(OOC: Word Count 702)
----
Skylar is sitting in a chair with a high backrest, and a fireplace crackling behind her. The Old North Championship belt is of course strapped around her waist, but she's not wearing her usual get up. Instead, she is clad in what appears to be an awkward cosplay of Abe Lincoln, complete with hat and fake beard.
"Well hey there everybody! I hope all my Skylights are enjoying a glorious day 109 of my reign as Champion of the Northern Hemisphere!"
In attempting to flash a toothy grin, the beard starts to fall off, and she has to fix it.
"You know, it's kind of funny isn't it? It's the same old song and dance, every time someone has some little hole to try to poke in my success. Oh Helen Klein's girl got involved, I would've won the battle royal instead of you if Helen hadn't thrown me out, you let me do all the work in the battle royal. But do you know what's great about that -- nothing they say to that effect matters!"
She takes a moment to let that set in.
"Because I keep getting the job done, and then I keep triumphing again over the same people. One time is lucky, but darn it, several times is a pattern! There's a couple sayings: One is that luck is the residue of design, and second is that history is written by the winners. Imagine if the North had lost the Civil War! Honest Abe's Emancipation Proclamation might be seen a bit different in the history books. But luckily I am a winner, which means I have the spotlight I need to educate all the unwashed masses in the Lion's Den! Because gosh, golly, they sure need my help!"
Skylar pumps her arm.
"Part of Reaching for the Skylar, part of learning, is taking accountability for your actions. If I remember correct, Mammary Williams is the one who provoked Helen's girl into making Mams distract herself, as payback for her having come to ringside for Helen's match. The only person who has prevented her from having a level playing field is her, and the only person who was hurt by that distraction is me because everyone else's drama keeps finding a way to cast a shroud on my hard fought victories!"
A light sigh.
"Bless her heart, she hasn't learned to see the bigger picture like I do, her only concern is herself, and how people see her. She's so wrapped up every single time she goes out there about being judged on her titty size, she can't see when she's giving people other reasons not to take her seriously! For someone who tries to be the squeaky clean good girl, she has been remarkably flippant about Helen getting mauled and having his career here ended by a rugged beardsman with a steel chair. She already won, she already broke his spirit, if there was any time to show the Mercy she loves to make puns about, now would be the time! While he's shriveled up, likely hooked to a life support machine. But alas, she still has too much to learn. Much like everyone here has much to learn. She can say she's working hard to get better all she wants, she can even get promoted to the intermediate class! But she's nevre going to truly learn what she's taught, unti I, Skylar Cloud the Strongest Style Savior, teach her how to learn. And rest assured, I will turn her from a lump of coal to a shiny diamond when it's all said and done!
I made a proclamation that some people laughed at when I laid out my goals for this year, but so far I've kept my word, making me the most honest person here! All these little cubs need me to beat Mams, they need me to teach her a lesson about just how far she has to go if she's not going to embarrass this whole Lion's Den fighting for the Carolina Cup, they need me to keep increasing my spotlight so I can illuminate them all, and then they can all ..."
She pauses for dramatic effect.
"Reach for the Skylar!"
Fin.
