Johnny Cannon vs. Fujiko Mine
A short electro-pop beat hits the arena, and the lights plunge to a deep purple The crowd cheers in response.
“MONEY!”Shouts a feminine electronic voice, and a split second later the beat of “Money” by Lido drops. Fujiko leaps through the curtain as if propelled forward by a slingshot; Jumping into the air and whipping her head forward. Her hair flows through the air around her head, and when she lands she has a large grin on her face. Blue, yellow, and pink lights dance around the arena. She takes a few steps to position herself on the ramp, and then poses cutely as a few fans throw blue and yellow streamers around her on the ramp.
J.A. Aldridge: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, now residing out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin! Weighing in at 140 pounds! She is “LADY LUCK” FUJIKO MINE!
She begins bobbing her head to the music for a moment before posing. She high fives some of the fans that have their hands outstretched, still smiling. Once she reaches ringside, Fujiko leaps onto the apron from the floor, balancing with one foot for a moment. She jumps from the apron to the top turnbuckle, and stabilizes herself a second before throwing her hands up in the air, and throwing her head back. Fans throw more blue & yellow streamers around her, which are quickly removed by ringside personnel. Fujiko points at the Ball & glove logo on her attire, then hops down. She then bounces on her heels, ready to start the match.
Kris Cruise: Fujiko Mine had a lot to say about her opponent in the lead up to this match.
Stephy Auger: Yeah, she questioned the authenticity of Cannon’s “Last Real Man” moniker. She gave out a series of examples which, looking at things objectively, would make you question Cannon’s claim. But the war of words aside, this is a big match for Fujiko. Cannon is a big test for her. He’s one of the best strikers, if not the best striker in FGA. Plus the man is world renown in two separates sports. A win here tonight will not only keep her momentum rolling, but it’d be another notch on her belt.
Kris Cruise: Despite the challenge that lays ahead in the ring, you’ve got to imagine that Jimmy Page is still in the back of her month. That encounter between those two was something else tonight.
Stephy Auger: Oh yeah! Fujiko walked right up to the “King of the F’n World” and let him know that she’s not backing down from him. He tried to scare her off with warnings a few weeks back. They didn’t fall on deaf ears. She just didn’t care for them. She told Page that when they face off, she’s going to deny him the pleasure of hurting her. I applaud her courage. But this is Page we’re talking about here. I’m not sure if this is a good idea.
A yellow spotlight suddenly shines down across the black curtain of the entrance way, whilst the house lights begin to dim down. Slowly, almost in unison with the change in lightning does "Voodoo Child" (Jimi Hendrix" Cover) by Brick + Mortar begins to play. A small ebb of yellow smoke ascends from the ventilators to grace the ramp. The Brit's silhouette emerges behind the curtain, only backed by another daintier image.
"well i stand up next to a mountain
well i stand up next to a mountain
well i pick up all the pieces
maybe even make
maybe make a little sense"
Finally, bursting through the curtain emerges "The British Mamba", Johnny Cannon. The Englishman stands before the live audience in all his strapping glory; as per usual, his cocksure, megalomaniacal grin is etched on his face as he pauses on the ramp, his head raised high and snobbishly to the sky above as he surveys the masses. Standing just behind him is none other than Quinn Goodrich, who edges on the crowd to incite their scorn. Wearing yellow and black MMA style trunks, with matching boots and a black knee brace (on his left knee), the Brit appears ready for action - not due to his attire, but due to the belligerent look in his eyes which is only revealed as he removes his Aviator Sunglasses. His eyes are those of a cold, and calculating individual. Johnny places his shades in his black track jacket with numerous insignias sewn on it, and begins his haughty strut to the ring.
"well i stand up next to a mountain
and i chop it down with the edge of my hand
well i stand up next to a mountain
and i struck it down with the edge of my hand
cause I'm a voodoo child"
J.A. Aldridge: And her opponent, being accompanied to the ring by Quinn Goodrich! From London, England! Weighing in at 245 pounds! He is “THE BRITISH MAMBA” JOHNNY CANNON!
