Winning Ways

Sitting in front of Emily Carter in all its glory was one of the three Titans of Trios trophies. 24 hours had passed, but the young upstart was still in disbelief over the win. Wrestling for SSWA was always great. The sights and sounds were lovely. Mingling with the SSWA mainstays was a great way to network. And being able to wrestle in front of thousands of people in the UK was an invaluable experience. But when it came to accolades, these guest tours didn’t bare any fruit. Emily failed to capture the UK or the Young Guns Cups during her two previous guest trips. And even though she had two talented partners, there was still lingering doubt. Thoughts of failure crept in the back of her mind. What would happen if they were one and done? Or even worse, what is she screwed up and lost because of her? If Emily went 0-3 in another SSWA tournament, it’d be a blow to her confidence. She would end up feeling like she’d let her friends down. Not to mention, the sophomoric taunting from a certain LDFC trainee would become even more eyeroll inducing than it already was.
Thankfully, those thoughts remained just that: thoughts. Somehow, Emily was able to secure the win in the Finals. But she didn’t do this alone. None one could have. So major credit has to go to two of the best partners a girl could ask for: Annie Zellor and Molly Reid. To say that Emily was intimidated would be an understatement. Annie and Molly are pretty big deals in wrestling. So having the opportunity to tag with two of the biggest names in the industry was definitely an honor. It was also something she didn’t take for granted. Emily might be the oldest of the three. But she was definitely the least experienced when it came to wrestling. So she studied the way they moved around the ring with grace. She listening intently to every life lesson and trade secret they share with her. Over the course of two weeks, the trio didn’t just form a cohesive unit, but a winning one as well.
Emily’s hoping to bring those winning ways with her back to LDFC. But after the events that happened at last night’s Cancun Clash, she knows she won’t be the only one bringing a winning attitude back to LDFC.

‘Oh hi, babes! Emily Carter here and if it looks like I’m in good spirits, there’s a good reason for that. Recently Annie Zellor, Molly Reid and myself participated in SSWA’s Titans of Trios Tournament. And after three grueling matches, the three of us were able to win the whole thing. I can’t begin to thank Annie and Molly for such an amazing experience… thus far. Because we’re not done yet! First we won the tournament. Now, we’re coming for those belts!”
“Which transitions perfectly over to LDFC, because there are a pair of belts that me and my partner have our eyes on. Winning the Carolina Cup and the Trios Tournament were great. But you know what? I think I’m in the mood to start winning some titles, too.”
“But the APEX Tag Team Titles are still two matches away. To even get to the finals, Jensen and I have to go through Becky and Mason Mannion.”
“I can’t begin to tell you how much I respect you guys. Especially you, Becky. I can remember the first day you walked through those doors. I heard the snickering. I heard the dismissive comments...
“What’s some cheerleader doing here?”
“Pfft, how long do you think she’s gonna last.”
“Well, judging by the fact that you graduated all the way to the Advanced Class, I think it’s safe to say that you’ve be able to weather the storm. Men and women have come into LDFC with all sorts of resumés. They were star athletes. They were second-generation. People that, on paper, should have made it straight to the top. But you made it farther than all of them. That speaks to your toughness, Becky. That speaks to your drive. You’ve never been one to crack under pressure. And that’s great…”
“The thing is, we aren’t banking on you to crumble under the pressure. We’re not banking on #BruteCamp to make a mistake. We plan on advancing by simply beating you to the punch or beating you into submission. I respect the heck out of you guys. And given the alternatives, if we can’t win this tournament, I’d want you guys to. But that’s not gonna happen because at Pride, we’re gonna take care of business.
And that’s by giving you both a Five Star tour of #BankShotCity
