"Annie Zellor fan, huh? Been a lot of you tonight," Sara exclaimed as she finished signing the young woman's program. She handed the autographed piece of paper back to the fan who accepted it, albeit with the most forced of polite smiles, "Big Bad Annie Z! Ha, good stuff! But hopefully I'll be moving to the front of your list once I get back in the --" Her voice trailed off as she realized the woman was no longer in sight, having disappeared into the sea of humanity making their way into the Ricoh Coliseum. She darted her eyes back and forth to see if she could spot her again, but to no avail. It was enough to remove the smile from her previously beaming visage. "Watch it buddy, " a gruff voice barked out as Sara got bumped into from behind.
She braced herself, grabbing her knee so she didn't fall over, all the while growing increasingly displeased with what was transpiring around her. First off, she thought Canadians were supposed to be friendly , secondly there were a lot more people at this show than she expected. It was really making it hard to execute a grassroots pre-show meet and greet campaign to ingratiate herself to the FGA fanbase when she had to fight simply to avoid being swallowed up in the mass of humanity which surrounded her. She drew in a breath of air, before exhaling sharply, while pushing herself upright and forcing herself to plaster that grin back on her face -- she couldn't let these people ruin her attempt to show how much she loved them.
Maneuvering through the crowd, she found an outstretched hand to shake, "Enjoy the show! Looks it's gonna be a good one!" She felt their fingers slip out of her grasp at a speed which was actually quite rapid in real time, but felt like an eternity in her head. Finally, she craned her neck around before she spotted a little boy about ten or eleven years old with his parents. She deftly snaked around some other fans heading towards the arena entrance, squatting down to eye level with the kid, "Hey there! You're a big FGA fan, huh? Is this your first show?" The kid nodded his head, his sandy haired bowl cut bobbing slightly as he did, "Awesome! Well this is my first show too, well first FGA show that is. I'm gonna be starting here really soon! " Sara informed him, ignoring the kid's parents who were doing their best to hide their consternation over this uncomfortable meeting.
"You're a wrestler!?" The young fan's eyes widened a bit in surprise as he tried to digest that information. Sara forced a strained chuckle before answering, "I sure am!" She stopped to address the parents, not bothering to actually look up at them, "Ha, he must be a new fan, I'm sure you both know me. But anyways, what's your name?"
"Bryson."
"Well Bryson," she placed a hand on his shoulder, "Since you got to meet a real live wrestler in person, I am gonna make your day. Ask me any question you want!" He crinkled his nose in thought before blurting out," Why did you want to be a wrestler?" Sara bit her lip -- hard -- blinking twice before the smile returned to her face, "That's easy, because it's what I love."

Heeeyyyy there! It's Sara Cochran, I heard you were gonna be in town for the FGA show, so I wanted to give you the first chance at the scoop -- your site always treated me fair. I'm gonna there at the show, hit me back for details when and where. But like, I figure you can catch me with shaky cam footage, break the news. Just um ... can you make sure you catch me signing autographs and all that, make me look good? Like, just clip out any of the bad parts before you upload it; pregnant pauses, anything that doesn't seem natural or like people are having a good time. You know how it is, live action is easy to take out of context --- thaaanksss!