Cannon struts to the ring, marching with an undeniable swagger, whilst Quinn continues to taunt the audience, by swinging his arms up, and shouting whatever obscene remarks he can think of. Johnny ignores the audience on either side of him, showing complete indifference towards their opinions. He spurts forward toward the ring, and slides in under the bottom rope, before launching himself to his feet and suddenly spinning to the center of the ring in a very Shawn Michaels-esque fashion, before positioning himself carefully in the middle. He unzips his track jacket, lowering it down his hands and to the canvas below him like a male stripper, before throwing up the offensive, British, two finger salute, eliciting tremendous heat from the crowd.
"lord knows I'm a voodoo child
cause I'm a voodoo child"
From there, Johnny slowly backs into the ropes, hooking his arms back on them before bouncing several times, beginning his mental preparations and prerequisites as Quinn looks on from ringside; Cannon nods his head several times, as his eyes flicker with a hundred different ideas and strategies to carry out in the match.
Kris Cruise: Cannon didn’t end the year in the way that he envisioned he would. Not only did he close out the year with a loss to Chris Bond, but he also got into a scuffle with Johnny Karma that resulted in Cherry Baum getting stricken across the face.
Stephy Auger: Cannon claims it was an accident. But I don’t think that Karma cares if it was an accident or not. Those two have been tied at the hip since Karma’s arrival in FGA. Karma’s been in a lot of heated battles throughout his time here. But to my knowledge, no one has ever hit her until Cannon did two weeks. You know that isn’t going to sit well with Karma.
Kris Cruise: No it won’t. With Karma being advertised for tonight’s show, it wouldn’t shock me if the Battle Royal God made his presence felt at ringside.
The bell sounds as Cannon and Fujiko start things out with a collar & elbow tie up. Cannon quickly gains the advantage with a side headlock. But Fujiko is able to slip out and reverse into a hammerlock from behind. Cannon’s able to lean forward and reverse into a hammerlock of his own. But Fujiko quickly elbows him in the face before reversing into another hammerlock. Cannon then reaches back, grabs Fujiko, snapmares her over and delivers a stiff kick to the back. He then reaches down, picks up Fujiko and places her in a side headlock. He cinches in the hold, causing Fujiko to let out a groan. The ref asks Fujiko if she wants to give up. But Fujiko refuses to quit. She then slowly begins to push up on Cannon’s arms, removing it from around her neck. But Cannon quickly pushes back down, reapplying the side headlock. She tries to shove Cannon off of her. But Cannon quickly drops down to one knee. After Fujiko battles back to her feet, she’s able to slip out and reverse into another hammerlock. But Cannon leans forward and reverses into a hammerlock of his own. Fujiko then reaches back, grabs Cannon and brings him down with a jumping snapmare. While Cannon’s seated, Fujiko nails him with a stiff kick to the back of her own.
After gritting his teeth, Cannon slaps the canvas before turning over and getting back to his feet. The two grapplers circling the ring before locking up. Cannon quickly gains the advantage with an arm wrench. But Fujiko’s able to reverse into an arm wrench of her own. Cannon then rolls forward, turns over onto his knees, flips over with a headstand and reverses into an arm wrench. Fujiko responds by rolling forward, leaning back, kipping up and reversing into an arm wrench of her own. After gritting his teeth, Cannon cartwheels over and reverses into an arm wrench of his own. The ref asks Fujiko if she wants to give up. But Fujiko refuses. She then runs into the ropes and counters with a springboard arm drag. Cannon gets back to his feet, but Fujiko brings him down with a drop toe hold, rolls across his back and applies a grounded hammerlock.
Kris Cruise: After a bit of a stalemate to start things off, it’s Fujiko that has the advantage with Cannon on the ground.
Stephy Auger: Fujiko definitely has the speed advantage over Cannon. But keeps Cannon off his feet isn’t a bad strategy, either. He’s knocked out opponent after opponent with that Roundhouse Kick.
The ref asks Cannon if he wants to give up. But Cannon refuses. So Fujiko delivers a handstand into a falling knee drop across the hammerlocked arm. Cannon lets out a grunt upon impact. The ref asks him if he wants to give up. When Cannon refuses, Fujiko delivers another handstand into a falling knee drop.
