head. I want to make you realize that this match will not be easy and that you will have to step up your game against me.  

In that same breath though like I have said I have to step my game up. I have to prove why I have a title. I have to prove that I can step up and become a star in this company. That is what I want and that is what I need. I can’t sit in the back anymore and rely on being a tag team champion to help me make a name for myself. I have to put a different spin on myself show that I am not just a one trick pony. Show people that if I ever get out of the tag division that I can be a force.  

He shakes his head and gets up from the step and leans over a railing.  

Luke Jackson: One thing I know to be the truth is that you and I will have a good match Savannah. You and I will walk out there and we will set the arena on fire and make people talk about us. Not because we want to but because we need them to. We need to have our names put on the map a little bit more you had tough luck when you fought for the MAL title and didn’t walk away with it. I know that deep down you want to fight for it again and you want to win it this time. You want to shove it Annie Zellors face that you can beat her and take her title from her. Of course you have to get into the back of the line and fight for your chance at it again. A win against me would move you up a little bit huh? That is what you want and that is what you are looking at me as aren’t you? You want to take me down to have people see you as a force and all of that. Then on the other hand I want to beat you as well.  

It is quite simple I want to beat you because well it would be a good feather in my cap to beat someone like you. If I took you down people would see that I am taking that next step that I am taking out someone that is a pretty good wrestler. Someone that started out on fire here in FGA and hasn’t slowed down. Someone that will always be in the conversation of being a breakout star. Someone that always walks down to the ring and gives the best that they have. See I see right through you, I know that you are good and in some ways you want to hide that. I find it funny that you want to hide that though I could be wrong though, maybe you aren’t hiding it but maybe people overlook you. I will not do that though because I never overlook my opponents because I have been there. People have always overlooked me they have always saw me as the underdog but guess what has happened I have pulled myself away from that underdog feeling. See they might not see me as a threat right now but they know that I am good they know that I will give everything I have all of the time. I just hope you do as well because if not I will run you down.  

Because to be on the next level you have to be good and guess what I am getting better and I am stepping up to that next level I promise you! 

He smiles and winks as he turns around and walks into the house.
