Patience means restraining one's inclinations

As we look through the motel room window, we can see the bright sunshine that the residents of Winston-Salem are making the most of on this fine, warm day - yet there is one person in Winston-Salem who is not in a sunny mood, and that man is Shintaro Majima. Instead of taking in the warmth of the day's weather, instead he is sat on the edge of his motel room bed not even looking towards the window to see the glorious weather, instead his eyes are fixed on his phone as he watches the final moments of his most match, the Apex Tag Team Tournament match against The Crimson Baroness and Prince MacRear
At a certain point, he stops watching the match and his eyes slowly rotate upwards to meet the camera, before his head slowly lifts so he is looking the camera dead-on
It is one thing to feel disappointment, because that is something that comes with living. Everyone has hopes and dreams, yet most people will experience life closing one door after another until they are told what their hopes and dreams are, not by aspiration but by elimination. Some people may say their life is everything they dreamed it would be, but there will always be something they hoped for that did not come to pass. That is life.
Running his fingers through his untied hair, Majima sweeps it out of his eyes
It is quite another when somebody spells out the disappointment you have faced, yet rather than prove them wrong you add more disappointment. That is what happened the last time I set foot in the ring, where I could have showed The Crimson Baroness she was little more than words, and yet that did not happen. This is the kind of disappointment that hurts, as it is the disappointment that could so easily have been avoided – and yet there is another reason it hurts, as it is a disappointment I have felt all too often of late.
Deep in thought, Majima tilts his head towards the ceiling and places his palms together under his chin as he formulates an idea in his head – and when he finishes the idea, he slowly tilts his head back down to face the camera
What hurts almost as much as this disappointment is when my opponents start to think less of you, so rather than walking to the ring with a feeling of dread increase with every step because they know they are entering the ring against the hardest striker in Lion’s Den, now they feel they can make jokes. Does this not sound a lot like what Echo Rigby has said about me?
Majima waits for a beat, allowing the last comment hang in the air, before he continues
What she fails to understand is that for her to preach peace and love, there needs to be war and hate in order to give balance to the universe. If there was no war or hate, would people know what peace and love were? The contrast is more important than the idea.
Contrast is always important, as this match itself proves. On one side of the ring there is the hopeless optimist who has hopes and dreams that all seem so open to her, on the other side of the ring is the warrior who has endured disappointment that has damaged both his reputation and honour. Looking at this contrast, it is clear that the competitor who needs the victory will fight the hardest, as their path has become obscured and they need clarity. Peace and love will not allow them to find their path, instead their path will be found only through the fires and steel of battle. This is where Echo Rigby does not see all that is before her, because there are so many doors which are open she cannot take in all the information, and those doors need to be slammed shut when we meet in the ring.
There is just one way to stop people thinking lightly of me, and that is to show what happens to people who think they can make jokes and doubt what I am more than capable of within the ring. I do not need to perform miracles when I face Echo Rigby, I need to see that look in her eyes the second before she is defeated telling me that she finally understands that I have saved her from herself. Nobody else will see it, they will be distracted by her resistance being crushed as I return to the path I am on, but the look in her eye will exist and I expect to see it.