The ref asks Cannon if he wants to give up. But again, Cannon refuses. After battling his way back to his feet, he quickly reaches back with his free arm and reverses into a side headlock. Fujiko then shoves Cannon off of her and into the ropes. When Cannon comes back, he knocks her down with a running shoulder block. He then takes off into another set of ropes as Fujiko gets back to her feet with a kip up. When Cannon comes back, he knocks Fujiko back down with another running shoulder block. Cannon runs into another set of ropes as Fujiko returns to her feet with a kip up. When Cannon returns, Fujiko leap frogs over him. Cannon then runs into the far ropes. When Cannon comes back, Fujiko brings him down with a headscissors takeover. Cannon gets back to his feet, but Fujiko knocks him down with a dropkick. Cannon gets back to his feet, but Fujiko sends him back down with another dropkick. When Cannon gets back to a vertical base, Fujiko brings him down with an arm drag and transitions into an armbar. The crowd cheers as Cannon slaps the canvas out of frustration.
Kris Cruise: For the second time in this match, Fujiko gets the better of Cannon.
Stephy Auger: People love to talk about how Fujiko is only known for her hashtag or because of her bosom. But they continue to ignore the time she's spent honing her craft, expanding her moveset and becoming a better wrestler. It looks like Cannon is paying for that mistake right now.
The ref asks Cannon if he wants to give up. But Cannon refuses. After battling his way back to his feet, he moves Fujiko into the corner. The ref then heads over and gives Fujiko until the count of five to break it up.
Ref: ONE… TWO… THREE… FOUR…
As Fujiko makes the clean break, Cannon nails her with a shoulder thrust to boos from the crowd. While Fujiko’s doubled over, Cannon shakes his right arm before delivering a series of knife edge chops with his left hand. He then takes Fujiko and goes for an irish whip. But Fujiko reverses, sending Cannon into the corner. But Cannon ricochets from out of the corner and throws out a lariat. But Fujiko ducks and runs into the far ropes. When Cannon turns around, Fujiko brings him down with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors takeover. Cannon gets back to his feet, but Fujiko knocks him down with a dropkick. When Cannon returns to his feet, Fujiko goes for another dropkick. But Cannon side steps and swats her down. As Fujiko tries to get up, Cannon throws out a shoot kick to the chest, but Fujiko ducks. When Cannon turns back around, Fujiko jumps up to her feet and then brings him back down with a basement dropkick. While Cannon’s down on one knee, Fujiko takes off into the ropes. When she comes back, she spikes him with a headscissors facebuster. The crowd cheers as she makes the cover.

Both grapplers slowly make a clean break. Cannon then throws out a forearm strike with his left arm. But Fujiko moves out of the way by putting her upper body through the middle and top ropes. As she stands up, Cannon is quick to catch her with a back elbow to the head. While Fujiko’s momentarily dazed, Cannon turns and takes off into the ropes. When The British Mamba comes back, he charges across the ring and connects with a big boot, sending Fujiko tumbling to the floor to boos from the crowd.

Kris Cruise: We still haven’t seen Karma at all tonight. Normally he’s someone that has made his presence known by now.
Stephy Auger: Maybe he’s waiting for the right time to catch Cannon backstage.
Cannon picks up Fujiko, takes her by the right arm and delivers an arm wrench. Fujiko is quick to reverse into an arm wrench of her own. But Cannon quickly rolls forward, leans back, kips up and delivers an arm wringer, sending Fujiko shoulder-first onto the canvas. The crowd boos as Fujiko quickly grabs her shoulder. As Fujiko gets up on her knees, Cannon delivers a series of hard shoot kicks to the chest. A loud thud can be heard as each kick connects. While Fujiko’s dazed, Cannon sizes her up before throwing out a shoot kick to the face. But Fujiko reaches up and catches the kick. While Cannon hops up and down on one leg, Fujiko gets back to her feet, she then spins Cannon around. But when Cannon comes back, he uses the momentum to throw out a discus elbow smash. But Fujiko quickly catches him with a flying cross armbar.