Hello my friend(s) we meet again!
(Sorry, I had just had to work that in since it's my opponent's theme, I'm terrible I know!)
Welcome back everyone who read these little blogs of mine before, and welcome to the party FGA fans who might be checking me out for the first time! I can't lie, I'm super pumped up and jacked to be returning to the ring after some time away. No need to really get into details of why I was gone, what's important is that I'm back, refreshed and ready to get back to doing what I love. And legit, I can't think of a place I'd rather be doing it than right here in FGA! =)
I know, I'm sure all the new girls say that, but bear with me for a little story. Back when I was first starting out a few years ago, I remember working the small venues, setting up and breaking down the ring -- passing out flyers. There was something great about that, the intimacy of being so close to the fans, and then going out there to have it be about wrestling. I thought my goal was to get to the big worldwide touring companies, but it really wasn't what I thought it would be. All the pyro, ballyhoo, the huge venues, it was more of a gossip show than a sport if you ask me! So when I took my time away to reflect, I realized just how much I missed actually wrestling and how much I missed being able to feel the fans around me.
Don't get me wrong, I know FGA is a growing company with some of the best wrestlers in the World and isn't running High School gyms, but at the same time it's nice to be in a place that just has a smoke machine and a curtain! It's nice to be in a place that's running Agganis instead of TD Garden when it comes to Boston. I mean I wasn't going to go back to tiny companies, I've put in a little too much work for that. But all the same, I needed all that extra silliness stripped away, I needed to remember why I fell in love with this sport, to have the fans close enough to really feel their energy! Because like, I feel a connection with all of you, I know you're a whole giant collective, but it's like you're also a close personal friend I can talk real to. That's why I feel so comfortable being conversational, and joking around sometimes in these blogs about my matches. =)
Speaking of, what a way to come back to the ring, huh? Kicking off the show, and against a 23 year vet of the biz at that! Big Match Vex: Chris Vector! You know, my first trainer said something that stuck with me. He said that after the main event, the most important match on the show is the opener. Because you're setting the tone for the rest of the show, you can either energize the crowd and make everyone in the back feel challenged to top what you just did, or you can bring the energy down. Rest assured, I'm planning on doing the first one, and I can't think of a better opponent to tear the hizzy down with than someone who's done and seen it all! I mean sure, I think his first match might've been shorter than his ring entrance -- Aries Reed did a real number on him. But I know that wasn't the real Chris Vector, ring rust is a real thing! Besides, when you've been around that long, you know it's not the losses that define you it's how you bounce back. I've been in the ring with enough veterans to know they're always a tough out.
Heck, I might be the one with ring rust out there. I've busted my butt to get back in ring shape, so I can put on a show, and pick up a big win, but gym shape and ring shape are different. There's a very good chance I'll be the one in the same position Big Match Vex was! I mean, except half his age, and I don't think the company is called "FGW".
JK! JK!
Sorry big guy, just had to bust your chops a bit there for that goof. Totally understandable though, when you've been kicking butt and taking names for over two decades, sometimes they blend together. If we can't joke around, and spread some good vibes, what are we doing? But seriously, I know that's a challenge in front of me, in addition to the challenge my opponent's going to bring. I look forward to it though, because getting pushed brings out the best in me. So Chris, I respect your legacy in this ring, but you can expect my very best, and I know when I bring that I can walk out with the "W" against anyone! See you soon! =)

"I just ... I just don't get it!" Sara wiped a tear from her eye, "You said you loved me Colin, and now you've just tossed me aside like a piece of wet garbage!" Sniffling, she threw the back of her forearm up, pressing it to her forehead while leaning back slightly. She then leaned forward, asking with pleading eyes, "Just tell me honestly, why is it you think it is okay to treat me like this? What did I ever do to --"
Sara's theatrics were interrupted mid-sentence with an unimpressed, "Okay, thank you, we've heard enough." She blinked, surveying the nonplussed panel at the casting table. Her voice cracked as she begged, "Wait, wait, I can do better!"
"We'll let you know how you did," the salt and pepper haired casting director informed her.
"What does that mean?"
"We'll let you know, thanks for your time."
"Please, just give me a straight answer. I ... really, really need this. I can't go back to --"
He threw his arms up in response, "It's a miracle, I almost believed what you said there. Listen kid, I was trying to be polite about it. But, the deal is I only agreed to hear your audition because your agent's a friend of mine. I wish you all the best, but you can't act; I think you should really consider going back to the wrestling thing."
Silence permeated the air; Sara pressed her lips together until they started to turn white. Finally, she gave the shortest of nods before turning to make her exit. As her back turned, her left eye twitched; this wasn't over, not by a long shot.
