(Emily Carter is standing by)
Hey everyone! Emily Carter here and I must say that it feels good to be back! If you didn’t notice, I was on a bit of a break. But it wasn’t because I had to make an appearance for SSWA like during the summer or anything like that. This break was more of a mandatory timeout due to… reasons. Yeah… reasons.
(Emily’s mood sours as she thinks back to the conversation with Chris Bond in late September. Bond didn’t take too kindly to Emily’s accusation about him showing favoritism towards The Crimson Baroness. From her perspective, Bond had a thing for the Baroness and she, being the manipulative witch she is, was using her flirtatious ways to get away with highway robbery. Emily immediately regretted saying anything to Bond. Not just because he was her trainer and coming at him like that was wrong of her, but also because there was no concrete proof. But what was she to think? The Baroness never got so much as a slap on the wrist for all the crap she pulled. Yet according to Bond, it was Emily that was always causing drama. It was Emily that had a “bad attitude”.)
But enough about that. We’re only focusing on the positive here today and I can’t think of anything better than teaming up with my partner for Wednesday Night! That’s right, I have the opportunity to team with Jensen Banks against Emmet Faurve and Jean Paul Green.
(This Wednesday will be the first time the two have ever teamed together. But despite that, they still feel good about their chances. After all, Emily and Jensen were pretty good friends.)
This year has been amazing for me, you know? I wrestled my first match this year. I wrestled for the first time overseas. Now, I get to be in my first tag match. And I can’t think of a better partner to have than Jensen Banks.
(While Jensen had yet to pick up a win in LDFC, he was tearing it up in AIR. It was sort of similar to how Emily had setbacks in LDFC, but was impressing many any over in SSWA.)
Jensen and I have known each other for a few months now. He’s probably my oldest friend here. Not in terms of age, but in terms of who I’ve known the longest. Me and Jensen go all the way back to LDFC’s very first tryout camp back in June. There were people that came to LDFC both before and after that camp and were given contracts based off their reputation or recommendations from others. But not me and Jensen. Some assumed that we would just coast by due to the names of our more famous and successful siblings. But we’ve never tried to use our family to get ahead. The two of us had to scratch and claw just to make it in the door. We had to stand out amongst a group of nearly two dozen hopefuls, which included the super talented Boyd Garrison, who is doing big things in SSWA right now. Hey Boyd!
(Emily waves after giving a shout-out to her friend.)
But yeah, Jensen and I had to survive that just to have the privilege of coming here. But even after making it through the door, nothing was handed to us. It was still several weeks until we were given our first match. And when the time did come for us to lace up our boots and finally wrestle on Pride, both of our in-ring debuts for LDFC were unfortunately ruined. Jensen’s by a seemingly jealous Keegan Hightower and mine’s by that…
(Emily sighs as she recalls the Crimson Baroness costing her the match with Valcone. But what was worse was when she attacked Emily after the match).
The two of them rained on our parade. They ruined what should have been a great night for Jensen and I. It should have been a night to remember for the right reasons, not the wrong ones. But that’s not gonna happen this time around. No sir! Emmet and Jean Paul, you’re not ruining our debut as a tag team this Wednesday on Pride. You two might be the more experienced team. You might be the more polished team. Me and Jensen? We don’t have tag team moves. We don’t have a team finisher. We don’t even have a cool name. But you know what we do have? We have heart! We have determination! And when you add that in with the skill that we both have, that’s a recipe for a winning combination.
And it will be a winning combination, because when me and Jensen step into that ring, we’re not settling for anything less than a win.
See you then.
