(The scene opens to Emily Carter, who is seated on the steps outside her apartment in Greensboro, NC. The young upstart is looking to build off her recent win in LDFC as she faces the undefeated Keegan Hightower.)
Oh Keegan, what am I going to do with you?
(Emily asks the rhetorical question with a smirk on her face)
It was all good just a couple of weeks ago. I remember a time when you were fairly decent towards me. You were still just as arrogant back then as you are now. That much has never changed… and probably never will. But you actually used to be nice to me. But after a certain “netflix and chill” request went denied, your attitude took a complete 180. Now you’re all “Emily’s a Crybaby”... “Emily’s a subtweeting bitch”... “Emily is an ugliness in this business.”
… and here I was thinking that we were able to be cordial.
(Emily shrugs.)
I’m sorry, Keegan. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings. Honest! I know a guy as “desirable” and as “good looking” as you must be used to having throngs of women throw themselves at your feet. In your world, no woman is able to stop herself from falling head over heels for the irresistible Keegan Hightower. So it must've been a shock to your system when your tried and true lines got swatted out of the air. Again, I’m very sorry. It was not my intention to embarrass and humiliate you. But you’re just not my type. I like guys that are humble and caring. You’re far from humble and if we’ve learned anything from you, the only thing Keegan Hightower cares about… is Keegan Hightower. So maybe this was the first time in your life that you’ve been rejected. I don’t know. But even if it was, I’d expect you to at least handle it better. But ever since then, you’ve done nothing but call me names, take joy in my failures, and team up with your Crimson buddy to send insults my way.
Real mature, Keegs, real mature.
(Emily rolls her eyes at Keegan's pettiness.)
I’m actually glad that this match has been signed. I pride myself on getting better each and every single show. The only way that’s gonna happen is if I’m put in the ring with people that are better than me. That’s why I dove right into the deep end by entering SSWA’s UK Cup. It’s also why I’m looking forward to this match because I know that…
(Emily sighs before saying the following.)
...you’re actually better than me.
(Emily holds up her hands)
Now just hold on. I’m sure someone with your ego won’t even hear anything that comes out of my mouth after that. You probably heard “you’re better than me” and starting running around the room with your hands in the air. But I’ve got no problem admitting that you’re better. You’ve got more experience in this business and your record speaks for itself. You are undefeated. For now, at least.
(She says with a smirk.)
While your record remains spotless, we both know that everything isn’t what it seems. You were able to defeat Joanna and Quinn. You deserve all the credit for that. But let’s not act like you didn’t cheat to beat Jensen Walczak. Let’s not act like you weren’t able to get past Bree Nelson. You started off your LDFC career strong. I cannot take that away from you. But we’ve seen how you’ve fared against stiffer competition and honestly, we’re not that impressed.
I’m looking forward to this match not only so that I can test myself against better competition. I’m also looking forward to this match so I can exact a little bit of payback for my friends. You robbed Jensen of a win in his LDFC debut, just like I was screwed over in my debut by your Crimson buddy. Then you had the nerve to cheap shot Bree after your match. You attacked Bree Nelson, who is one of the sweetest people ever! To make matters worse, you then went around joking about her disability.
(Emilly narrows her eyes.)
I bet that superkick to Bree felt good, didn’t it? Well as good as that superkick felt, it’s gonna feel even better when I roundhouse kick the hell out of your face at Pride! Your ego is way out of hand. You, sir, are long overdue for a humbling and I’m just the girl to give it to you! That undefeated record of yours, the one that you cling to and like to rub in peoples faces? Yeah, that’s gonna get broken next week on Pride!
But hey, at least you’ll have your good looks to fall back on, right?
