“What a night,” Peaches enthuses from her seated position atop a hotel room bed in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Wearing an FGA baseball cap, a black and white hooped crop top and some jean shorts, Peaches is smiling broadly as she continues. “Getting that up close look at Status Quo in their semi final match was awesome!”
“And I know that’s how some fans know me, or recognize me, or whatever. But that’s ok, ‘cause I spent the better part of a year as eye candy for my boyfriend, Dan Herrera–” Peaches turns her head towards the bathroom, “–he’s in the shower at the moment though, so he can’t hi or nothing. Busy night and all that.” She winks at the camera.
“But this week I’ve got a coupla new starts for myself. On Wednesday I’m down in Texarkana for my Twin City Wrestling debut as part of ‘Peaches and Cream’ with my friend Ashleigh Powell. But then on Thursday I’m ready to start my own career here in LDFC!” She nods her head, a goofy grin spread across her face as she does so.
“Aww yeah.”
“And I’ve got one helluva debut ain’t I?! The Strong Style Saviour, Shintaro Majima,” Peaches emphasises the name, “and I ain’t gonna lie, I’m a li’l nervous ‘bout this one.”
“I know some of you only know me as the valet for Dan Herrera, but I’ve been wrestling myself over in Portland Pro for a coupla months–” Peaches rolls her eyes, “–until we all got put on furlough. Turns out the asshole boss who made me wrestle in a light tube match, or came up with ideas like the Parade of Fools matches, wasn’t the biggest asshole on the board of directors.”
“Kinda why I’m here, you know. It’s a little closer to home, it’s a chance to get back to FGA as more than an eye candy role. And the first step I’ve gotta take is tryna beat Majima!”
“I’ve faced people like him before; the hard hitting, hard headed, no nonsense sons of bitches. Even got me a coupla wins over them types before too. But I’ve been watching LDFC for a while and I know Majima ain’t exactly like those guys I’ve fought before. He might not hit as hard as people like Majima or Sue, but I ain’t gonna count him out just ‘cause of that.”
“‘Cause I know Majima’s got one thing those guys never had,” Peaches pauses, “and that’s a point to prove. Over the last few - months, is it? We’ve all watched Shin’s star begin to fade, you know. From when he was feared and one of the toughest sons of bitches in LDFC, to when Skylar Cloud is mocking his nickname. Or he’s struggling to put away the newcomers – people just like me.” Peaches winks at the camera.
“I dunno if it’s complacency or what, but I doubt Shin’s gonna wanna be on the losing end of my debut match here. I doubt he’s gonna wanna have one more thing we can all hang over his head like that – losing to a valet?! You’re too proud for that ain’t you, Shin? A bit of eye candy like myself ain’t gonna get one over on a proud warrior. But there’s only one way to found out for sure, you know that, and that’s when we settle this in the ring on Thursday. ‘Cause as much as you don’t wanna be on the losing end of my debut match, I ain’t about to lose my first match in front of these LDFC fans. I didn’t come through that training camp to fall at the first hurdle, so get ready for me, Shin. I’m coming for you!”
