First match done and dusted!
Despite not getting the win, Mercy was humbled by even getting the opportunity to wrestle a match at all in LDFC. Mercy wasn’t the kind to let people walk all over her but she excelled in sportsmanship so losing to Aric Keaton didn’t upset her too much. Walking out on the stage and getting into the ring in-front of an audience gave her such a drug like high. Instantly Mercy knew that wrestling was her true calling. In the back of her mind the chatter of her friends and family doubting her intentions of making it as a wrestler begun to subdue.
Mercy made the valiant choice by leaving her hometown of Sydney, Australia to come all the way to America to make her dream a reality. She wasn’t quite alone on her journey since her older brother who also wanted to start a new life travelled along with her. Mercy remembered after wrestling her first match she called her brother who finally realised her genuine enthusiasm in her career choice - It made her feel so happy.
Only living in America for the past few months, Mercy was starting to get accustomed to her new residence. Staying in North Carolina for LDFC was a brand new scenario from the overly developed cities like L.A and New York. Mercy has always been a big city girl, being raised in the most populated city of Australia - Sydney. Training down in North Carolina was going well for her, and the only frustrating thing was probably Mercy needing to repeat herself at times since most American’s think Australians speak a foreign language with their accents.
Mercy looked at the LDFC camera, preparing herself for another promo for her second upcoming match on Pride. She took a few deep breathes, to calm her nerves before the camera had started rolling. This was her second promo and d she didn’t want to stumble on her words or say something stupid. Mercy adjusted her LDFC printed tee that was tied up to look like a crop top that flaunted her toned torso. She looked up again to get the signal that she was now being filmed.
“I overcome the hurdle of my first match on LDFC and it was such an amazing experience. I'm so thankful.” Mercy exclaimed with her face glowing with a smile.
“Not getting the win didn’t phase me, I’m just glad I didn’t trip and fall on my face.” Mercy lightly chuckled.
“Now I’m here preparing for my second match here and this time it’s against Quinn Cobain. This woman and I have something in common, we left behind our home countries to come to America to make it as something. Quinn does have the advantage over me since she’s been wrestling longer than I have. Experience is one thing, but having the passion and dedication to continue is another. Quinn claims that wrestling is just a rebound career for her after she couldn’t get into art school. From what I learned from peers and my idols, wrestling is a arduous career and you need to be strong-willed to survive in this business. You can’t come in here half-assed and wait for something better to come along.”
“People may look at me as another fitness model only using this path of wrestling for bigger and brighter things. I’ve had friends and family say to me that I should only become a model or an actress because the wrestling part isn’t worth it. They couldn’t have been anymore wrong because I plan to work the hard yards to become the best damn female wrestler I can ever be.”
“At Pride, I will wrestle my second match and I will use my first match to better myself as a competitor for my next. I’m determined to continue my journey as a wrestler and most importantly, prove myself I can do this. The support from the wrestling fans would be an added plus, but the naysayers will give me that extra push and drive to become even more better. I’m looking forward getting into the ring with Quinn Cobain, all the best out there.”
With earnest, Mercy smiled into the camera ending her promo.