Stephy Auger: What a counter!
Cannon quickly locks his hands, preventing Fujiko from hyperextending his arm. Fujiko repeatedly yanks back as she tries her hardest to break Cannon’s grip. But it’s to no avail. Cannon then rolls over onto his knee. After getting to his feet, he hoists up Fujiko before slamming her down on the mat, breaking the hold. Cannon then stumbles over into the ropes. While Fujiko’s down, Cannon can be seen clutching his right arm.
Kris Cruise: Cannon’s lucky that Fujiko wasn’t able to fully apply that armbar!
Stephy Auger: She’s already worked over his arm. If she got it fully locked in, this match might be over.
Fujiko slowly sits up and begins to shake out the cobwebs. She then holds the back of her head, still feeling the affects from getting slammed onto the canvas. Cannon sees this and begins seething at the sight of her. He switches positions, readying from some type of attack. Once Fujiko gets to her feet and turns around, Cannon charges over and throws out a lariat with his left arm. But Fujiko catches him with another flying cross armbreaker.
Stephy Auger: Fujiko with another armbar counter!
Fujiko tries to break Cannon’s grip. But Cannon’s got his hands locked tight. So Fujiko lifts her right leg up and repeatedly brings it down hard across Cannon his face. Once Cannon’s grip is broken, Fujiko pulls back, hyperextending the arm to cheers from the crowd.
Kris Cruise: Fujiko’s got the armbar fully applied!
Cannon can be heard groaning in pain while Fujiko keeps the cross armbar applied. The ref asks Cannon if he wants to give up. But Cannon refuses to quit. He then rolls over to his left, pressing Fujiko’s shoulders on the canvas.

Stephy Auger: How much longer can Cannon fight off the pain!?
Kris Cruise: If he doesn’t tap out soon, then that arm is going to be snapped in two! Cannon’s got to make a decision and quick!
Cannon reaches over, grabs one of Fujiko’s legs and then rolls himself over towards the ropes. He then reaches out with his far leg and drapes his foot across the bottom rope. The crowd boos as Fujiko is forced to break the hold.
Ref: ONE… TWO… THREE… FOUR…
Fujiko breaks the hold.
Kris Cruise: Cannon is lucky he was relatively close to those ropes.
Cannon gets up gets up on his knees and can be seen writhing in pain. As Fujiko slowly picks him up, Cannon nails her with a knee strike to the midsection. As Fujiko slowly picks up Cannon, he lunges forward, driving the top of his head into her torso. Cannon then lunges forward, nailing Fujiko with another battering ram headbutt. Stephy Auger: How much more of this can Fujiko take?
Fujiko covers her head with her hands as she can be heard groaning in pain. The ref asks her if she wants to give up. But once again, Fujiko refuses to quit. She then places her palms down on the canvas and slowly pushing herself up, causing Cannon’s eyes to widen.
Kris Cruise: What’s this!?
Fujiko begins to slowly scratch, claw and pull herself towards the ropes.
Stephy Auger: She’s fighting back! She fighting to get to those ropes!
The crowd cheers as Fujiko continues to pull herself towards the ropes.
Kris Cruise: She’s fighting through the pain! She’s almost there!
Cannon shakes his head in disbelief as Fujiko continues to make progress.
Stephy Auger: She’s just inches away, Kris!
Fujiko reaches out to grab the bottom rope. But Cannon stands up, drags Fujiko back to the center of the ring and places his knee on her back as he reapplies the single leg crab. The crowd erupts in boos.
Kris Cruise: Fujiko was almost there! She was just an inch away from those ropes! Now she’s back in the dead center of the ring!
J.A. Aldridge: Five minute remaining...
Fujiko screams in agony as Cannon continues to pull back. The ref asks her if she wants to give up. But once again, Fujiko refuses to quit. So Cannon pulls, nearly bending Fujiko in half.
Stephy Auger: God, how has she not given up yet!? How is she not giving up right now!?!?
