“Growing up I was always one of the boys.” Mercy begun.
Mercy was sitting on bleachers, wearing a Nike brand black sports bra, baggy light blue basketball shorts and a hooded jumper around her waist. The midday sun glistened over Mercy as she enjoyed the unseasoned warmth in North Carolina.
Mercy purses her lips together and grins looking into the camera. “I grew up with two older brothers and playing sports was a must in the household. Competing in sports was my true calling in life, I did cross country, touch football and Basketball being one of my favourites. Believe it or not, I was known as a tomboy - crazy, right?”
Mercy scroffs. “But people are still quick to judge, assuming that a typical tomboy would never glamorise herself and sellout to her own gender. Since it’s just an abomination for a woman to do that to herself.”
Mercy stands up from the bleacher she was sitting on and proceeds to stroll down the steps.
“Anyway, since I’m a woman I shouldn’t know how it feels like to be a ‘boy’ but ironically it’s okay for a boy to explain how it is to be a girl.”
Mercy rolls her eyes slightly, pausing and crossing her arms in a huff.
“Look, I’m not here to get on my high horse and complain about how terrible men are. But it has comes to my attention about two certain men in LDFC.”
“You have my next opponent Keegan Hightower and my personal friend” Mercy used air quotes to emphasis her sarcasm on the word friend, “Kellen Klein. These two men do have a few things in common, they are known for making big impacts within their debuts, they are cocky and arrogant but they have something that differs. Keegan for that matter is quite articulate and not passing himself off as an idiotic sexist college guy.”
“Keegan has had an impressive run so far in LDFC winning countless of matches and proving he’s a man of his word. I have come across him via social media and despite his cocky attitude, underneath it all he is much of a man than Kellen will ever be. But, oh wait, I’m a woman” Mercy gasps mockingly “that means I don’t know exactly what a good man is” Mercy roll her eyes again at her sarcasm. “According to Kellen I’m just a rancid pair of tits with no talent so technically I have no say in this issue.”
Mercy didn’t want those words by Kellen to get to her, but she still needed to express her frustrations of the verbal vomit he continues to spew about her.
“Keegan on the other hand is a man who I actually appreciate his talent and see a bright future for him in LDFC and eventually in FGA. He was known to have an impressive winning streak until he hit a few bumps in the road that knocked him down a peg or two. That being a humbling experience for him definitely has set himself up for greater things in the future that I see.
“I can't lie that I’m very excited to get that opportunity to wrestle him at the upcoming Pride. I don’t see this man to take me lightly, and I don’t expect him too. I know I’m not top tier talent as of yet, hence why I’m still working my way up in LDFC. I’m not going hide the fact the that I need step up my game to become much greater than I am. At the last Pride I did defeat Becky to showcase that I am capable of having a competitive match and come out on top. I intend to continue my that journey in my career and maybe an upset win over Keegan could elevate me to greater heights.”
Mercy tilted her head, imagining her upset win over Keegan. “If you can picture it, it’s feasible, right?”
Mercy continued now reaching down to the bottom of the bleachers. “Keegan, this is one fight I’m looking forward too. I’ll bring my a-game and you’ll bring yours. We both have a lot to prove, losing isn’t an option for either of us. I’ll make sure you will be the one begging for Mercy.”
Mercy kicked some dirt from the ground with her black nike sneakers before walking off from the camera frame as the scene faded.
