"Sara Cochran @sarawrestles Mar 27
@fgawrestling must just be saving me for last! =)
Right Paco?
Right?
Ehehehehhh"
Sara had forced out virtually the exact same stifled laugh as the one she tweeted. She was truly trying to keep good spirits, not be paranoid, and be a good sport while others who had more tenure in FGA go announced. But she couldn't, there was this niggling little voice in her head saying that maybe she wasn't going to be in the Rumble. Then what? She would have planned out the timing of her comeback meticulously, all for nothing? No, no, no, that wouldn't be any good.
Her eye twitched as she gripped her phone tighter; she just didn't understand why Paco or whoever was pulling his strings had to screw with her like this. Maybe they thought it was funny, announce the participants bit by bit to make the new people sweat, some kind of hazing rite of passage. Well she didn't find it funny, not at all. Worst of all she was getting thrown to the wolves against Noelle Smith in the meantime. She had to fight her in Philly, where Noelle had worked as part of PDW. Those bloodthirsty fans would probably be calling for Smith to go postal on her as some sort of sick 'revenge' for Sara's little joke about her being a vegatable. The same type of animalistic display as when Noelle had put Neon's head through a car windshield, or was it hood? Can you even put someone's head through a hood? Probably not, but it didn't matter, she was a violent, dangerous person was the point.
It was clear she needed to focus on the task at hand, tough as it would be. She tried to control her breathing, as much as she wanted to freak out about what bullcrap this was. It was time to be the bigger person, and rise above the hate. To be the ambassador for this industry she was meant to be; clearly that was why things had turned out the way they did, why she ended up back in a ring -- Sara had a gift she had to share with the downtrodden people. With a short nod of her head, she did her best to focus on April 7th, and the violent hoodlum she'd have to survive if she was even going to make it to the Rumble.

Hey hey heeyyyy everybody!
It's me, Sara, and I'm ready to get back to action! Maybe not as ready as I'm sure all you great FGA fans are to see me again after my show off, but as ready as I can be! =)
Sorry, show off really isn't the best way to put that. Because I couldn't be at the last Vertigo due to prior obligations, but I certainly wasn't slacking. Ensuring a bright future for this country's less fortunate otters is one of those problems that flies under the radar, but an important one nonetheless. And I'd made a commitment to do my small part in helping solve, and spread awareness of it, so I wasn't going to go back on my word. I mean, yes, I knew I had this obligation when I signed here with FGA, and could have waited a little bit until my schedule was free so I could hit the ground running. Buuuuttt there was a method to it, I wanted to get back in the ring, in shape and work off any rust before one of the biggest events of the pro wrestling calendar year -- The Gold Rush Rumble!!! (Which I still haven't been announced for, but all in due time I'm sure!) =)
I didn't want to make my return to wrestling at that event, or heaven forbid, after it. It was important to me that I saw where I stood among this roster of darn awesome grapplers before that time. That I was able to assess myself, see where I was versus where I used to be as a performer, and adjust accordingly. I mean this is one of the opportunities for any competitor. Even if the odds are low, nobody in their right mind wants to sit at home after thinking they could have done more, letting that eat away at them for a whole year.
The first step in readying myself was so far so good! I mean, Big Match Vex's record isn't the best these days and he might have lost a step, but he's still a veteran of the squared circle who will absolutely test you as a competitor. He knows all the tricks of the trade, and I think our great fans in Boston knew that. Heck, they were kind of quiet for me at points -- maybe because of the Seahawks color scheme on my gear -- but I get that! Because they're great fans, real wrestling fans who know that Chris Vector is a walking encyclopedia of wrestling knowledge who has walked the walk time and time again over the years, even if he doesn't do so much as far as talking the talk now!
So. I've had a few weeks to reflect in between my community service, and giving back to the fans of this great industry. I've seen what I could have done better, and I'm feeling in a pretty darn good place. Which is good, because I've got a real test ahead of me! Noelle Smith, former Mid-Atlantic Legacy Champion, sister of the Frontier Lion's Cup runner up Ruby Smith! You see what she's done, her great rivalry she had with Fujiko Mine who herself is on the rise now, and she's a stiff test for anyone. Never been to the top, but there's no shame in that. A gatekeeper in a great promotion is still better than 98% of the wrestlers out there, and will absolutely expose you if you don't belong with the best, or knock you off if you take them lightly. Heck, I'd go as far as saying they're the real glue that holds a company together!
I know she's gonna lay it all on the line, we saw how much pain she'll fight through, and how many injuries she's willing to pile up in her challenge for the Pride Championship. But at the same time, I'm sure she has to know how focused I am. This is big for me, I can cement myself here in FGA by beating a former titleholder, and one of the first people announced for the Gold Rush Rumble this year. I may have made a little joke that the backstage interview crew decided to blow out of proportion, but I absolutely take her seriously.
Good luck to her, but I want everyone to know that at the end of the night, people are gonna be talking a heck of a lot more about Sara Cochran! =)