The ref asks Fujiko if she wants to give up. But Fujiko refuses to give up. So Cannon stands up… and repeatedly stomps on the back of Fujiko’s head to boos from the crowd.
Kris Cruise: Look at those brutal stomps by Cannon! He’s got no remorse for Fujiko! He’s headhunting just like he did in the match against Evangelista!
Cannon continues to stomp on the back of Fujiko’s head until he throws her down down to the canvas. The ref then moves Cannon out of the way as he checks on Fujiko.
Stephy Auger: She might be seriously hurt, Kris!
The crowd noise is reduced to a murmur as the ref kneels down and checks to see if Fujiko can continue. But he doesn't get a response from her, causing a few fans to gasp. The ref then taps her shoulder and calls her name, hoping to get a response. But again, Fujiko doesn’t respond. So the ref looks over at the timekeeper and goes to motion for the bell. But just then, Fujiko reaches up and grabs his shirt. As the ref looks down, Fujiko slowly shakes her head, refusing to have the match stopped.
Kris Cruise: Fujiko doesn’t want this match to end, Stephy!
Cheers and applause can be heard as the crowd supports Lady Luck. Cannon slowly turns around and sees this and can’t believe it. He then marches over, grabs the ref by the shoulders from behind and tosses him to the side. As Fujiko slowly pushes herself up on all fours, Cannon steps back and waves her up with his left arm. Once she's in position, Cannon runs over and connects with a punt kick to the ribs, knocking Fujiko over onto her back. As Fujiko tries to turn over, Cannon runs over and delivers a soccer kick to the back, knocking Fujiko over the bottom rope and onto the apron. He then reaches over the ropes and slowly pulls Fujiko up. Once Fujiko’s back of her feet, she breaks free from Cannon’s clutches and counters with a gamengiri, sending The British Mamba stumbling back.
Stephy Auger: What a kick to the face!
After shaking off the blow, Cannon marches back over towards Fujiko. Fujiko then ducks his attack and counters with a shoulder thrust through the ropes, doubling him over. She then slingshots herself over the top rope with a sunset flip. But Cannon rolls through it. He quickly goes to turn Fujiko into another single leg crab. The crowd cheers as Fujiko slowly sits off of Cannon and raises her hand in the air. But the ref isn’t raising her arm in victory. Instead, he’s made his way to the outside to speak with J.A. Aldridge.
Kris Cruise: What’s going on here? What is he speaking to J.A. about?
Stephy Auger: I don’t know. It looks like we’re about to find out though.
J.A. Aldridge: Ladies and gentlemen, the referee has informed me that since neither grappler could score a fall within the allotted time, this match… has been ruled a Time Limit Draw.
The decision is met with an eruption of boos from the crowd.
Stephy Auger: Time Limit Draw!?
Fujiko drops to her knees. She places her hands on her head, feeling she’s been robbed of a victory. On the other side of the ring, Cannon turns over onto all fours and shakes out the cobwebs. After he gets up to his feet, he turns around and sees Fujiko, who is calling for five more minutes.
Kris Cruise: I think Fujiko wants some more time!
Cannon does a double take. Fujiko then holds up five fingers at Cannon.
Stephy Auger: She wants five more minutes and so does this crowd!
The crowd begins chanting “Five More Minutes!” Fujiko can be seen nodding in agreement.
Kris Cruise: This crowd wants to see this match continued and I can’t say I blame them!
Cannon looks around at the crowd. He then holds up five fingers.
Stephy Auger: Cannon wants it, too!
Cannon turns to Fujiko and holds up five fingers. Fujiko again nods in agreement. Cannon smirks as he bends his thumb, ring and pinky fingers, turning his five fingers into the British V sign. The crowd erupts in boos as Cannon keeps the V sign held up at Fujiko.
Kris Cruise: Oh come on, Cannon!
Cannon steps back before slipping through the ropes and making his way to the floor. A “Cannon Sucks!” chant breaks out as The British Mamba turns towards the aisle, where he’s greeted by Goodrich. The two continue to walk up the ramp as Fujiko just shakes her head. She can be seen mouthing “Last Real Man?”
