It was getting warmer in North Carolina and Mercy couldn’t be any happier. She donned a one piece body suit that had a print of a lion’s face with light denim short shorts over. Mercy stood outside, soaking in the sun to get her dosage of Vitamin D. Mercy turned her attention to the camera that had just started filming her with a gleaming smile.
“Finally, the weather I’ve been waiting for has arrived. No more sitting around in long sleeve pants and jackets. Time to bring out the cozzies and thongs.”
Mercy winked into the camera knowingly that her fans would appreciate Mercy showing some skin again, not like she covered up too much in the first place. Mercy just hated the constant cold feeling since it was her first American winter she experienced.
“Cozzies and thongs I mean… Swimsuits and flip flops.” Mercy laughed, making sure her words didn’t get lost in translation.
Mercy’s face softened to a more neutral state to begin her LDFC promo. “You know… I’ve been thinking about my recent losses in LDFC. And I must admit, you guys are probably sick and tired of me sprouting my female empowerment lectures. Well, at least my opponent for this upcoming Pride expresses those same sentiments.”
Mercy pouted. “Then again, I am getting sick and tired of explaining why I’m more than just my looks. So whatever, if one wants to base my talent or ‘lack thereof’ wrestling talent due to my appearance, so be it. The whole thing has been deterring me from achieving success in my LDFC career. I need to stop focusing on the most trivial things and focus on my progress.”
Mercy took a deep breath for self-assurance at her last sentence. It was more of a prep talk to herself, since she didn’t want those recent losses to hinder her growth as a wrestler.
“This brings me to my match at Pride against Butcher. I understand that Butcher is a formidable opponent in LDFC. He’s more of a fighter more than anything with his mean streak. When it comes to it, we both come from two completely different worlds. He lived a brash life, never having the support from a loving family. He kicked and clawed to get somewhere in life by achieving that dream of becoming a wrestler. Now that’s very inspiring, believe it or not.”
“But, am I worried about getting into the ring with Butcher? Well I can’t say I’m not. This will be more of a fight than a wrestling match for me. Butcher is like a caged animal and it’s up to me to be his cage master when I get into the ring with him. Like, I’m Australian, I should know a thing or two about taming wild animals, bloody hell.”
Mercy let out a light chuckle over her joke.
“You can rest assure that I’ll bring my ass into that ring Butcher. But you know, I’m not here to become Butcher’s friend, but if some crazy miracle I defeat him. Maybe, just maybe we can get together and have ourselves a drinking contest. Because if you didn’t know, Australian’s are infamously known for their excess drinking…. I’m happy to try any beer, so I’m up for the challenge or any kind of challenge for that matter.”
Mercy smiled softly, resting her hands on her hips.
“Butcher is one those guys who has been in LDFC since the beginning and to finally that opportunity to get in the ring with him is something I won’t take for granted. I’m expecting the biggest fight of my life. He’s a tough S.O.B and I don’t expect anything less from that man. See you out there Butcher… Have Mercy.”
Mercy ended her promo, inching her prada sunglasses down, so she could raise an eyebrow.
